French wines are way over-priced at the moment. And, California wines are wiping the floor for most of the international medals lately. The french wine producers have lost their edge. |

I actually like Texas wines... maybe it's just the red-blooded Texan in me speaking, but they have a certain twang that you just can't find anywhere else... |

My dear friends you are spiging with an Italian person...and talk about wine? The italian wines are the best on the earth; i can suggest you San Giovese o Chainti Gallo Nero. Only other stanger wine that i like is the Hungaryan imperial Tokai. |

Oh, but it has to be 4 Pintos or better!! I like some Italian wines, particularly the big Tuscans, and the Chianti Reservas! For whites, yes, give me a good white Bordeaux from the Graves. For sweets, German Qualitaitsvein mit Predikat!! For general consumption - Napa Merlots, Washington Pinots, or (yes) Texas Cabs! For desert, of course, the above mentioned Tokaj, or a fine Sauturnes! And no, CE, there is more to wine than getting drunk - for that, I recommend a nice English Perry Wine, or Mogan David MD 20-20, or Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill! |
