The Very Model of a Modern Major General
|
OOC: I've been busy, and I'm really sorry I haven't been able to post here. Still, Norightsia did an admirable job RPing the Raja IC: Raja James II Brooke of Sarawakh, Rani Saroja of Kashmir and the Punjab, and 5 rather foul-mouthed sailors were bobbing gently on the open water of the North Pacific, and food supplies were running short. "I say," exclaimed the Raja weakly, "Is that an island on the horizon?" One of the sailors rolled his eyes. This wasn't the first "Island" the Raja's exhausted mind had created. Still, despite his pampered upbringing, the Raja was taking this with a true stiff upper lip. To humor him, one of the sailors aimed his binoculars in the direction that the Raja was weakly pointing. Surprisingly enough, this had not been another of the Raja's delusions. A small island lay ahead of the lifeboat, and the crew, including the Raja and the Rani, began to row towards it. The boat landed with a satifying thud on a sandy beach on the northern side of the island. The crew staggered out, and lay out in the cool May sunshine, resting before the work of exploring their temporary home. |

OOC: Yeah I was going to wait for AA in another thread, but I think I'll go ahead with this. IC: The Gaki, a Kilo Class Submarine, was stationed some where in the Pacific when Glinn Damar recieved the transmission. Communications Officer: Sir we are recieving a transmission from Gul Hyun! Glinn Damar: I will take it in my office Communications Officer: Yes Sir! Glinn Damar walked down the tight corridor to his small captians room a few feet from the command bridge. Behind his small desk he open the tranmission from the Gul. Gul Hyun: Glinn Damar it's good to see you, I hope your post in the Pacific hasn't been a waste of your talent It was no secret that Glinn Damar hated his post, but he refused to allow the Gul to get to him. Glinn Damar: Of course not Gul, I am honored at this assignment. Gul Hyun: Well as mush as I feel we should keep you in your current patrol, command feels otherwise. Seems your our closest vessel to where the AU ship exploded and the higher ups want us to swept the area for survivors. understood? Glinn Damar: Crystal Gul, I will have the Gaki in the Bering Sea by morning Gul Hyun: Good to hear, Gul Hyun out. Glinn Damar raced back down the tight corridor to the command bridge and ordered his helmsmen to set a course for the Bering Sea. With any luck they'd make it to the last none location of the Greater Sakha. |

The Raja was scanning the horizon, as he did every moment that he could while he was stuck on that Godforsaken little rock. By now he assumed that it would be fruitless, but he checked all the same. Saroja wasn't doing well. She had a terrible cough, and James wanted to get her to a doctor as soon as he could. Just then, a small black speck appeared at the horizon. "Good Lord!" exclaimed James. "I think I see a ship!" The sailors got up excitedly and began to peer in the direction that the Raja was pointing. "It's getting bigger! It's coming towards us! Quick, build a fire so that they can find us." Soon, the fire sent a plume of smoke high into the air. "If they don't find us now," said the Raja, "they must be blind." |

The Gaki had been searching the Bering sea for a couple of days now with no success. Little was left of the "great ship" at the wreckage and there were no recorded islands or trade routes in the area. Suddenly however one of the officers got up and ran to Glinn Damar's captain room and knocked on the door. Glinn Damar: Enter! The officer entered the small office Officer: Sir we've picked up a small island on our visual scopes. We began to approach it and our thermal scanners picked up a concentration of heat on the beach. Sir we think it was a fire, which can only mean that the island is inhabited, it may even be the survivors sir. Glinn Damar: Really now, well then sound the alarm, get the men ready I want to be on that beach in 5 mins is that understood Officier: As you wish Glinn Within seconds of that conversation, a general alarm was sounded and Shalak-gul soldiers came to life. The sub itself got closer and closer to the beach and the survivors could now tell what it was. Even more so, they could tell from what country the sub was from. As the sailors lowered the lifeboats, the Shalak-gul and the Glinn himself boarded and began to head for the shore. Once there, they saw the remains of the fire that appeared to have been put out by a splash of water. Soldier: Orders sir? Glinn Damar pointed to the forest which lay ahead from the beach itself. Jankin (Search) he ordered and ten soldiers went in. The Glinn felt as if he had to wait on that beach for hours until finally, seven of the soldiers returned with the Raja and his wife in hand I say you scoundrels, you'll certainly never get a way with this said the Raja as they threw him and his wife before the Glinn. You could tell from the way the both of them looked they had given the soldiers a good fight. It would later be revealed to the Glinn that they were the cause of the three soldiers deaths. Please dear Raja is this anyway to treat your saviors? We are only here to take you and your beautiful wife back to the real world. Now, lets all get back to my ships so we can get off this forsaken rock. The Glinn ordered his soldiers to take the both of them to the life boats. Though they tried to resist, both the Raja and his wife were brought onboard the sub and taken to the brig. The sub was put into full reverse and left the island as the sun began to set. Their new destination was to be the Eastern Empire herself. |

