Of course, this is directed at Americans, and sympathetic others, lol. I was quite pleased to see that my local paper, the Trenton Times printed the Declaration of Independence today. Even better, they printed it in place of their usual crappy editiorials :D

I was displeased to see that my township launched firework yesterday instead of today, but what can you do? I'd love to launch my own, but its illegal in New Jersey :(

Happy Independance day from a sympathetic other.

Thank you :D

Does Britain have a comparable holiday? I mean I guess you guys have been independent forever anyway, so it wouldn't be anything like that. Is there a main national holiday?

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

5th of November is not a national holiday. And while 4th of July celebrates America's freedom from the Crown, 5th of November celebrates when we failed to overthrow the system.

Stupid parliment.

And it also represents persecutions of minorities in this country, whatever type of minority they be (but especially of Catholics).

We had a pretty good fireworks display here on base. Too bad I had to patrol the area on duty.

Indeed.

Not only is it especially of Catholics - which I strongly feel about as my family/ancestors is/were Catholic - but it's also a celebration of betraying those close to you by ratting them out to the state so they can oppress and kill those who stand against them.

This could be why I love V for Vendetta so much... that I and I don't particually fancy being killed for owning gay porn and a Koran (which I'm using as a footrest :D ).

I don't own everything - far from it.

I've been meaning to get the Jewish Holy Books. And I meant digital porn - not hard copies.

I just like showing off what I do have.

The laptop I'm on has 196MB of RAM. That's hardly "everything".

That does to me! Is that it?? You are sooooo underpowered, I'm surprised you can play any of the new games! I'm surprised you can even play "Rome"!!

Rome? Never heard of it.

And quite simply - I don't play any of the new games. Well I do play some games on my friends LAN but I never claim to play any new computer games.

I've played just about every game released in the 90s - and if CE is going to be a dick and accuse me of lieing again I'll whip out the webcam and take pictures of me with everything I've claimed to play/own and post it here. So no more ass-hattery please.

It's plenty to play C&C, and that's what counts.

Right?
