Let's face it! After a Scot accent the next least understandable is from the east end! A midlands accent is quite pleasent - kind of a mix of Midwest blandness with welsh brisqueness. East Enders sound like they've got a mouth full of shit!

Which East End accent are we talking about here? The old or the new one?

Only someone in the east end can tell the difference, so it doesn't matter!

No, you would be able to tell the difference as well. Seriously.

No, he wasn't. I want to know which one he was talking about and he said that only someone from the East End could tell the difference, which I refuted. He never said that he was talking about both at any point.

He never specifically stated it, but you can locate several significant hints if you actually look.

Um... he said he was talking about the East End accent, and said that one couldn't differentiate between the two. That means that whatever he said applies to both, since as far as he's concerned, there isn't any difference.

I actually only know one east-end accent. I assume the "New" accent is a bunch of yuppies or metrosexuals moving into the area, so it isn't the "real" east end accent. Regardless, I like the midlands accent. I talked to several people from there, and, yes, had my difficulties, but basically, could follow the conversation.

LMAO! It's not Yuppie at all. It's the new 'cockney' accent. Jafaican I think they call it. A mixture of cockney, bangladeshi and jamaican.

Oh, shit, that's like eubonics or spanglish - doesn't count as an accent because it is a blend of several others. That's like saying southern yiddish is an accent! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't understand the new east-end accent any better than I can understand packistani or bangledeshi people trying to speak english here!

They ar like 3rd generation immigrants. They were born here. Just the accent is mixed-up and the slang words are different. It is a bona fide accent. They did an article in the newspaper about it.
