You know I'm not rich man by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not stuck up and I certainly don't gloat about the things I am privieleged enough to have. Heck, if I got and you needed, all you gotta do is ask and I'll certainly share or give you as much as I can to help out.

But of course there has to be those little peices of %$*# (I'll try to keep this PG) that have to go around and just take whatever they want because either they're young and stupid or their lazy and won't go out and actually work hard like the rest of us to earn what they want!

My car was broken into last night, at least I assume it was last night, for all I know it could have been Thursday night. I assume they used a slim-jim or something to that effect and unlocked the car. Now of course you would probably say, well wouldn't the alarm go off? Well, I would think it should, but my car was wrecked before I got it, and when it was put back together a lot of things were put back half-ass, so I really don't know what condition the alarm is really in.

An you know I'm really not made about what I lost, because it was just a crown-royal bag full of change (couldn't been more than maybe 2 or 3 dollars worth) but it is the principle of the thing. Stealing ranks up there in my books almost as close as murder and rap just because it's a stupid crime usually done by either stupid kids who are dared too or high or something, or bums who mooch off of others because they themselves are too darn lazy to work.

Well, I've reported and they said that they've had some people in custody for some breaks-in in my area so there is hope they've caught the bastards but I tell you want. If it is them, they better be happy that the sheriff got to them first, cause I tell you what. Had I found um, well again I want to keep this PG.

OK I feel a little better now that I've ranted about it.

I too, have been stolen from recently. A large chunk of my last paycheck went unexpectedly missing. It says that I earned $325 but the check only had $285. Who the hell decided they could just take money from me without my permission!?

Well, now, I don't like rap music much either, but I'd hardly elevate it to the status of murder!

Seriously, though, I know how you feel. When I used to live in Mudville (that's Mundelein for all you Illinois peoples), there was a family gathering, and everyone parked their cars in our driveway. Some damn kids who lived in the area stole everyone's tollway change! A petty crime, I know, but like you said, its the principle of the matter!

Well, there's this creepy guy going around the neighborhood saying he is one of the neighbor's husbands and needs to borrow some cash for some reason-once he got into a neighbors house, I heard. It's creepy. Didn't steal anything from us, though. By the way, I know this guy isn't who he says, because I know who that neighbor's husband is, and he's not him. He also pretends to be different people a lot...

Wadj, I suspect he meant rape, not rap.

A rash of petty crime and thievery. I don't usually lock my car in the train parking lot. Two weeks ago, on a thursday I came back to my car to find my rear driver's side door ajar. I didn't think anything of it until I got to the golf course the following saturday, opened my trunk to retrieve my clubs, and found them missing! The bag was still there, but every club was gone! How annoying.

Then, last week, at the same train lot, I had parked the car, and went to pay - it's a box with a bunch of slots, and you can stick in four quarters, or a folded dollar bill. Well, here's this bum, with a pair of tweezers, trying to pull money back out of the slots. I yelled at him, and he took off, but that evening, there were about 20 parking tickets on cars and people were pissed. Those are only $10.00 parking tickets, but it still is a pain in the ass. I called the cops, and reported what I saw that morning. The good news - they caught the bastard the next morning!!

I hate people that steal!!

Last summer, when I was in my hometown Rimouski, someone came into my bedroom in Montreal (probably during a party made by a friend) and stole the following things:
- 5 Gameboy Advance games (two had been borrowed to my cousin);
- $200 cash from my student association money (I was treasurer).

I refunded my cousin $50 for his two stolen games, it wasn't his fault actually and I was responsible of his games.

I had to resign from my position of treasurer of my student association. That pissed me off since I was innocent, but at least I didn't have to pay back for the stolen cash.

So basically, I lost 3 Gameboy Advance games (worth around CAN$100), $50 cash and I had to resign from my position of treasurer of my student association.

I tried to find the thief, but my friend had invited too many people during the summer to know who it might be...

I'm not even going to go in to what various over-night "guests" have stolen from me before I stopped playing the field. What pisses me off the most is that if they needed something - cash, cigs, whatever, I would gladly give it to them, I am a very generous person. That is just soo low, especially to rip off college students, who everyone knows usually doesn't have a pot to piss in anyway!

I had a black 70's bug, with a '59 rebuilt engine! Maybe it's the same bug? Do you have a gas guage, or do you have to use a dip stick??

There's really nothing I can say that will bring justice to you. But I can honestly say I do feel your pain...no joking. I honestly hope everything turns out good for you in the long run. You just have to roll with punches, get back on your feet, and find the goods in the situation. Things happen, and people can be down right cruel. Don't let it compromise your morals and ethics. For what it is worth, I hope everything turns out for the best. ;)

The funny thing is, the number of times my lover and I have been ripped off by people we have tried to help, or offered our home to, or shown kindness, you think we'd be careful; but we can't help ourselves. If someone is in need, or trouble, or needs a place to stay, we always open our door (even tho, after every time we've been taken advantage of, we always say "never again").

Human nature is funny, but I guess when I die, and the sums are all added up, I want to be a net giver, not a net taker.

Well, you have to have some part of you that always wants to reach out to those in need. And there are instances where it is ginuine, and that one instance almost cancels out all the bad ones. Some call it street smarts, some call it divine intuition. Whatever it is, there are good people out there who ginuinely need our help. However much can be offered. Don't lose the compassion, just be more wary of lending it out.

Strange. I also saw a doorknob disappear during a party... We searched for it everywhere, even outside (and it was in winter, with 2 feets of snow everywhere except in the parking). We never found it.

In my strange unholy youth I had a doorknob collection - don't ask me why. I swiped them from hotels and office building, not private homes.

 ...yeah I won't ask

But really what would someone want a doorknob for? Ah well, I always keep a hotel card key when I go places, so this was probably just karma catching up with me

My dad is now making fun of me though, he keeps telling me how he wishes I could have seen my reaction when I realized someone had broken into my car. He thought I was going to start beating on someone or something. Which is funny because if you meet me, I'm a complete pacifist. Maybe I'm just a bear waiting to be provoked   :P

Personally I haven't been stolen from yet but I'm certain I'm due for it soon. My closest expereince to theft was last summer when I worked at a supermarket and the store manager and security guard sprinted and tackled some teanage punks trying to steal clothing. That was pretty exciting.
