The government does have a lot of problems making important decisions. Its sad to see that my own government cant make a choice about where to cut spending so they can function properly. Granted, we are talking about a state government, but problems like this can easily be transfered to a larger scale if not taken care of soon.
Who is your governor anyways? Cant be as bad as Hilary Clinton. I unfortunatly have her... <_<

NJ's Governor can't do a thing. The House and Senate won't send him a budget to sign, veto, change. Until he gets a budget on his desk............
Nag, stick with theology, your knowledge of economics is woefully thin!
NJ is a very corrupt state, which doesn't help them, but Illinois, IMHO is even worse, which is why we won't go bankrupt - when the state economy fails, feds come in and look at the books, and all the corruption can be discovered. NJ had years with Gov. Whitmann whom I truly believe was not corrupt, and therefore, did not do the right hocus pocus stuff to hide the graft. Also, NJ already has close to the highest taxes in the country - too many of CE's charity cases that need to be taken care of.
AA, your governor is George Pataki, a centerist republican. Your federal senator is Hillary Clinton, the nut-job ninja assassin of Pennsylvania Ave. You have my sympathies!

That is simply not right! Couldn't you just claim to be from New Hampshire, where there is no state income tax??

My knowledge of ecnomics is virtually non-existant.
However,
The company I work for is nationally over budget. The hospital I work in is £30 million in debt. I'm a student with more loans to my name than I can count (ok, that one's a lie - but in a month it'll be true).

[RANT] Ah Illinois, where the construction workers rip up the roads in spring and leave them ripped up until they have a mad rush in October to finish them (which they never manage), where the Governor sold drivers liscences in exchange for bribes, the Chicago police are more crooked than a 7.8 dollar bill, and where the developers are building ass ugly subdivisions right and left, filled with hideous McMansions built for people in mid-level management, who are only a paycheck away from bankruptcy, and yet drive BMWs and Mercedes and Lexi. [/RANT]

I'm not in Bean's district, I'm in Kirk's. And I'm a Democrat, so I don't think he'd jump to protect me.
McHenry County is pretty cool, though. I was there four times in five days, once with my Grandpa and my Dad to the Volo Auto Museum, once to the coin shop in McHenry, once to my Uncle's house to help prepare for the 4th, and then once again for the actual 4th.

Not for me, I'm an hourly employee. I believe the legislators are planning to pass a bill to provide backpay to the contracted employees. But I don't think casino employees get back pay either.

Random work story, since were on the topic of work:
I'm playing Starcraft at work, since no ones here and I have to be. My Commading Officer walked in and I didnt see him. Long story short, he sat and watched me play for about 5 minutes, then coughed. I of course started to appologize and freak out once I realized he was there.
He laughed and asked me for some tips. He said, and I quote "I'm tired of getting my ass beat at this game."
True story. B)

Never saw one, never caught one. They supposedly came in when European ships would dump ballast. Also Zebra Mussels which are a real pain. I think the lamprays are gone now, just Koho Salmon, walleye, muskie, big ass bass, some trout. Not much to worry about, unlike your little body of water that has SHARKS!!
