Yes, I know that we were going to make Australia part of Asia, and that would be that. But, I got thinking. Max Barry created this game. He foots the bills. He took time to write the code. And he's Australian. It'd be kinda ungreatful to put Australia in Asia. So, I created Australian Continent. Sorry if this contradicts plans, but to be frank, it would be stupid to not honor the land of the almighty Barry! So, if you want a country in Australia, come to Australian Continent! EDIT FROM PARADISE Arguments for integration of Australia into the Asian Continent - Less regions: more control over them and more interactions between them; - Bigger region: more interactions in the region itself. Arguments for a fully independent Australian Continent - More representative of real world continents; - To honor Max Barry (Quaon); - Continents are different worlds (Elyk). |

You probably see if everybody agrees with this idea before doing too much work on it. |

I'll leave it as it is now. Though, really, destroying Australia? That's really rude to Max. ;) |

Well I had also had a Australia region created for such an event but I think I let it die off. I'd put a colony in yours but I'm not sure if I want to stretch myself that thin yet. Until this is decided upon I'll hold off from adding my Australia map to the Asian one. |

I disagree. We must have the fewest regions possible to keep control over them and to maximize interactions between each region. That's why I was against the creation of two American continents rather than one big American continent (and I'm still against, I'm just waiting March 27th to prove it and merge the two continents). No, Australia should stay in the Asian continent. |

Should we get a new map then, which includes Australia? |

I believe that we should keep the American Continents seperate. They are two completly different worlds for gosh sake! The same thing goes with Australia. Asia and Australia are completly different from one another! Even in this game, it seems that the N. American Continent is very different from S. America, and should be left seperate. This is just my opinion. |

In real life, the continents are not separated, they form a whole (we call this Earth actually). In nationstates, having less regions means having more nations in each regions, therefore this would lead to more interactivity in the regions themselves and between them. Yes, we could have many small regions, but why? Actually, I find this irrational  |

How about we leave it like South America and North America was before the merge and unmerge: technically one of our regions, but not interegional? Or, can we have the same planne we had with the merged American Continent? 2 nations per? |

Sorry Paradise, the America's are thriving... I think we should make an Australian Continent by itself, but not until later on. Let the America's settle in... |

Imagine how active would be a unified American Continent. There would be 39 nations and the regional forum would be the most active of all regional forums. Now if we keep them separated, I think North America can survive but South America, once the initial boost is finished, will become practically an inactive forum. Just look at the post count, North American Continent has two times more posts than South American Continent already and they both were created about 1½ week ago. So, I disagree with you when you say "America's are thriving". North America is, not South America. |

I think Australia should be added to the Asian Continent. Asia has been kind of slow lately and could use a boost. Plus, If we do an Austrailia Region, my nation may have to move since its closer to Australia than it is to Asia, something I really dont want to do. |

I say: No Australia! Its too small to make a beand new continent, but the whole Asian Map will need to be redone, which is a lot of work. Why do we need Australia anyways? |

One thing is sure: an Australian Continent would be a disaster in term of participation. I think it would be much worse than the actual South American Continent. |

If we could get one more Neo-Nazi nation in SA, it would thrive. The NA is surviving because of the war against communism. The SA will survive with more Neo-Nazis. Okay, maybe you are right about the Unified Asia thing. I'm still for the independent continenet, but if we're going to keep it same region, can we have two nations per, like you did with the uniifed American continent? |

That is not why NA is thriving. Look at the post counts. Things like Conventions and expansions get the buzz. There aren't any big wars in the Americas at all. |

I say no Australia and a unified American Continent. Paradise, just do the un-democratic thing and go with your instincts. |
