EEN: Eastern Empire News Good evening I'm Jo Su-mi and here are our top state approved stories. Today in a glorious show of humanitarianism Sovereign Khaless Conn gave orders for over twenty-thousand aid workers to move out into an area once claimed by the now defunct Iron Fish Empire to make movements to incorporate it into the Eastern Empire in an effort to save millions of starving Asians. Posted Image The Area in question is a small stretch of land just along the Bohai Gulf coast within the Yellow Sea. Though enemies ever since the war of Dead Salmon, the Eastern Empire has looked upon the former Iron Fish lands with sympathy as they have struggled to keep themselves alive after the central government's collapse. Aid workers arrived in the area early this morning with food, water, and blankets being distributed throughout to help the poor people of the region. Aid workers are coordinating their efforts from the famed city of Beijing, of which Eastern Empire officials are pleased to see has stood the test of time as the region around the city has begun to crumble. When surveyed about the operation, everyone seems to be in full support, stating that the incorporation of this starving region will help to preserve the rich Asian history of Beijing and help bring the Empire one step closer in their constant campaign for an Asian ruled Asia. Government officials tell us that a complete survey of the region in question will take almost the entire day and a full number on the people and square miles for which the Empire will be claiming should be available to the public by tomorrow. In a show of the first steps in becoming citizens of the Eastern Empire, aid workers raised the Imperial flag over the Forbidden City to the cheers of everyone, residents and Dynastians alike. OOC: Does anyone else smell the propaganda riddled within this news cast? :gnarkgnark: |

EEN: Eastern Empire News Good evening I'm Jo Su-mi and here are some Imperially approved stories from around the Empire and abroad. Sovereign Shoa-Tu Conn announced today his plans to move the capital of the Eastern Empire from Ba Sing Se to the Imperial city of Beijing. The announcement was made in a speech given to the public outside of the Imperial palace and was received by the cheers of thousands who came out. Ba Sing Se has been the Imperial capital of the Eastern Empire ever since Shi Conn, the first sovereign lead his armies and united the previously divided Korean peninsula. A previously unnoticed and deprived village, Ba Sing Se quickly evolved into a thriving metropolis and became the center of Imperial power for the entire region. As the Empire grew so to did the capital, quickly encompassing many of the old farm lands which once brought in the sole income of the Area. The Sovereign said that the move was well over due and that it was the final step in in a long journey that began with his Great-Great Grandfather Shi Conn. "We Conns since our families beginnings have been destined for greatness. I am not simply moving the Imperial Capital to Beijing I am also taking my rightful place on the ancestral throne of Asia. For too long the great Imperial city, the symbol of Asian power has laid in wait, collecting dust as time has passed on beyond her walls." "However, as I move to Beijing and assume the throne of Asia all this will change. I will take my rightful place as guardian of Asia and the Asian people. Asian power will once again rise from the ashes of obscurity and once again shine like the never setting sun! I shall take what is rightfully mine, my birth rite as a Conn, the throne of the Forbidden City and within it I shall secure my claim as the Master of Asia." The move to the new Imperial city will be a gradual process as businesses will likely follow the Sovereign to setup new headquarters in Beijing. The Sovereign and the royal family will be the first to move as well as the court system. The Sovereign believes he can have the full Imperial government moved to Beijing by the year's end. |

Live from our Beijing Studios, this is Imperial News with your host Jo Su-mi Posted Image Good evening, I am Jo Su-mi, 35th son of the House Wong. Here are our top stories as approved by His Majesty the Emperor.... Posted Image In what can only be described as a great show of solidarity and imperial strength, thousands took to the streets as the Eastern Empire held a military parade in honor of those who gave their lives to restore power during the Imperial Wars. The great forces of the army, navy, and air force were on hand as well as the vast armored vehicles, artillery, aircraft, and missile systems strolled down Donghuamen Road as millions of Imperial Citizens cheer for them. His Imperial Majesty watched from his balcony seats just above the great Meriidian Gate, along side the various ministers of the Imperial Court as well as the General Staff of the Imperial War Council. Posted Image We spoke with First Minister Sun Chéng on the parade and what it meant for the Empire to show such strength to the public and to the world.
The First Minister spoke very highly on the successes already made by the Imperial Court under His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Yu's guidance. Already improvements have been made on 50% of the Empire's major highways, improving transportation and allowing many to move to the more urban areas of the Empire for work. Of those that have remained in the countryside, new programs have been implemented to give farmers incentives to grow much need food stock. When asked about foreign relations, the First Minister stated that the Empire was interested in seeking out other foreign markets besides those in Indochina though would not speak on any specifics. The Imperial Bank has special announcements, when we return from our commercial bank we will discuss these and how you can save your money for the benefit of the Empire. |

