SBC: Sarawakhan Broadcasting Company

Hello, I'm Anne Caruthers, and this is the SBC. In our top story tonight, the parliament has elected Sir Pertab Singh as Prime Minister. Sir Singh, who is of Indian descent, is the first non-European Prime Minister Sarawakh has ever had. He had this to say about the election: "I'm overwhelmed. I never expected to become Prime Minister. I am grateful to the people of Sarawakh for seeing fit to trust me as their leader. I pledge to continue the fight for equal rights for non-whites Sarawakh. When I look at all the reforms that have been put in place since Raja James II took the throne, I am optimistic about achieving these goals. The people, both Native Sarawakhan and European, have called for equality, and, with the help of Raja James II, I intend to bring it to them." Sir Singh's reception has been good with the people of Sarawakh. He was given a parade when he arrived at Kuching to assume his duties. Raja James II released this statement: "I am looking forward to working with Sir Singh. Together we can eliminate prejudice from Sarawakh all together."

--BREAKING NEWS--

Hello, I'm Lakhshmi Gandhi. The SBC has just recieved breaking news that there has been an assassination attempt against Prime Minister Sir Pertab Singh. While the Prime Minister was taking a morning walk through the James Brooke I Memorial Gardens in downtown Kuching, he was attacked by a lone gunman. The man fired a shot at the Prime Minister, missed, and then shot himself in the head. He was carrying no identification of any kind, and most of his face was destroyed in the blast when he committed suicide. The Raja was not harmed. The gunman did not make any statements as he attempted to kill the Prime Minister, and no groups have claimed responsibility. Hiram Cavendish, the chief of police for Kuching, said the he believed the gunman was working alone, and that this was an isolated incident. Others have speculated that Armenoni Separatists are responsible for the blast. If you are just tuning in, Prime Minister Sir Pertab Singh...

The Assassination Army hopes that the criminals behind this attempt are captured before another attempt is made. If there is anything we can do, please dont hesitate to ask.

OOC: I just realized. An army of Assassin's is against assassination attempts. I need to re-think my policies...

Hello, I'm Evelyn Fink-Nottle, and this is the SBC. In our top story tonight, parliament announced today that Bertram Lord Kitchener would act as regent until the fate of Raja James has been determined. Lord Kitchener was summoned to a session of Parliament where, in a short and somber ceremony, he pledged to act as regent until the Raja's return, or until such time as the Raja has been proclaimed dead. Lord Kitchener made this speech after being appointed regent:

"It is with a heavy heart that I assume the position of regent for His Majesty. I sincerely hope that I shall only take on this task for a short time, and that the Raja and his fiance are returned to us. While they are gone, however, I pledge to run this nation in a manner that the Raja would make the Raja proud. I also pledge that I will do everything within my power to ensure that the Raja returns to Sarawakh one day."

The parliament of Kashmir and the Punjab has appointed Sir Satadhanvan Jagduri as regent for the Rani.

Stay tuned to the SBC for more updates on the situation in the North Pacific...
