Sledgehammer Attack: An attack where a nation uses all of its strength in an attack which makes it harder to attack again.

Baseball attack: A hard attack where a nation can quickly recuperate and attack again.

Pincher attack: A quick attack that does little damage.

Any suggestions for add ons?

pincher attack is general knowledge. It's like you saying Elvis was black.

Pincer Attack is an extremely common term. It may be your dictionary, but making up new meanings for standard terms isn't a good way to get your dictionary used.

Swinging Door. Entice the enemy to the center of your line, then swing one side like a screen door to sweep them into your other troups. (Gettysburg, Cpt. Chamberlain at the far left end of the line, day one.)

Perhaps all y'all are confused. I'm rather familiar with the "Pincer" manouever, but since Kasnyia misspelled it "Pincher" in his post, maybe they are both terms and Q is just confused. But then again I too use sortie in that context. Just opening up the possibilty for all parties being right.

And anyways, what do you call that Parthian tactic of a faux retreat that entices your enemy to follow you, and then counter-attacking him when he least expects it? Thats a strategy, right?
