Dr Camizu was in a little bit of tough spot. On the one hand, the Trilateral Commission was a member of the Order. They clearly had a strong hand in the South African situation, and had even delivered DeBruin to him as promised. And they had suggested he support the Empire of South Africa. On the other hand, his old ally Syawla, with him he had been allied almost since he first came to power, was strongly backing Zululand. Now that the ESA and the Zulus were officially at war, and about to create their own Armageddon, he had to pick a side. This wasn't going to be easy, and it was going to take a lot of cunning, but he had a solution. A rather crafty solution. His only hope was that the wrong people never learned of the solution. ***** Classification: TOP SECRET Message Encryption: HIGHEST To: The Trilateral Commission From: Dr Archibald Camizu CC: Shoa Conn, Kurtz, Jordo Mafil (OOC: sorry if I spelled anything wrong) I will begin by reiterating my thanks for the delivery of the fiend DeBruin. I hope to be able to aid you in the future. As per your instructions, I would like to offer support for the Empire. However, as we have seen, this is a very costly move for me, from a diplomatic perspective. On the other hand, I am being pressured to offer support to the Zulus. Now you can see the problem. I do have a suggestion. If you will aid me here, I have a scheme that will not only prevent any possible aid of Zululand, but also make support of the ESA the only moral alternative. I am going to tell my African allies, that I will agree and support Zululand. However, when my convoys travel to Zulu territory, I intend that they will find something that will so discredit the Zulus as to damn them in the court of international opinion. I hope that you will all cooperate with me here in creating this 'something.' It is my intention to create evidence of atrocities in Zulu territory. I wish to create evidence of systematic slaughter of non-Catholics, whites, and non-Zulus black Africans. Furthermore, we will create evidence fo rape camps, mass graves, and torture. When the Camizuan convoys, and hopefully those of other nations, find this evidence, the Zulu nation will be as good as dead, and the ESA will reign triumphant. I hope that you will offer me support in this venture. In fact, if you can hold off the ESA assault until the Zulus are thus condemned, the operation might be more cost effective, and thus, more profitable for all of us. -Camizu ***** Dear Emperor Jean, I have read your letter, and agree with you. There is no time for deliberation, as the fatal battle may be only days away. I will therefore trust your judgments on the matter, and send aid from my positions inside and outside of South Africa, which I have maintained since the initial evil nuclear strike. I will aid the Zulu Kingdom in their time of need. Thank you for your wise council. -Archibald Camizu ***** This morning, Dr Camizu officially announced that he would be shipping supplies to help the Zulu Kingdom take care of the suffering people of their nation. Furthermore, he would be sending diplomats and officers to discuss the situation. While he did not announce official military aid, it is suspected that this will follow the meetings. Unfortunately, due to the danger of travel in South Africa, the convoys may be delayed, but they should arrive within the week, and hopefully within days. |

Secret message To: Dr. Camizu From: James Morley, Trilateral Commission The Policy Council has conferred and decided on a solution that will immediately end the conflict in South Africa. We have decided to withdraw all formal political and military support for the Empire, and we will recognize the independence of the Zulu Kingdom. We will only retain a stake in certain South African industries and commercial interests. To protect our former ally, the Empire, we have arranged a truce mediated by Catholic Europe. South Africa and its Emperor will convert to Catholicism, and join the Holy League, and Catholic Europe will force Neo-Macedonia, Syawla, Norightsia, and the others to cease their attacks. This will be the last of our direct involvement in the fate of South AFrica for a long time. You and your nation's diplomatic standing among your African allies will be protected and you should not fear for your involvement in South Africa damaging your reputation and diplomatic connections. Through the help of Catholic Europe South Africa and Zululand will both become independent nations who will be fully accepted by their fellow African nations. You do not need to expend any more energy or resources to assist the Trilateral Commission's South African policy. The inconsistencies in our policy may be confusing to you, and it is definitely confusing and annoying to me, since my colleagues have overruled many of my suggestions, and have implemented policies in a highly irregular and haphazard way. As I've said before, the Trilateral Commission policy in Africa was not well thought out in the begginning and my colleagues were unwilling to invest the necessary resources to further our goals. My colleagues have recently planned to take over Israel, as you are aware. They have decided to disengage from Africa in order to concentrate on our Middle East policy; a war in Israel, which will match our nation against several superpowers, needs a tremendous exertion and projection of the Trilateral Commission's power. Any move against Israel will require a singleminded and efficient operation that will only be weakened by a distraction like South Africa. Even though the Trilatral Commission has wasted trillions of dollars for no good reason in this country, and will have its international prestige seriously harmed by this withdrawal and retreat from Africa, my colleagues feel that Israel is an overriding priority right now. South Africa will of course potentially be an enemy of the Trilateral Commission due to its pending membership in the Holy League and the expected military opposition of Catholic Europe to our plans in Israel, but we are confident that the devastated state of South African infrastructure will not make the nation a great asset for the Holy League. YOur dedication and loyalty in this whole South African affair is commendable. Your maneuverings and secret support have been greatly helpful to our South African policy. In the future know that the Trilateral Commission will be of assistance in any of your undertakings. J. Morley |

