OOC: You knew this was coming... IC: Moon Base "Rome" Completed, ALC's Future in Doubt. by: Mikhail Hardesti, Staff Writer The ALC crew on the Earth's Moon celebrated today, as the heralded moon base "Rome" was finally completed. The base is located in and around the Aloha Crater, and as soon as equipment can arrive from Earth, a thermal borehole will be started inside the famous impact. Already, samples of ore have been shipped home, but the actual future of the mission is in doubt. As is well known, the previous, collaborative regime in the IronFish has fallen, and the new leadership's continued cooperation is unknown. If they elect to abndon the ALC, then Norightsia must spen billions more to build its own station, setting the project back indefinately. It was indeed a bitter sweet party on the moon today. As of right now, the IronFishian station, astronauts, and crew are all in a continued role in the ALC, but they may be pulled out by the new regime. The Emperor commented, saying: I hope that some agreement regarding the Asian Lunar Corporation can be reached with the new government... It is my hope that the project will continue to be an international endeavour...God willing work will resume soon. |

We congratulate the ALC on their glorious achievements. Though we may not support space travel to it's fulliest, this is a big achievement for mankind and should be celebrated. -Tok'Conn Governing Council |

I hope it doesn't. I for one will not participate in them and I may ignore them, depending on my mood. |

OOC: No strange chemicals. And space battles will only go as far as missile-armed satellites... like what we could achieve in IRL if we put our minds to it. |

OOC: C'mon, please chemicals!? It would just be compounds that would be too unstable to exist on earth, but could exist in a non-atmospheric environment. PLease? And I never said anything about star wars. I do not intend for anything like X-wings or death stars to happen in our universe, at least not as a result of this. |

OOC: The only chemicals I'll allow are the ones that have been proven to exist in our solar system. |

Emperor Phillip I today pledged the continued collaboration of The Iron Fish in the ALC. He asks for the Emperor of Norightsia to contact him so that they may discuss this. |

I concur with you, although I would prefer it if we didn't even go as far as you are willing to allow it to go. |

You mean that you would not be willing to do anything outside what has currently been done, as opposed to things that COULD EASILY be done but haven't yet? |

Realistically, we could have had a base on the Moon already, but the U.S. government lost interest in space exploration and cut funding, which is quite unfortunate. I will; however, expect people to RP the great lengths of time required to travel to the other bodies in our solar system, so no blasting off to Mars and arriving the next day. |

*laughs* OK. Damn, almost any compound can survive in a vacuum, in Jupiter's superdense core, pluto's freezing surface, Neptune's liquid nitrogen, Venus's poison acid cloud, or the surface of the sun. I'm game. And I expect you to make allowances because I can't realistically calculate how long a modern shuttle would to reach the moon. And I don't want to search the NASA archive or whatever, or saying it would take as long as Apollo. |

Private Telegram to: Emperor Phillip from: Emperor Galerius(Quintilianus) I am glad you have decided to work with me on this mighty endeavour. The untapped mineral resource of the moon can monopolize the world's market(OOC:theoretically!). Luckily, we've arrived first, and I have taken the best spot. Perhaps we should meet in the residential sector of the station. There we could discuss matters pertaining to this poject that are best left upon Luna's surface. Agreed? |

That would be fine. I shall have to review security on the station first, but it should be OK. |
