On a windy afternoon in the capital, some time had passed since the UN had promised action against the Sistanis for their attack on the city of Assab... From within the confines of the National Security Administration building and the Presmodium. General Anna: Mr. President, our deadline has been reached. Do you wish to authorize Executive Order 187? President Pinochet: This is the president of The CNNP, I am authorizing Executive Order 187... --With that several men in suits carrying suitcases entered both the presidential chamber and command center of the NSA. General Anna: Verbal confirmation confirmed, requiring authorization codes. The suitcases popped open before the president, and he was handed a small envelope...he opened the envelope (the general in the NSA is doing the same) and saw a folded slip of paper with a code written on it. President Pinochet: I read Alpha, Iota, Tango, Omega. General Anna: Confirming...I read Alpha, Iota, Tango, Omega. The order is confirmed. President clicks off the phone... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All units prepare...radioing in Red October... Telecommunication comes in to the submarine, ordering it to engage the silent drive. Comrade Captain Castillo: It has begun, it is now in God's hands... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Republican Guards were dispatched at sea, floating on a raft awaiting their target... Then around 5:00 in the evening, they sighted the carrier. Lt. Ramirez ordered his commando to maintain silence and renounce their Portugese/Spanish accents. He then sent up a flare... |

-CV-01, PNS Tempest- It was a day like any other day for the Tempest and her crew. The sun was shining, the sea breeze was blowing the salty air into people's hair, and men worked on the deck. Well, what deck there was. In the air above the carrier, a large boiler hung from a huge crane. It was the first of eight that would be installed. The ship's turbines would be installed as soon as the boilers were finished, and then the interior of the ship could be constructed. If all went according to plan, the Tempest and her sisters would be launched and comissioned in a few more months. Meanwhile, off the coast of the Arabian Peninsula near the Oaksendom/Paradise border, another carrier noticed the flare and changed course to investigate... |

It was an exceptionally nice day for the captain of the Neo-Macedonian air craft carrier, The Joan. She had made her voyage to Rome where the representatives made their requests on behalf of the Queen and were no on their journey home. The captain was a laid back kind of guy, who was in his chair reading the latest news threads. The captain had chose to take the Suez canal to the red sea and then follow it to the Gulf of Aden. That's where they were the gulf of Aden as they tugged along on their journey back to Neo-Macedonia. The captain felt that it would be a simple, with no surprises however, that had been left to be determined. It was during their long trek in the Gulf of Aden that one of the sailors on the bow of the carrier when he spotted a flare. He radioed the bridge... Captain, said the communications officers Yes? It would appear that an officer on the flight deck has spotted a flare off the right side of our bow, show we check it out? Hmmm, well we are Catholics are we not? It wouldn't be right to just leave someone out their, especially if it's a sinking ship with a crew still aboard. Have the helmsmen change course immediately. Yes, sir. The massive carrier began to change course and headed for whatever, or whoever that flare had come from. |

A Norightsian cruiser, the Mergui, was also in the area. She was part of a larger fleet moving to Africa. Her mission in the Gulf of Aden was top secret: escort a cargo ship carrying a payload known only to top military officials to the CNNP. At about 1700 hours, the sailors notied a blood-red flare to the NW. The equipment suggested that a large ship was in the vicinity. Possibly an aircraft carrier, battleship, or oil tanker. Captain Hexius Varrus radioed the fleet and asked for all shipping positions in the area. The message that came back was simple, no cargo ships, no tankers, not allied vessels. At 1715 he radioed a nearby Neo-Macedonian carrier for answers. While waiting for a reply he set a course for the site. |

With notice of three ships, the commandos were a bit uneasy... Lt. Ramirez: We cannot contact those ships, only the Sistani carrier. Any other contact would jeopardize the mission. Can anyone identify the other 2? Peon: The other carrier looks like a NeoMacedonian, and the cruiser looks like a Norightsian. What do you want to do, Lt.? Lt. Ramirez: We have orders for strict radio silence, however, I am obligated to inform our allies that they should steer clear of our course. Do we an emergency frequency to either the two surface ships or Red October? Peon: Sir, it would be far too risky to radio the sub, she has gone deep; even with our encription, the Sistanis would be able to trace the transmission. Sir, we might have to break radio silence on the emergency encription to at least one of the surface ships. Lt. Ramirez: Negative...if anyone is going to be radioed it is going to be the sub. Our transmission to any one of the surface ships would be even more tracible than one to the sub. Peon: Sir...what do you want me to do? A long silence came over the commandos, a great potential threat came over the mission. Lt. Ramirez: Do we have a flag, with medical symbolizism? One warning of the Red Death? Peon: Yes sir, we do. Lt. Ramirez: Carefully, display the flag in the direction of our two allied ships, we must not allow the Sistanis to find out about this flag...if they see it, then it is back to the drawing boards... With that, the crew displayed the flag very carefully in the direction of the incoming allied ships, another member used his body to block the view of the flag facing the direction of the Sistani aircraft carrier... |

OOC: Just a note: There is no Sistani carrier. If you'd have checked the fleet census in my military post, you'd see that all three of my carriers are under construction. Also, I don't think that the men in the raft would be able to tell the nationality of the Macedonian carrier until it's too late. |

OOC: What class ship is the Tempest? I only said that we could identify the ships because there was no indication of distance from the raft to the vessel in question. |

Captain Hexius noticed a flag waving over a small raft. It was far away, but it looked like a plague sign. "Pirates." Concluded the First Mate, Lt. Pullus. "Quite possibly. Radio the Neo-Macedonian and tell her to stay clear. As for our mystery ship, let her find out the hard way." Captain Varrus ordered. "Amen, Cap'n, will do." |

OOC: Bah, don't do that. Just think of the political intrigue that will happen after a CNNP sub torpedoes an allied carrier in front of a Norightsian cruiser. It could be quite amusing. |

OOC: So you're implying that CNNP special forces don't know the difference between a Sistani and and a Neo-Macedonian ship? |

The implications would be enourmous. Especially when the Norightsian attacks the sub and it turns out to be from the CNNP! |

OOC: The CNNP had planed to board a Sistani Carrier and abduct the piolets responsible for the bombing of their nation. However tpo the CNNP was too stupid (and I'm not being insulting, but there really is no other word for it) to see that the carrier they wished to attack hadn't been built yet. Sistan wanted the CNNP commandos to run up and down a ship from a completely different nation, and sink it causing an international inncident as he was too much of a bastard to tell the CNNP that he didn't have a ship where the CNNP wanted to attack despite: 1) An attack from some kind of forward point is the only feasble way to get a squad of prop planes to attack the CNNP without flying unchartered military planes over the airspace of a lot of nations. 2) The CNNP asked Sistan before hand if he could attack his transport and he neglected to tell him it wasn't there even though I had specifically told Sistan the night before that if the CNNP asks then he has to tell the truth. |