ENCRYPTED COMMUNICATION To: James Morley, Trilateral Commission From: Archibald Camizu, Camizu Having read your last communication, I am quite pleased with your solution. I am glad that we did not have to go through the effort of implementing my plan. The deft maneuvering of the Commission has certainly aided me, and I will continue to offer my aid to you in the future, in whatever manner necessary. I must admit I am somewhat intrigued by certain aspects of the Commission's policy. I will offer support for the acquisition of Isreal, if you need me. However, I am somewhat concerned about Catholic Europe. On the one hand, you have informed me that they would be willing to mediate a truce in South Africa. On the other hand, they are vocally against any interferance in Israel. Has this matter been worked out. Another idea that has entered my mind since reading your message, is about the increasing power of the Catholic Church in Africa. I am wondering whether I should consider making a conversion of convenience in order to 'guide' African progress. I can see both benefits and problems that would come from such a decision. Would appreciate an opinion on the matter. A. Camizu |

HIGHLY ENCRYPTED COMMUNICATION To: Dr. Camizu From: James Morley I will share with you some things I've learned about Catholic Europe and Israel. However, I am not authorized to repeat them so destroy this message and all elctronic trails it leaves behind, after reading it. My colleagues would have me executed for anything I say here, so I request that you be very careful. The Trilateral Commission has inquired about a possible alliance with Catholic Europe to jointly take over Israel and share sovereignty. Catholic Europe expressed mild interest but declined, requesting time to consider the issue. We suspect that Catholic Europe is highly interested in conquering Israel, but may be seeking allies and making more preparations. In our negotiations, Catholic Europe implied it is willing to rearm in defiance of Patrua, since Patrua is currently distracted in a full scale war. The fact that Catholic Europe is open to the idea of seizing control of Israel, whether in partnership with the Trilateral Commission or some other party or by themselves, dispels any misconceptions about their public statements in which they claim that Israel should be out of the control of any international power. Clearly this is not a fundamental principle in their foreign policy, but may be a ruse to prevent any rival claimants from taking Israel first. Since this is highly classified information please destroy it immediately. I would normally not reveal such information so casually but I am disgruntled and disillusioned at my colleagues' incompetence and neglectfulness in handling our policies. Concerning a possible conversion to Catholicism - such a move seems extremely profittable nowadays. As South Africa and Zululand have learned, one thing is for sure; if you convert to Catholicism you will be protected from the militarism of the Holy League, whose imperialistic expansionist policies affect every continent. J. Morley EDIT: changed the text a little. |

To: Morley Form: Camizu TOP SECRET Thank you for the information. I have destroyed your communication, and I suggest you do the same to this one, for the sake of thoroughness. I have taken your thoughts into account, and suggest that the Commission rely on Scythirus as much as possible, as they are strong in the Middle East. I will have to consider Catholicism long and hard. It may very well be of use to me. A. Camizu |

Trilateral Commission disengagement The Trilateral Commission has begun the process of political and military disengagement from the Empire of South Africa. All troops are expected to return to Manchuria within a month. Tensions calm on the front THe lines of battle have receded as peace has extended to the Empire of SOuth Africa and Zululand. Millions of soldiers have been gathering in the previous weeks along the borders of the two factions, but with news of the Catholic European-mediated peace, Zulu and Imperial forces have begun to return home and rebuild the shattered land. Unresolved issues Several major issues remain obstacles for both the Empire and Zululand. Most obviously, the widespread devastation wrought by the first SOuth African War, foreign occupation, anarchy, and the nuclear attacks, and the South African Civil War, have killed more than one billion people in the South African countries, and leaving about one bilion more homeless. Millions of acres of farmland, forests, and grasslands have been reduced to bombed-out wastelands. Hunger, maulnutrition, and disease is widespread. Tje devastation is unparalleled by any war or disaster in history. Living conditions have plummeted in the past few years, and industrial output is a tiny fraction of old SOuth Africa's industrial might. The rebuilding effort is estimated to take at least 20 years, even with generous international aid. Other problems are the occupation of Imperial land by Neo-Macedonia and the United Nations; the Empire of South Africa has submitted an appeal to the UN to have its full sovereign rights and recognition restored, and to have teh occupying forces vacated. Congo's occupation of the Richard's Bay enclave in eastern South Africa also continues to pose a diplomatic challenge to the SOuth African nations; both the Empire and Zululand have submitted a request for Congo's withdrawal. |

