Tel Aviv, (officially) UN Mandate, Israel
16/03/06

Report by Ariel Israeli, TAT (Tel Aviv Times)

The atmoshpere in the United State of Israel's government's temporary building in Tel Aviv was tense. On a small television screen was a life broadcast of the debates from the Sinai Peace Conference.

Two proposals were already rejected by the involved nations, and the delegations from around the world seemed to start losing their patience.

A bunch of youngsters were in the middle of a fight, probably resulted from the fact that they have been awake for the past 24 hours.
"They are going to mess our cause with the international politics of the entire Middle East. All we ever wanted was peace and quiet!", says one of them.

An old man sits quietly in the side, follows the Sinai Conference broadcast.
"I've been an Israeli for my entire life. For decades I've seen this land occupied and reoccupied. There was little we could do. Now, for the first time, I have hope that the regional powers will recognize our right for security and independence - for the sake of the regional stability. It is their interest no less than our's."

Suddenly someonse shouts - "The Trilateral Commission's delegation is about to issue it's response to our territorial proposal!"

"We object to USOI's proposed boundaries. We will not consider any more boundary proposals before the Baghdad Pact vote on the Canal is concluded."

Everyone went silence. Some bursted in tears.
Only the old man kept whispering: "I have hope... I have hope..."

All over the land, people are listening to the radio broadcast from the Sinai, waiting for updates.

"This is a broadcast from Kol Israel radio.
The discussions in the Sinai conference appear to be over, and a state of emergency has fallen over Israel. In the next couple of hours, the Empire of Paradise, with or without a UN coalition, is expected to invade to Israel and wage a war against the Trilateral Commission and Nag Ehgoeg.

We are now going to Haifa, where addresses the nation.

"My family, friends, children of Israel. This is a hard time for us. The United State of Israel, which always wanted to become a force of stability in the land, now finds itself in the middle of a terrible conflict.

This is not the way I thought it would be... But in order to secure the freedom and security of at least a part of the land and its inhabitants, we hereby declare the foundation of United State of Israel in Northern Israel, in the part given to us by The Resplendent Dawn.
The United State of Israel prepared for this situation of independence for a long time. The nation will be ran by our temporary government, based in Haifa.
After the war is over, we will negotiate with the winning power over the control of other parts of the land. Northern Israel is a begining, but certainly not everything.

Our nation is sadly created by war, and therefore will always pursue peace."

A nation is borned... Alright, we are now forced to end our broadcast... good luck, everybody..."

In a cigar smoke filled parlor in a mansion overlooking the sea - three TC Policy Council members are assembled; several big-screen TVs were tuned in to BBC and PNTV, with another TV tuned in to a broadcast from the United State of Israel.

An Israeli anchor was making some comments.

"Puh!!! These wily Jews have manipulatd the Baghdad Pact to do their bidding. They sit around while the Baghdad Pact attacks us, and then they move in and take our land. A clever tribe, the sons of Jacob. They wait for the goyim to rip each other to shreds and then pick their pockets," observed Milos Ustase. "Get me a fresh card." He didn't even know what cards were in his hands, because he was fixated on the news reports.

Alex Gottlieb drew a 10 of diamonds. "Shut up! You want to take this outside? I am a Jew. And isn't your dad a Jew?"

"Ustase? Hell no. Ustase is a solid gentile name. From Croatia. We were involved with the Nazis even."

"Fuck you. Little bitch." Gottlieb put more dollar bills in the pile. "You might as well say that the Baghdad Pact is using the USOI as its pawn. Look at it this way... the BP is using some innocent nation as an excuse to directly undermine the BP's enemies without making it appear that the BP has any imperialist intent."

Ustase, "Yeah, the BP and USOI are just making out to be two allied parasites, sucking the blood from this world."

"Gaping twats, both of you. Why can't we work with the BP?" said Nephi Karekin, who was dealing.

Gottlieb shot Karekin an odd look. "You can't be serious. If you are, you know you won't see the light of another day."

