I think 65% of 16 year old males "say" they have had an intimate kiss. |

What happens if you are drunk yourself? And if that law is true, then I have committed a lot of rape and been raped a lot of times too. :o |

But age of consent there is 16, right? So you weren't, and didn't. |

It doesn't matter what age you are. You can still get and commit rape. |

If coersion is invovled then it's rape. If there's no coersion then it's legal. But Harumf's right, the big issue is underage drinking. |

She was feeling sick today so instead of springing all this on her when she wasn't feeling good I just tried to cheer her up and comfort her instead. It worked. The main story of today was my court appearance. It was for one of the most absurd laws... "Day Curfew" See, a month or so ago, I went off campus for lunch at the Dairy Queen across the street. (cuz cafeteria food sucks ass) I'm 16, and legally, I'm not allowed to do that until I'm 17. The popo caught me coming back and busted me. I went to court today and had to wait for two and a half hours while stupid potheads, juvenile delinquents, and various other law breakers cussed and milled around the room waiting for the judge to sentence them. First of all, the law is a joke, the fact that I got caught was pure shitty luck cuz hardly anyone gets caught and people do it all the time. Its the most absurdly crapulent law anyways... when I asked the pig the justification for the law he said, (and I quote) "We've had complaints from underage girls who have gone off campus during lunch and when they were crossing the street, a man pulled up in a car and showed them his genitals. We are responsible for things like this from not happening so we have to make sure that no one leaves the school and gets offended." I'm honestly not sure what I was more offended about, the fact that he told me the story, or just the fact that the law existed. Bottom Line: the city's gonna make me pay something like 115 bucks for court costs and some 8 hour class (statist propaganda lecture) on saturday... This is really off topic but I didn't think it deserved its own thread so... whatever... |

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! What school district are you in that would put that into effect? Mars?? Some perv exposes himself to underage girls and they bust the underaged population instead of the perv. See, this is America gone mad. You young ones will be voting soon, and you need to remember this nonsense. This is not normal. Vote the bozos out! |

In my high school, nobody could leave the school without permission. Only seniors could go out for lunch, and only if they had a card issued by the school indicating that they were authorized to do so. |

I know... not really anything I can do about it though... at least not until I can vote, and then it'll be too late, anyone who would likely want to vote the "bozos" out will either have already become one (Austin, Texas has a sprawling beaurocracy of city government jobs and positions) or won't care because they are old enough not to be hassled about it anymore. Practically the only people that care enough to do something about it are either too young to be able to or too few in number to make a difference anyways. The good news is, next year, I'll be 17 and will be able to go off campus legally. No wait, according to the judge I spoke to today, ALL Austin schools are going to become closed campuses next year, meaning no student, no matter how old they are, will be able to leave during the school day. So basically, I'm fucked... |

There was a time at my high school when you could leave campus, but since a highly traveled street sits in front of it (an I think a few kids did get hit by cars once or twice) they put up a fence in the median of the road and then made it against school rules to leave. You didn't have to go to court if you get caught, just get suspended I believe. However, I was fortunate enough to know the right people and left frequency during one period my senior year because a friend of mine could always talk the teacher into letting us go get coffee for her. Of course we'd stop by the McD's before hand. OH those were the days  :shy: |

The Law is in effect everywhere really. He commited truancy by leaving campus. My best freind's brother got busted for truancy, down south in Sa Diego. And dude, Esternarx! Letters are totally bad style. Try to forget you ever did that, seriously. Comforting her was a good move, and getting to show up in court for a minor thing like truancy is pure luck. Makes you look like a badass. And if you don't normally act like it, so much so the better! |

Dude, we left campus all the time. Gardener was always going off for Mickey Ds in year 11. Heck even I would go down to the garage sometimes (ok, twice but still...). The most I ever heard of someone getting punished was a Saturday. Now they have this massive ****ing fence and gate though so I guess things have changed. Now E., fight the power. Get your parents to write a waver saying you won't hold the state responsible if someone exposes themselves to you during school hours when off campus. Present that to the court and tell them, very politely, to pay their own damn fees - and/or sue the cop for telling you that story. |

That won't do any good, I asked em if I could just get my dad to sign a paper saying that they relinquish responsibility for me during lunch hour or something and they said, bluntly, NO. As far as suing them, we don't have the money for that, we're going broke as it is. Theres no way in hell they aren't gonna let me pay the court costs either, you should have seen the court room, it was fucking lavish, theres no other word for it. The newest computers, the fanciest chairs, ornate decorations on the walls... EDIT:
Yeah... I know, it seemed like a good idea at the time though... |