Posted Image DOMINIGASQUES THREATEN IMPERIAL WAY OF LIFE BEIJING: In a press release delivered by First Minister Sun Chéng, his Imperial Majesty has decreed a new social program designed to curb the growing threat of the Dominigasques populations within the Eastern Empire. "The threat that the Dominigasques people pose to the Eastern Empire is one of the greatest threats face by our people in this era" First Minister Chéng is quoted as stating in this press release. "They are half-bloods, products of one proud Chinese people falling prey and victim to the vices of the Western world and influences. Now, as they continue to grow in numbers they are cause for great concern for our people. The Eastern Empire is just now recovering from our own civil war, a war these people are at the root of its cause. Furthermore, beyond what we suffered during that troubling time we have also the mistakes of the past that continue to haunt us. If we, as a great society, are to continue to prosper through progress these people must be dealt with. They are a cancer, a plague that will only continue to infect our people and weaken the great heritage of the Chinese race. That is why, his Imperial Majesty has decreed that these people shall be segregated from the rest of the population. The program will have settlements in Taiwan setup and these people shall be moved there where they shall be removed from the general population so that they can cause no further threat. We ask that all great sons and daughters of the Empire aid your local officials in identify these people so that they may be properly identified, documents, and given the required identification cards that the Empire shall now require. Your help will only go to further glory our proud and progressive Empire." Dominigasques people, according to early estimate, account for about 2% of the current population of the Empire. Many were taken into custody following the Imperial Wars for collaborating with enemy warlords and were properly executed for their crimes. The product of a by-gone era, Dominigasques are the children of the Dominion that were born out of programs such as Executive Order No. 78. The intermingling of the nationalities during those dark times created a new sub race of people within the Empire. Though officially these people have been considered of the Bù Xiào caste, dishonorables serving in various low wage or completely non-paid positions, many within various communities have been outspoken about the threat they pose to society. A result has been a serious conversation taken up in Beijing within the political elite of the Son of Heaven's court over what to do with these half-blooded dishonorables. This imperial decree is seen by many, as a positive first step in dealing with an issue that could, if left unchecked, greatly compromise imperial security. This is particularly true given recent rumors of talks among world powers about what to do with these people. "We will not only act quickly but with great vigilance to enact a true final solution to this problem" the First Minister has stated. "So that the Empire and its allies, can continue to grow strong. For it is the Eastern Empire that shall prevail!" Edited by NRE, Feb 6 2017, 01:43 PM.