"Have courage, Saroja," said the Raja. "We'll find a way to escape these fiends!" The Rani sighed to herself. Her fiance was a solidly good person, but he could be a bit thick at times. She had already mentally figured the number of Dynastians on the ship, and how well armed each one was. She knew which guard held the keys to the brig, and she had already calculated the probability of a succesful escape from the Dynastian submarine. The odds were not good. "I'm sure we will," she replied to her husband-to-be. |

It had been a day since the Raja and Rani were found, and finally The Gaki was home. After it's long trip around the battling fleets it had finally reached the ports on fen, an island just off the coast of the Eastern Empire. Fen was mostly a military installation, the main hub of TheNeoDynasty's naval forces. As the sub reached the docks, Glinn Damar began to give out the orders. Prepare the prisoners, I want them looking their best when I represent them to my superiors. The Sovereign will reward me handsomely I am assured. said Damar. Make sure to bring their weapons as well, they will be burned with the bodies of our fallen brothers. Yes, sir! Said the soldiers as the rushed below to retrieve both the prisoners and their weapons. It was a warm day in the Empire as Glinn Damar paraded down from his sub with his prisoners behind him. Gul Hyun was there to meet him, with a little bit of a shock on his face. He never really did expect Damar to find anyone out int eh Bering Sea, especially not the Raja of Sarawakh. Well, I'll be Glinn Damar, you have out done yourself said Hyun. Behind him was about 20 Shalak-gul soldiers. The Raja and his wife were escorted by 6 Shalak-gul including the one with their weapons in hand. Both of them carefully surveyed their surroundings and concluded that it was now or never to escape. |

OOC: If you don't mind, I'll obtrude myself onto this story, as I've been doing a dismal job of looking for the Raja. IC: A Norightsian helicopter finally made it over to Bering Island. The crew had been unable to contact command, and were forced to wander the Bering Sea. They had found no trace of the Raja on any of the islands they had searched thus far. Suddenly, they saw a wounded looking man stumbling towards the ocean from in land. The co-pilot shot a flare a few yards in front of the man, who looked up, dazed, at his vehicle of rescue, seeming not to comprehend. The chopper landed, and the man was brought in. After recieveing immediate medical attention while the helicopter stood mostionless on the beach, he was able to tell his story. Luckily, he was VanDemanian, and thus spoke Norightsian pretty well. "I was on a life boat, tasked by the Emperor Galerius of Norightsia to guard the Raja of Sarawakh. We finally came to land here, where the Emperor told us we would be picked up. But we saw a hufe fireball, and figured taht the ship was gone and we were stranded. When we saw what looked like a ship, we flaggd 'em down. But it was a Dynastian submarine. They tried to kill all us sailors, and stole the Raja and Rani. They went south." The pilot and co-pilot looked at each other intently. Imagine rescuing the Raja of Sarawakh! They would be famous! Without hesitation, they loaded the wounded man aboard and took off, headed south... |

