Age: She's 16... no wait, 15... it doesn't matter anyways cuz I'm 16... Last Boyfriend: Capono broke up with her because he came out of the closet while dating her last summer. How long I've known her: We've known each other since the beginning of the school year, and I've liked her secretly the whole time.

What kind of guy breaks up with a hot girl because he finds out she's bisexual? Am I missing something?

yes, you misread the thread... the guy was gay... period.

Oh shit. I thought you said SHE came out of the closet, and I though you said she was bi earlier, so I thought that was what it refered to.

Sorry about that. Makes more sense this way. That's not really his fault, is it? I mean, wouldn't it have been worse if he stayed with her while not being interested in her?

Hmm... judging from that... I'd say you've got a good shot.

Going from all the info I have (and remember - you know a lot more than me) I'd start a conversation about that letter. If things get to heavy, bail out with the classic "sorry, I shouldn't have put you on the spot like this, forget it... so how about them Lakers?" Ok I don't even know who the Lakers are, but you get the gist. Try and find out exactly how she felt about that letter, assure her it wasn't a joke and that was how you felt at the time. If she asks you how you feel about her now, be evasive unless you think she likes you back - something like "well I do still really like you... but if you don't feel the same way *cool guy shrug*".

The important thing is to show her you'll treat her right... and not hit on her brother :P

[Edit]

And actually, some guys get really freaked out when they find out their girlfriend is bi - thank god! :D

It's not mine. I frankly don't care my girlfriend is bi - and in fact it's unusal for me to date a girl who isn't at least curious.

But then a guy in my possition sees lesbians a lot, when you understand the "lesbian ham" joke in the Mighty Boosh the thought of your girlfriend and another bird in a threesom with you isn't all that.

As for guys not liking it, it tends to be about jealosy and "sin".

Thanks... that sounds like sound advice...

About the gay thing though... she loves gay guys the way guys love lesbians... she knew what she was getting into when she started dating that guy... In fact, she has jokingly tried to get me to kiss other guys so that she could watch.... and/or take pictures... I haven't (I don't swing that way) and I probably won't... not even if it would drastically help my chances...

Dude seriously, if she digs it then suck it up!

[Edit]

I mean it's the 2000s, can't one, or four guys make out without being gay?

Well you might. But if it's your first kiss I guess it "should" be with a girl. But your second kiss, pretty much has to be a guy - so you can compare.

speaking of lesbians, I have a friend who was dating this girl and afterwards she became a lesbian. Didn't really help out the poor guys self-esteem to think that he may have been the reason she went gay. He's a good guy though, and I still suggest buying a tractor

I'd like to think I can get a girl without having to resort to compensating by buying a really big piece of farm machinery...

...then again, I don't have a girl yet, so maybe a tractor is the way to go... :P

Dude, dude, dude. Don't ever tell anyone I ever said this, but.........honesty is the best policy, and don't write it down, talk to her in person, alone. And don't kiss a guy just to impress her, she's not Paris Hilton, for cripes sake!!

Take her somewhere where you can talk. Tell her how you feel about her. Screw the pick-up lines and just be forthcoming, and don't worry about backing out. If she freaks, she freaks, but I doubt it. She must already like you, or she wouldn't be hanging around, so it's the best approach. Also, tell her that you'd like your first kiss to be with her. Oh, don't beg, cry, shake or stutter. Not cool.

Gads! Guys coming out in second year high school! What is this world coming to? Back when I was in 2nd year high school you couldn't have come out if you wanted to, because no one would have the slightest idea what you were talking about!!

Nag, not EVERYONE needs to kiss a guy for comparison....even if we are better kissers!

CE, I will not PM you, so if you want me to explain how you pick em up, I'll only do it here, so, you still want to know what I know I know??

Pwwt. I'm just trying to make sure my generation doesn't make the mistakes of yours - it's that kind of attitude that leads to Brookeback Mountain type stories. One kiss isn't a big deal - I'm not saying become a man-whore to impress a girl.

Other than that... Harumf's idea is a good one. If you feel up to it, then go for it. But a sixteen year old that's never been kissed... well that kinda made me feel like (and don't take this the wrong way) you're kind of a wuss when it comes to the fairer sex.

If you feel you can suck it up, be a man and do it's Harumf's way without stuttering and making a complete fool of yourself - then go for it, it's definately the most likely to work. I'd say it has something like an 85% chance of working if you can pull it off.

But doing that requires guts, if you want to do it the cowards way then follow my advice. I give it 75%, but my way is much easier to do.

I still say get her drunk....and then speak to her then. The truth always comes out then...well, it sometimes does and other times wild lies emerge too....just get her drunk and get drunk yourself. Everything is so much easier then, believe me.

Getting drunk and telling someone how you feel is great when it's an accident. Trying to do it is in the same vien as drug rape. Seriously dude, don't do it - guilt makes a hang over much worse. It'd be terrible if she doesn't remember your conversation because of drink - or if she laughs in your face because she's too drunk to care about you're feelings.

If you can do it NH's way, then please do - it's you're best shot - trust us.
If you don't feel upto it, my way is pretty damn good to.

Nooo! Get her drunk!

Once again, CE is encourageing E to break the law. First he suggests rape, then he suggests getting drunk. You seem to forget the legal age for alcohol in the US is 21. Him possessing alcohol is a felony. Him having her drink the alcohol is a felony, and once again we are back to his first kiss being from Bubba the Cell-mate.

Nag, I have a feeling E means his first "deep" kiss. Just because you got jumped on at a younger age by a wiser and older person that forced a tongue down your mouth does not mean we all have!! It is not unusual for a guy to not have had a serious relationship involving kissing and intimacy prior to being 16, so quit trying to make him feel like he is the exception rather than the rule. I know many guys that waited into their 19th, 20th year or even longer, before getting that serious, and they are cool, normal guys!

Let us know how it goes, E. We won't laugh (well, not on line).

I did not suggest rape. Just when people are drunk they are easier to get into bed if we are honest. As for the drinking is a felony thing, that's just pathetic and shouldn't get you into that much trouble. I know that over here a 16 year old being drunk would not get you sent to jail. Or even in much trouble other than with your parents.

As for what Nag said, I agree with him. 16 is kinda of getting on the old side to have not had your first kiss, in my opinion.

Much as I disagree with the law, the law states that if you intoxicate someone in order to get make them compliant with your sexual wishes then it's rape.

And it's not "unusal" for someone not to have a "deep" kiss by 16 - there's certainly nothing wrong with that and it's nothing to be ashamed of. But many people have, and I wouldn't say that most people have not. By 16 I'd estimate that 65% of people have had their first kiss - being the one in three certainly isn't bad.