Karekin concentrated on the cards and did not look up. "Nah, I'm not serious. But doesn't it cross your minds? Why can't we be friends with the Baghdad people? They've got power. They've got money. They've got influence. That's a Most Holy Triniity right there. That's that we want. What are we getting from Nag Ehgoeg? Occasional deliveries of germ agents from Syntha Prime? Definitely some nice shit we can't concoct ourselves, but I guarantee if we go to the other side, I can be on the phone with Emperor Muhammad bin Raghead and we'll have 60,000 Paradisan nukes given to us as gifts. Ask for 60,000, we'll get 70,000. Ask for 70,000, we'll get 80,000. In Baghdad the street's are paved with gold, my man!" Karekin collected all the bets. "Alright... flip your cards."

Gottlieb chuckled. "Keep talking like that Karekin and you'll have an Armenian Massacre on your ass."

Ustase threw up his arms and said, "Nice, I've got two pairs, so pay up."

Karekin threw down his cards and pushed his pile of dollar bils to Ustase. "Alright ya fuckers, I'd better get going. The missus wants me dining fine tonight. But keep in mind what I'm saying. The Baghdad Pact sure as hell is something." Karekin got up, put on his suit, put out his cigarette, and left the room.

While Ustase was counting his money, Gottlieb looked at the TV. The USOI official, Erez Rochman, was still talking. ...Our nation is sadly created by war, and therefore will always pursue peace.....

Gottlieb shook his head and turned away, running his hands through his hair. He turned to Ustase and said, "Karekin, Karekin. I don't trust that Armenian motherfucker. 'call up Emperor Muhammad?' 'go to the other side?' What the fuck is up with that dude!"

Ustase was still counting his cash and replied, "Don't you worry. You're not alone in your hunches. I talked to Carlyle last week and he said PolyCon (OOC: The Department of Political Economics, the Trilateral Commission's secret police) opened a file on Karekin months ago. Obviously Carlyle's thinking the same thing. If our hunches prove correct, Karekin is going to find himself between a rock and a hard motherfucking place."

The Haganah senior command was gathered in mount Tavor, Northern Israel.

"-Any news, Yigal?"
"-Yeah, why the hell are we here?"

"Yes. I've got a phone call from."

"That sissy? I never really understood why you respect him."
"Sissy or not, he had some important news. The Empire of Paradise is expected to invade to Israel, probably with UN assistance."

The commanders' faces reflected their shock.
"What are your orders?"

"We are not a standard army. We stand no chance against any of the armies involved in this conflict. That's why we'll concentrate on defending Northern Israel and it's population."

But Yigal Ben-Shalom looked more serious than that.

""Is there something alse?"
"As a matter of fact, there is. I've been trying to contact officials from the Paradisian army. I want us to fight along their side. I don't wish to get our independence only by the power of foreigners, friendly as they may be."

"You realize the geeks from the USOI government will be freaked out."
"Yes, I know. But it is for their own good."

OOC: TC, I loved your last post, it was brilliant :D

"This is Kol Israel reporting.
We are glad to report that peace has been given another chance in the Sinai conference. All of the involved nations seem to make great efforts in order to prevent war in Israel.

The Israeli Prime Minister left Northern Israel to the Sinai in this difficult time, in order to replace to late minister of foreign affairs, Jacob Louis, who is rumoured to have been murdered by poisoning. It is suspected that he was murdered in order to prevent the signing of a peace contract."

The Haganag high command was still waiting for orders in a cave in mount Tavor.

"For fuck sake, NOW they want peace??"
That's it, I'm calling him right now!

"Hello?"
"Who's that?"
"Benjamin Carey"
"Where's ?"
"Who's asking?"
"Tell him it's Yigal Ben-Shalom".

was using the small break in negotiations in the Sinai to get to know the representatives of the participating nations.

"Yes, I agree. Preventing the war should be our top priority goal, and..."
"?"
"Yes, Benjamin?
"You've got an urgent phone call"
"Alright, I'll take it in my room. Excuse me, gentlemen."

