Once upon a hot desert day, one of Elyk the Minor's poorest citizens was traveling across the desert when he was attacked by bandits. He quickly raced away from them, but than later realized the bandits had stopped chasing him. He did not know why, so he followed their tracks about 14 miles West, until he caught up too them. He noticed they were laughing, and tallying something. So, before long, he got out his trusty sword, and beheaded 2 of the bandits, with one still left. He quickly approached the last one, and demanded he tell him what they were doing there. The bandit simply replied, "To any man who drinks from this water, there lives will change forever". And with that, the last bandit stabbed himself in the heart. The citizen was cofused with what he said, but that looking down, he saw a little pond, that was almost dried up. He went down towards it, and noticed the water looked very contaminated, full of disease. But he remembered what the bandit said, and so he dipped his finger into the puddle, and licked it. At that very moment, the ground beneath him began to shake, and eventually it craked open, and the poor citizen fell in. He was so frightened, he felt like he was going to wet himself. Once he reached the bottom, he realized there was no way out of this crevess. So he said to himself "Why must I be trapped down here, without anything to eat or drink"? Than, all of a sudden, a huge table of the most delcious food imaginable appeared just a couple of footsteps away. On the table as well, there was a little card, which read "To any man who eats this food, he must sign his soul to the master of the underworld". The man was curious about the letter, and to what would happen if he did not eat the food, and starve to death. So the man decided, what the heck, and began to gorge himself like never before. He than felt a strange rush of coldness run down his spine, and through his whole body. At that moment, he could feel nothing. He ate some turkey, but the turkey had no taste too it. Niether did the wine, or the bread, or even the sand underneath his boots. He than realized, his life was taken from him. Although he now could have anything he ever wanted, he would never again feel the warmth of day, nor the pleasure of God. The End.

I know what this story needs-- LITERARY CRITICISM!!!!!!

The fact that the narrator remains unnamed is very significant. He represents the Id, the wild untamed desire to take without thought. The pool represents the corruption of money. By sticking his finger into the Bourgeous Pool filled with the germs of Capitalism and the pond scum of the elite, he has corrupted himself. He is no longer the pure Proletariat Peasant that he once was. The opening of the earth represents a giant womb. By entering the womb, the Narrator fulfills his Oedipal desire to lay with his mother. By eating the food, the beggar fulfils his desire to kill his father. However, now that he has accomplished these most base of desires, he realizes the monster that he has become and falls into the hellish pit of madness.

And Antigone gets locked in a cave, whatever. Call Creon and make sure Haemon is dead. <_<
