Bands of the World; Needed For a Concert!

Ok when the Black Pope came to power in Nag Ehgoeg I started planning a Satanic Rock Concert of Woodstock proportions.

Needless to say, that fell through.

However, with the Olymics in the works, I feel a giant concert could work now.

For this, however, I need bands.

As we only recently expanded into America, I'm assuming that all American bands formed prior to 2000 still exist (though as America has never had an effect on our nations, these bands will be much less popular globally than they currently are - "Britney who? ... Oh yeah, 'Oops I Did It Again' girl... Yeah I remember her, didn't she overdose or something... Oh ok, well it doesn't really bother me, Sandy Emmanulas is my favourite female singer anyway").

But I'd like to see what bands are big in other nations etc and especially if "real world" bands from your nation still exist or not.

OK, I'll start with Gitchi Goomi (Just Michigan. Minnesota and Manatoba Later)

The Warning
After the Ashes
Eminem
Iggy Pop
Insane Clown Posse
Kid Rock
Ted Nugent
Polish Muslims
? and the Mysterians
Mitch Ryder
Sponge
Uncle Kracker
The Yuppers
White Stripes

That is the short list, and I am not including Icons like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, etc, etc as they are more solo artists.

OOC: I don't know if it's on purpose or not, but it is Manitoba, not Manatoba.

Don't forget Christian Rock Bands!

[Edit]

Or any type of Christan music for that matter. Also, the genre of all these bands would be good.

Some Iranian rock is actually ancient Arabic poetry that has been put to music. Al Araam is clearly attained a higher spiritual plane than Catholic Europe, even our rock music is holy. :P

Only one band from Esternarx will attend. They are a fictional band but they are similar to Bob Dylan in their lyrical genius, the lead guitar sounds like Nirvana, and their music itself is somewhat a mix between techno and alternative rock, with an emphasis on rock.

I call them:

The bands representing Antebellum South all play country and Southern rock.

The bands mentioned in the Gitchi Goomi sector all have web sites, as do the bands from Chile (Atlantis Primary).

The Lambda League offers:

Boys will be Girls (an all-drag review of bawdy show tunes)
Tom Jones (You know who he is)
Englebert Humperdink (same)
Wayne Newton (more of the same)
Your pick of 750 Elvis impersonators

New Harumf does not allow rock music.

The Amish Children have no idea what you are talking about.

I've never really given a thought to popular music in any of my nations. If acceptable, I can send a few church choirs. I don't know if they would fit the atmosphere of your concert, however.

Heh heh. Yeah, I suppose there's popular music in my nations, but I just don't know what it is. I don't really invision the Saxe-Coburgians as being interested in rock-- they're more into classical.

I suppose Wadj would have some sort of rock/pop. Perhaps something mixed with traditional Egyptian and Persian music. Therefore, I shall invent a band or two for Wadj. Sarawakh would have a few bands, I suppose. I'll make up some for them, and I'll also fabricate a few for Mexico. Le Congo Leopold only listens to state-sanctioned music.

Sarawakh:
-Exit Ramp (Punk)
-The Victorians (Pop)

Wadj:
-The Mithridites (Pop, but with traditional Persian instruments)
-Ptah (Ancient-Egyptian influenced alternative rock)

El Imperio Mejicano:
-Madre de Dios (Gregorian-Chant inspired rock)
-Quetzalcoatl (Aztec-influenced rock)

Yeah, I'm envisioning a world music festival of sorts - with different types of music from arround the world. I'll send messengers on horseback to the armish with wooden flutes to try and explain this concept of "music" to them.

Well since I was envisioned NeoRome and her colonies (Hispania Ulterior being the only one currently)as a cultural meldpot of new ideas and such, music within the nation is widely varied and there is at least 5 bands for every genre however here are my favorites, the tribute bands.

- The kings of Queen (Queen)
- The Slingers of Guns and Roses (Guns and Roses)
- Timathy Tutone (Tommy Tutone)
- The best of Boston (Boston)
- Simplistic Minds (Simply Minds)

Neo-Macedonia is for the most part your traditional Catholic nation. Most music is of religious texts however in some small pockets of the nation Celtic rythms and tribal beats have found their way into underground radio stations.

The Traditional Mainstream music:
- Glad (contemporary)
- 2 or More - Pop/Contemporary
- Alive - Praise & Worship
- KJ-52 - Rap/Hip Hop
- Jonah33 - Metal/Hard Rock

TheNeoDynasty does have much in the way of music. The caste system prevents bands and singers to get a start in the Empire because it is more prized to be a soldier than an artist of any kind in Dynastian society. However, a few bands do exist and are of the hard/satanic rock variety.

Some Dynatian bands:
-Sepultura
-Matallica

The Persian music is basic and not very mainstream. Live bands usually play traditional persian rythms in resturants and outside cafes.

The Seceded South music industry is dominated by American country artists. They believe whole heartedly that country music is the only good music that exists.

A few bands/artists which have success within the Seceded South:
- Charlie Daniels Band
- CCR
- Alabama
- Hank Williams Sr. & Jr.
- Dolly Parton
- Montgomery Gentry
- Garth Brooks
- George Strait
- Brooks & Dunn