"Yes?"
"? It's Yigal Ben-Shalom, listen, I..."
"Yigal, listen, I can't talk to you right now"
"Can't talk to me? Can't talk to me?? no, you'll listen, god damnit. I got the entire Haganah ready, on full alert, ready for an invasion, and I have to learn from the radio that Paradise won't be invading??? do you have an idea how dangerous it is for us? did you know some of our men got arrested?!"
"Yes, I've heard. And I also heard that you want to join forces with the Paradisian army to occupy central Israel.
Listen, you told me that your goal is to protect Israeli citizens. Now, I know you're a military man, but just think with your head instead of your gun for a second. If you'll be caught fighting with Paradise, the USOI will be considered responsible. We are facing some of the world's most powerful nations. Should they decide to attack us, they'll wipe us off the map in a matter of hours. That's why are taking the peaceful path. It's the best one we have."

Ben-Shalom wanted to shoot the phone that moment, but instead, he listened.

"Alright. I understand. The Haganah won't do anything for now. For now. But I can't promise you that we'll hold our fire if we'll be attacked."
"Listen, Yigal. Give us softy diplomats a chance. Once we'll reach a final agreement, United State of Israel will secure its independence for good. That's when I'll need you to create the Israeli army."
"Alright. I'll talk to you later."
"Alright. Later."

The young Haganah commanders heard the conversation.

"I can't believe this! once again, you listen to that soft ass politician. I tell you, we could have started a war here that could have brought our independence without all these stupid negotiations!"
"Shut up! it's an order!. I won't tolerate this. I've made up my mind. The Haganah will do what's best for the people of Israel."

Ben-Shalom went out of the cave and lit up a cigarette.
The young commanders were still inside the cave.

"Can you believe this?"
"No. We're warriors, for god sake. They think they can count on other nations to give us our independence. Now Yigal thinks like that too. I tell you, independence will only be brought by the blood of Israel's finest."

The Sharm-el-Shiekh international airport was extremely busy that evening.
An unidentified beautiful woman was walking with a small suitcase.

She presented her diplomatic passport, and went through a quick security check.
Her suitcase went through the automatic checking, as she smiled to the security officer.
The pistol in the suitcase was undiscovered. The suitcase was covered in lead.

Pretty soon she was on the plane back to Israel. As the plane climbed high, she gazed in the scenic view of Sharm. Only a couple of days before, she was there, in the conference.
She was a part of the USOI delegation. Working closely with Jacob Louis gave her the opportunity, and she sure had the motives.

Little did he know that only a while ago she was recruited by the GI, the organiztion for Greater Israel. She had no intention to let Jack Louis give up on any parts of the Homeland, and despised the USOI.

The Sinai conference froze. The GI believed that for now they achieved their goal. They had another mission for her now, and she was called back home.

A short while after she landed in Tel Aviv.
She went outside the terminal and called a cab, and got on it as it stopped. "To Haifa, and quickly".
The driver remained silent as he drove her out of the airport. After about an hour of driving, she finally understood what happened.
"Oh, shit!!!"
She tried to escape from the riding cab, but the doors were locked, and it was too late - she was already inside the Nagian military base at Jerusalem.

OOC: ... I'm gonna assume you want me to post here. If you had your own story, I'll edit. Seeing as you didn't contact me before this I have no idea how you want me to react - IC or OOC. As I said, if you have a story going, feel free to inform me and I'll edit/delete this - but you drive into a Nagian Special Forces base, and I'm gonna over-react.
IC:

A piercing shriek rocks the cab followed by a blinding flash. The woman in the cab hears breaking glass, and her nostrils fill with smoke. Even as she thinks "Oh shit!!!" she decends into blackness.

****

She wakes in a dark padded cell, wearing a simple one piece grey jumpsuit. The material isn't uncomfortable, and provides a pleasant body tempurature. Though she didn't know it, this simple garment was once the standard clothing of Nagian Citizens - though it's plain design certainly looked like prison garb. As she adjusts to the light, she realises the light is more like the red light of dark room, or the floressance given out by black lights and UV lamps rather than simple low light - and that it was diffusing in from a simple looking title on the ceiling.

