The Very Model of a Modern Major General
|
The first Wadji Census since before the death of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent has been completed, and the numbers surprised census takers. The number of Wadji Muslims has decreased drastically, and the number of Wadji Christians has increased. Some claim that the change has to do with the fact that the Muslims in Wadj have become extremely secularized. Most Wadji Muslims live in urban areas, while many Christian Wadjis live in the more rural areas of Wadj. All experts can agree, however, that Wadj has become a very different place since Sultan Daoud was deposed. The Findings of the Census: Ethnic Groups: Persian 32%, Egyptian 28%, Arab 10%, Nubian 6% Azeri 5%, Berber 4%, Turkmen 4%, Other, including Kurd, Lur, and Baloch, 8%. Religions: Muslim 62% (approximately 1/2 Shia (Concentrated in Persian Wadj) and 1/2 Sunni (Concentrated in Egyptian Wadj)), Christian (Assyrian Orthodox, Concentrated in Persian Wadj) 12%, Christian (Coptic, Concentrated in Egyptian Wadj) 15%, Christian (Eastern Orthodox) 5%, Zoroastrian 4%, Christian (Catholic) 1%, Other 1%. |
