Organization of Petroleum Exporting Middle Eastern Countries Article I The Parties agree that they will not compete with each other but rather cooperate to ensure a fair price is ascertained and that the global energy market remains stable. To ensure that this aim is achieved, all Parties shall exchange embassies and maintain lines of communication. Article II Representatives of the Parties shall meet quarterly to discuss current events as they affect the oil industry and to set a range of prices within which barrels of oil should be sold. This price should allow each Party to make a reasonable profit while keeping the price of oil in a reasonable range. Emergency meetings can be called if it is believed that the situation warrants immediate action on the part of OPEMEC. Article III The Empire of Paradise(hereafter Paradise) hereby commits itself to assisting the Aristocratic Dominion of Al Araam(hereafter Al Araam) develop its oil producing and distributing capacity to current world standards. In return the Al Araam will pay 15% of all oil production revenues to the Empire of Paradise. New Harumf official response: This is an outrage. As a net importer of crude, we feel the Middle East is taking advantage of political conditions in the world by setting prices artificially high, and demand the imediate lowering of prices to reasonable levels. We suggest US$30.00 per Barrel. If the lowering of crude does not happen, we will cut all contracts from the Middle East and do business only with African and South American nations. Standard Oil Company and Texaco, energy companies in The CNNP along with the Pinochet Administration have anounced their pledge to remain independent of OPEMEC. We will continue to maintain selling prices of NS$30-40 a barrel, for our Catholic brethren- we will offer prices of NS$20-25 a barrel. |

We believe that $60 a barrel is too high at this time. We propose what we believe to be a more reasonable price of $45/barrel. However with the prospect of war in the Persian Gulf looking like it could easily become a reality, oil price may soon be on the rise. Public statement: "Any attempt by the CNNP to undersell OPEMEC will have a neglible effect. Even if all of the CNNP's oilfields were producing at full capacity they would be hard pressed to come up with a tenth of what Paradise's fields alone are producing. Oil fields in the CNNP are few and far between. Araamenian experts believe that in filling the Harumfian order they will be nearing peak capacity. The CNNP is not and will never be a major player in the global oil market and had not been invited to join OPEMEC. So their announcement that they will not join is not surprising." --Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Minister of Oil and Energy OOC: From now on, if something is not labeled as a public statement it is a private communication between member nations. Also, you will notice that both Al Araam and Paradise, Iran and Saudi Arabia respectively, are both major oil producers by geography. The CNNP on the otherhand is not. From looking at maps of African oil fields, it has become more and more apparent that one could count the number of oil fields in the CNNP on one hand. Saudi Arabia produces 10 million plus barrels/day. Iran currently produces 4 million barrels/day but if things returned to the way they used to be infrastructure wise, they could produce 6 million. Ethiopia, where I believe the CNNP is located, produces 0 barrels/day. Eritrea also produces 0 barrels/day. Sudan only produces 410,300 barrel/day. So, I dont think that the CNNP is supplying anyone. |

Ethiopian Oil OOC: You should check this out... True, Ethiopia hasn't produced a drop in real life, but that could change; people don't invest in such expensive ventures in real life unless they were pretty certain of "striking it rich". |

Oil is in itself a lucrative industry and a small field would be worth huge amounts of money. That does not mean you will be able to export upwards of a million barrels daily. There are only twenty two countries in the entire world the produce over a million barrels daily. So unless this turns out to be absolutely massive, there's no way the CNNP can export over a million barrels. |

The Assassination Army has recently seen a lot of conflicts, and has been growing at an incredible rate. As such, our demand for Oil has risen and our need for trade across the globe as well. As such, we are looking to find a contract for Oil. We would require a minimum of 1 million barrels a day. In return we would be willing to pay simply with money, or another trade good of your choice. This potential contract wil not remain open for long, as we have investments elsewhere as well. |

OOC: Al Araam is now producing oil at a reasonable rate and is looking for contracts. The current price of crude oil is $65/barrel. PM me your orders. IC: The first convoy of oil tankers to leave Bushehr, Al Araam steamed past the CNNP fleet, their two escort cruisers in front and to the rear of the monumental ships. At least one was using the "sprint and drift" method to keep tabs on the CNNP submarines that were surely accompanying the fleet. The three oil tankers, painted in the national colors of Al Araam, would make port in Chabahar, Sistan to offload their cargo of black gold. They would, of course, have no trouble passing through the Strait of Hormuz and the captains of the Araamenian escort cruisers seemed much more wary of the CNNP warships than the Sistani warships they docked next to at Chabahar. |

All CNNP ships will report towards the Straits of Hormuz, toward the Gulf of Oman...they now pose no "threat" to Al Araamian shipping. I sincerely hope that oil being delivered to a Sistani port is going for sell in the international market... We hope that this move will prove our intentions of no aggression towards Al Araamian merchant marine fleets, however, we will continue to negotiate their redeployment in Persian Gulf--since they have been there prior to the outbreak of hostilities between the Principality of Sistan and the People's Federal Republic of The CNNP. -- Vice-Presidente Silvio Berlusconi |

These are actual prices from January 23rd. I actually averaged the prices out, so these aren't even the high prices. Anyone selling too much lower than this will likely find themselves losing money. |

Yes, and Al Araam has the navies of three different warring nations in her back yard. It's becoming dangerous for shipping to travel in the Persian Gulf. Neither the CNNP or TC currently have enough production to supply much more than themselves, so where else are you going to get it? |