Every item on her person had been removed - clothes, jewrelly, everything. She felt vaguely numb and slightly wet. Every orrifice felt... unusal... like it had been thoughly - intrusively - cleaned and searched. Every tooth in her mouth felt different - cleaned in the examination. She couldn't tell in the low light, but her hair seemed to be an inch shorter.

She felt faint, still a little woozie from the drugs.

What had happened to the cab and it's driver, she didn't know.

The door to the cell had a simple window, it opens - the same low light being prevailent outside the room casts a dim shadow of the man looking into the cell. The window closes and a man enters the cell - decked out in full battle armour but with no weapons.

She can see movement in the hall, but has no idea how many people are out there, or how they are armed.

"Citizenry, name, rank and serial number." The guard asks in flawless Arabic followed by Hebrew and then English. The English is tainted by a slight accent.

While she didn't know, the cab had been disassmbled by a Special Forces Bomb Squad and it's driver given the same treatment.

OOC: Yeah, I did want you to post your own continuation.
In my story, the cab driver was a Nagian spy/soldier/undercover, but you seemed to take it to a different direction, which might be interesting as well.

IC:

Just minutes ago he stopped his car, painted as a cab, in the gate of the Nagian base in Jerusalem.

"Tell your commanders I've got a present for them".

The Nagian soldier called his senior officer in the radio. A short while after, a Nagian officer stepped towards the car.
"What is it, citizen?"
"I brought you someone you'll be interested in."
"I see. Drive your car to the car park over there, then get out of it, very slowly".

He drove the car in, and went out of it as the officer said.

A group of Nagian soldiers, fully armed, stepped to his direction.
"Listen", he said, "I brought you the killer of Jacob Louis, and if you... what are you doing?! let go of me, watch out!"
It took a little struggle, but eventually he fell.

When he woke up in his cell, he knew they made a mistake when they sent their own man to hand the killer to the Nagians. The Haganah's SY (Sherut Yediot, intelligence) devision traced her in the Sinai, but couldn't tell the Nagians anything, since they would have arrested them as well.

"Citizenry, name, rank and serial number.", the Nagian investigator asked repeatedly, in several languages. He understood them all, but only as the investigator asked in Hebrew, he replied.
"David Arazi. I'm not a soldier, I'm a civilan, and I'm held here against my will."
"I see. And what is your citizenry?"
Arazi had a spark in his eyes, as he replied, "I'm a citizen of United State of Israel"
"Clever are we? I'll ask you just one more time, what is your citizenry?!"
Arazi took a deep look to the Nagian's eyes, and then repeated: "United State of Israel".

The last thing he remembered from that evening was the furious look on the Nagian investigator's face, then a sharp pain through his spine and a complete darkness.

Far away from there, in Haifa, the phone rang in Avshalom Goren's room.
He was responsible for taking care of USOI's security issues - its unofficial Defense Minister.

"Hello?"
"The King was captured, Killing Beauty too. Mission complete. We need to get the King out of the Nagian's hands. Use your magics."

Before he was able to say anything, the person in the other side of line hung up.

Goren knew that this time he was way over his head. If Arazi breaks up, the Nagians will eventually realize that the Haganah were working with an official from the USOI. Yes, Goren was working on his own, but he knew that it doesn't matter. The Nagians couldn't care less. USOI is at risk, because of him, and because of his loyalty to a dear friend which was now gone. If Jack would have been here, he would have convinced him never to do it.

Now he sat in his dark room, considering his possiblities. Maybe Arazi could take it. After all, he is the SY's finest. No, it can't be. The Nagians know how to get what they want to know out of people. Maybe.
He looked at the phone. Another possibility was to tell about the entire affair. But he knew that it will cost him his career, his life.

OOC: Nag, I'm basically giving you the opportunity to decide what he did, and if Arazi broke up ;)