Technically the Raja is already dead. No one, other than the Norightsian now know that the Raja and his wife are still alive (I think). An even with people knowing, only the Norightsian know that we have them, so if we do kill them few will know we did it. |

The Very Model of a Modern Major General

Raja James II Brooke was contemplating the various means of escape when suddenly Rani Saroja, with lightening quick reflexes, snatched the cavalry sabres that had been confiscated from her and her fiance. "My God Saroja!" yelled the Raja. "Are you mad?" the Rani rolled her eyes and tossed one of the sabres to James. "Shall we escape, dear?" she asked sweetly as she was cutting down a dynastian and grabbing his gun. The Raja, still baffled, began to fight the Dynastians. The Rani slashed another soldier, and, with a well-aimed shot took down another. "I say," cried the Raja as he parried a well aimed cut from a Dynastian knife, "Good shot!" He then took down a dynastian officer, and, with his lovely wife, made a hasty retreat towards a small Junk tied to the dock. The Raja and Rani got in and cut the ropes holding the boat to the dock. As they sailed off into the sunset, they took pot shots at the angry mass of Dynastians left on the dock. Later, when they had sailed out of sight of the dock, both knew they could relax. "My word Saroja," said the Raja. "I didn't know you could fight like that!" "It was nothing, my dear." said the Rani. "It's only the basic skills that a Rani must have. Besides, I was never all that good at shooting and fencing. My skills were always more equestrian." With that the Raja's eyes lit up. "Do you by any chance play polo?" |

The couple began to hea the sound of rotar blades in the distance. The Raja immediately whipped out a pistol he had managed to steal. James: Faith Saroja! They've gone and sent the air cavalry after us! Saroja: No James, listen. Its not coming from behind us... The Raja looked intently behind the junk, but saw nothing. Suddenly, his wife called out. Saroja: James! Look! It's bearing Norightsian markings! The Raja scratched his head, then queried. James: I say, how do you know what Norightsian markings look like... Saroja: Don't be childish, James. They've come for us! James: Well sink me! It is Norightsian! Any chance Galerius and the lot managed off that ice cube? Saroja: I suppose we are about to find out. Here! They've dropped a ladder. James: You first, my dear. A gentleman could never... The Rani rolled her eyes and ascended. When they were both at the top, they found not an Emperor, but one of their dejected old companions from the island, and a couple of hotshot pilots. The co-pilot leaned back and grinned. Co-Pilot: Where to? Saroja: Kuching, if you please. Co-Pilot: That's gonna be a god-awful fare, Your Majesties... "I say, you're charging us!?" faded into the sea along with the accompanying laughter as the helicopter sallied on. |

The helicopter landed gently on the Raja's private helicopter pad at his palace in Kuching. A brass band played the national anthem as the Raja and the Rani walked out of the helicopter. Lord Kitchener made his way out onto the tarmac to greet them. "Welcome home, James," he said as he shook the Raja's hand emphatically. Kitchener went to the podium that had been set up, and began to speak to the crowd that had assembled. "Due to the return of our Raja," at this the crowd began to cheer wildly, "I now, with great pleasure, give up all my powers as regent! And now, ladies and gentlemen, I believe that the Raja has a few words to say." Raja James II Brooke approached the podium. "To start off with, I would like to announce the date, unfortunately postponed, of my wedding to the beautiful Rani. It will occur on (RL this Friday). However, I have some unfortunate news as well. The Greater Sakha was attacked by the Eastern Empire, who, I do not doubt, have killed Emperor Galerius of Norightsia and the Godking of Greater Sakha. Saroja and I were captured by the Eastern Empire, and we were held against our will. It was a miracle that we escaped. I must take this opportunity to ask Parliament to draft a declaration of war against the Eastern Empire to avenge the wrongs they have perpetrated against our allies in Norightsia ang Greater Sakha, and to punish them for holding against her will the Rani of Kashmir and the Punjab. Sarawakh cannot tolerate this behavior, and we shall not let the Eastern Empire go unpunished." The crowd stood stunned as the Raja and the Rani walked together into the palace. |