Everyone in this country is treating underaged kids like stupid little fragile china dolls, like your average 15 year old girl doesn't know what genitals look like. Some stupid pampered bitch reported it to their parents, who made a big stink, and the noose got tighter. When my mother was 17 (in 1935) she and her younger sister were walking through Jackson Park in Chicago, and some perv exposed himself. My mother kicked him in the balls, and they ran away laughing. No harm done. We are just overprotecting kids now days, and expect the government to do it for us, because we don't want to be bothered, and when the government is in charge it makes the most rediculous lowest common denominator type rules. Ach, don't get me started. |

Massive fucking fence or no, it stops no-one. Although the side gate seems inaccessible. But about 95% of the sixth form go home early on Wednesday, and no-one cares. They say they do. But they don't. And by the amount of times Marshall's been "through the roof" about it, you'd think that there'd be at least a slight flooding problem. |

K Narx, you just gotta take it like a man. If you're short on money (which I always am) try and get a night in the lockup or something as opposed to fines. Even Juvy's not that bad, really. Being a convicted misdemeanorer isn't that bad either. If you've had to pay a traffic ticket, then you've already been convicted of a crime. Its not like you won't get hired because of your rap sheet. Besides, this will boost your image. Act cool about, pretend like you're not worried, even act unapologetic around friends. When its time for court, just sit there and dno't sass the judge or anything stupid like that. When the time comes, you'll get through it. And it will mkae you look brave, like you have some character, which mey or may not be true. It will help with that girl, honest. As for the letter, I must say, when you're young, it always does. Resist the temptation lol. Or text mesage, that's cool.
That's my opinion anyways. But the government only makes stupid laws because people are stupid, and under American law, they can sue the government because they're stupid. So Washington or whatever state capitol is just covering its own ass, not pulling a big brother. Same thnig with those obscenely stupid product warnings. That's the real reason others disdain Americans. |

When I worked in Sears Corporate, some idiot taped the panic stop bar on his lawn mower so it wouldn't shut off, then reached under the sides to try and trim his bushes. Needless to say, he cut off several fingers. He sued Sears for not having a warning against using a lawn mower to trim bushes, and won $1.5 million in a settlement! Tell me about it, everyone is covering their asses from lawsuits, yet the damn democrats in congress (everyone a lawyer) has been blocking tort reform for years! Pisses me off. Will common sense ever prevail?? |

You know, the new conservative government here in Canada is going to raise the age of consent from 14 years old to 16 years old. That means the 18 years old guy having a 15 years old girlfriend would be a criminal... <_< |

Nothing personal, but that's just creepy :( I've know a few guys who like to "Scrape the bottom of the barrel" but it's just not my thing. And WOW I never knew that the age of consent was so low in Canada As for NH, I have to disagree to a certain degree, although I agree on the fact that parents should take more responsibilities when it comes to their child, and in fact I think the government should just butt out when it comes to raising kids. The worst part though it that too many bad parents are allowed to become parents when the good ones can't. It's just a screwed up world we live in |

WARNING: This post contains hideously pointless and off topic ranting and emo-ish diatribe. Read at your own risk. aghhh! shes so fucking... i dont even know... okay, first of all, I haven't talked to her about that yet. She's on these meds for her ADD or whatever and they make her all depressed and depressing to be around. I can't blame her for that... but, most of the time I was with her today, (before the meds kicked in) I realized how much I actually value her friendship... I mean, I've lived in Austin for a year now and she's one of the best friends I have... but on the other hand, she's soooooo hot.... Every time I see her I feel like grabbing her by the hair and thrusting her up against the wall and........  When we are alone and I have the time to tell her, I get all stupid and can't say anything, partly because I'm a little cowardly emo bitch, but also, partly because, subconciously, I know I don't want to ruin our friendship... She actually listens when I bitch about crap that no one else wants to hear... I actually care about how her day was when I ask about it... I honestly can't say that about anyone else... Sometimes... I think I have a chance... and othertimes... I'm sure that she thinks of me as nothing more than a friend.... If I misjudge her feelings, I've just lost one of my best friends... I can't just go up and talk to her about it... I can't... :( |
