Its because they didn't have Pheonix as an alien entity, but as a part of Jean. So all its power is basically hers naturally in the movie. |

Now that I can get on board with. "In the movie Pheonix is just a part of Jean so the power is all hers"? Why? I'll tell you why - so that a woman is the most powerful X-man (well member of the Brotherhood). Politically correct bull shit. Pheonix is an Omega level mutant. To become Pheonix in the cannon comics, Jean has to surrender who she is - in some story arcs they're seperate entities, in the main she choses to die mortal than live as Pheonix as a god. Now simply making it "Jean's the most powerful mutant. No transformation or loss of self is required for her to access Pheonix's powers. She just kicks ass naturally" is bull shit. Saying she has Magical Ovaries in the films... that's something I can support. |

Ok just saw it. First off, why didn't one of you shut me up when I went on that rant about Jean? The Jean/Phoenix line was clearly drawn! Jean could not tap into Phoenix's powers at will - thus it fits with the cannon - thus I loved that part! In order of the first three deaths/depowerments: Loved it. Thought it was a little early. Hated it. Didn't care. Liked the start. The middle was good. The end was crap. The final scene was great! Overall, I rate it 7/10. |
