I was playing Call of Duty 2 on my Xbox 360, and my foot hit the wire. It unplugged. I lost all of my saved data for CoD 2...NOOOOOOO! |

CoD2 is the tits. Love that game. Just replay through, odds are you' ll do better and maybe unlock some bonus junk. I'm still working through it on the hardest difficulty. Beat it on the easier ones though. Almost done with Most Wanted as well. |

I've beaten it twice now because this happened once before. Actually, thrice, because I beat it on legendary (or whatever the highest difficulty is) once. |

I've worked in this business long enough to remember the mantra, "Save early, save often!" |

It's not that I wasn't saved, it was that all my data is gone. This happened once before... |

Actually, now that I think about it... I've heard of this happening before. Did you save to a harddrive or a memory card thingy? For myself, I have both a HD and a MC. I save once to the HD and also to the MC. Backups are always a good thing. ^_^ A MC is... I think $20. Maybe less. |

CoD2 is the only game that I know of that will do that, but keep the other game saves. Try saving to a memory card. Or, you might have a faulty disc or something. Contact the company yet? |

No, it's obvious what's the cause. My 360 got unplugged while CoD was playing. |

Ah, bad autosave design. Erases old files before saving new files. It should save new files to temp name, erase old files, then rename new files. Shoot the programmer!! |

No, you don't manually save yourself. It's a checkpoint system where you can save a checkpoint. It's all saved to one file, and each time I save I overwrite my last one. |

Well, regardless, there has to be something that caused those particular files to be deleted, and the power interruption caused some process to get caught with it's files down. |

Umm.... lets review. Harumf said: Ah, bad autosave design. Erases old files before saving new files. It should save new files to temp name, erase old files, then rename new files. Shoot the programmer!! Quaon said: No, you don't manually save yourself. It's a checkpoint system where you can save a checkpoint.