Encrypted Message: To: King Alexander Augustus From: Emperor Jean Dear brother-in-law; Camizu are onside, the Trilateral Commission has withdrawn; now I feel it is time to finally destroy this political entity known as the Empire of South Africa once and for all. My forces are deployed along your border. It is time that we co-operated on our greatest venture. In all honesty; I care not for Zululand anymore than I do for the ESA. However it is clear that in the ESA the Empire has a potential enemy thus this threat must be extinguished permanently. However, we must not allow South Africa to reunite, thus my plan is for us to invade the ESA and hand the land over to the UN administration. Considering the mess that it has made in the Limpopo, this area would remain occupied for years, while to the south an independent and subservient Zululand would gain maturity. This is our chance to cripple once and for all our great rival. I ask that we do not waste it. I expect a positive assurance from you of our imminent invasion within the next 24 hours. |

Malagassia is abhorred at the accusations of other nations as wouldn't it be doing enough to further peace and stability. The UN is not some deus ex machina which can be called in whenever something has gone awry. Instead it is a sensible community dedicated to peace and stability. The "baby steps" as they were called entail only the Limpopo region because the UN force there was originally mandated to see a safe and peaceful transfer of the anarchy which resulted from Syawla's departure to the democratically elected and popular representative government of South Africa. Today still, we cannot see such a government in place anywhere in South Africa. The so-called Empire has been deploying monstrous weaponry sanctioned by the Geneva Convention and the UN. We cannot trust the future of the Limpopo people to such a government. Meanwhile we still question Neo-Macedonia's motives. Instead of pledging troops to the UN force or propose a mandate so it vould intervene under UN banner, it went in to annex the lands of the South Africans. Their claims as would the motives be altruistic are laughable and absurd. The same claims were made when the former regime invaded Neo-Macedonia. The UN stepped in and protected Neo-Macedonia then istead of agreeing with the lies of the invader. We will not egree with Neo-Macedonia's lies either. |

Encrypted Message: To: Emperor Jean From: King Alexander Augustus Dear Brother in-law, Do not lose faith in me in these trying times. Yes, I still want to see ESA and the whole of South Africa fall, and no I will not be happy no matter what kinda of government is in South Africa. However, the winds of time are changing and something bigger than us all is coming. This is the time that we must ask ourselves do we want to survive and what have we done to ensure our survival to the future? Sure we could effectively take South Africa in it's weaken condition, but what then. I will be excommunicated as well and then we will only have each other. War has already opened up in Europe and I believe that it has awaken the Catholic Might of the old days. If that is so we might be looking at more than just a simple European war. If it spreads, Africa and the Middle East will be next. The UN is failing and will not be able to protect us so the only logical thing is to ally our selves with the only true international super power, the Church. The Holy League is the only thing I can see that will be able to ensure that we survive. I implore you to ask for forgiveness from the Pope and rejoin the Holy League. Let us stand together for now with the ESA and then after all this is over, we will find a way to destroy our enemy and put an end to the threat with is South Africa, of this I swear to you. |

OOC: If the Pope could read that it would be automatic excommunication and war against Neo-Macedonia. I would probably issue a fatwah against King Alexander Augustus should it ever come to light. What you wrote is serious heresy. Furthermore, communication with the Emperor is banned if you're a Catholic, and sympathetic communication is even worse! |

OOC: Well, King Alexander had to try to get Syawla to return to the League. He feels it's the only way to secure a win for Africa in the name of the Catholics. However, he also needs Syawla to help try and convince the Pope some time down the line, that the ESA is an evil Empire and must be excommunicated. He believe at the moment that the ESA is a threat to not only his country but the church now that they're a catholic nation. With every action against them, he believes he's doing wants best for both the church and his homeland though in actuality he's more or less feeding his own greed. In short Alexander is going to go insane in the years to come. He went to the brink on insanity during the actual war with South Africa but through his wife and Catholicism he gathered himself together, however Catholicism will soon prove not match for the insanity within him and he'll soon lose faith and go far beyond the brink. |

1) That he basically says that he is with the Church for security reasons and not matters of faith, therefore basically sying that his faith is fake. 2) He broke an order not to communicate with the excommunicated Emperor therefore, going against the doctrine of Papal authority. |