Posted Image PRIVATE SECTOR TO EMERGE IN THE EMPIRE BEIJING:While standing just outside the gates of the Forbidden City, First Minister Sun Chéng announced yesterday that the Eastern Empire would be liquidating its national assets as part of the Son of Heaven's plan to reignite the Imperial Economy. "His Imperial Majesty has, through divine inspiration and guidance, decreed that the national assets of the Empire shall be liquidated. Though the Empire has prospered for generations under a economic system driven by guidance from the Imperial throne, his Imperial Majesty feels that in this new age for the Empire changes must be made so that we can remain competitive against foreign aggressors." For generations, the economic system of the Eastern Empire has been one of state capitalism. State enterprises have put millions of Chinese Imperial Citizens to work and has helped fuel the Imperial Economy and ensure the economic and military strength of the Empire. However, following the devastation caused by the civil unrest which followed the Dominion Wars, his gracious Imperial Majesty has decree to move the economy to a more mixed economic system. During the First Minster's announcement, it was outlined that the Imperial Government will liquidation over 50% of their assets, offering the enterprises through a private auction to be held in the coming days. Several of the most wealthiest and honorable families of the Empire have been personally invited by his Imperial Majesty to offer bids at the auction. One such family is that of the House Wu, led currently by the patriarch Jian Wu. "We are greatly honored to have been given such a rare opportunity to help shape the future of the Eastern Empire" Jian told reporters outside the families estate in Beijing. "We of the House Wu have always dedicated ourselves to the service of the Emperor, dating such service back to the reign of Emperor Shao, the Jade Emperor. Though we have been great Generals and soldiers of the Empire, we look forward to now meeting the challenges associated with leading a business forward and see only great economic success in our future." Many of the families that have been invited to the auction have amassed their family wealth through generations of military and government service to the Empire. While a good deal of Imperial wealth was stolen during the Dominion years, First Minister Chéng believes the Empire will recoup much of those losses through this auction. Much of what will be going to the auction block will be manufacturing industries, such as the state automobile factories as well as several textile factories. Perhaps what will be the most sought after companies are the arms manufacturing centers going up for sale. One of the top employers of the Empire, those families fortunate enough to purchase them are estimated to double their worth within a decade. The First Minister said that the auction will take place by the end of the week. While there has been no release of the actual date to which the companies will officially become private enterprises, the First Minister did make several assurances to the people. "I do wish to make it very clear to the loyal citizens of the Eastern Empire. His Imperial Majesty will ensure that while these enterprises shall become private, no one worker shall be fired nor shall any of the work force be scaled back. We can promise this at least for the next decade as it shall be apart of the official agreement sign between the Imperial Government and the individual or individuals purchasing each company. Posted Image HIS MAJESTY THE EMPEROR MAKES UNPRECEDENTED APPEARANCE SUVA: In an unprecedented and unannounced trip, The Imperial Highness of the Present Time toured Suva, the administrative capital of the Eastern Isles. His Majesty, the Emperor is the first reigning monarch to visit the isles in generations. "We are overjoyed to make this trip to the Eastern Isles, a place that has been a prized possession of the Eastern Empire for many generations" the Lord of Ten thousand years stated in an address to the people of Suva. "The maritime history of the Eastern Isles is unprecedented and has contributed greatly to the Imperial Navy. This is not something that has escaped our attention and that is why we decided to come here personally. The time of the Eastern Empire's rebirth is well at hand and key to this is, among other things, the reestablishment of our navy. Your forefathers painstakingly labored to build a navy feared throughout the Asian region. Their accomplishments and developments were virtual works of art for their time. We know that among you still stands the great artisans for whom these former masters entrusted their secrets. With our guidance and true vision, we have no doubts that your people, our people, will build again. The world will come to fear the fleets of the Imperial Navy once more and there shall be no corner of Asia that we cannot reach." Well received by the hundreds of thousands that came out to see His Imperial Majesty, the visit was the first time anyone had seen the Lord of Ten Thousand Years in public. Recovery of the Empire has kept the Divine One at home within the walls of the Forbidden palace, with only the ministers of the court granted access. The visit was apart of a tour of the greater infrastructure of the Eastern Isles, particularly the naval facilities and shipyards which dot the island chains. Once the center of naval development for the Eastern Empire as well as its outer most territory, following the Imperial Wars communication with the isles was severed. Only recently re-established, many Chinese citizens had feared the worst but were well pleased when Imperial troops returned to the island. "Much of the naval yards have been sold to private ownership" His Imperial Majesty went on to announce. "However, we feel this move will make the yards more competitive and thus increase production further. Restoration efforts are already in the works to restore these facilities and begun production immediately. Your families will return to work, we shall once again give you purpose." While economic recovery for the people of the islands was foremost in His Imperial Majesty's speech, military exercises was also another reason for the visit. Extensive military exercises are being conducted by the Imperial Military over the course of the next few days on the Eastern Isles. The Army, Navy, and Air force are conducting joint exercises and it is being told that the exercises are designed to better gauge the Empire's military readiness. Since his ascension, His Imperial Majesty has made it well known that one of the main focuses of the Empire's recovery is returning the military to its former status. Exercises involving the navy specifically will be conducted in international Waters surrounding the islands. Edited by NRE, Feb 6 2017, 01:43 PM.

Posted Image EASTERN EMPIRE DECLARES ASIA FREE BEIJING: The Son of Heaven's glorious military paraded to the cheers of millions yesterday, as the Imperial government looked on. Under divine direction, the Imperial Military has continued to build, strengthening the Eastern Empire and continuing the safeguard its people from the threaten of Western intervention. To that end, the First Minster of the Imperial government gave a declaration of peace and freedom for the Asian sphere Posted Image "At the proposal of the Son of Heaven, full power and instructions have been transmitted to the ministers of the Imperial Government. In the discussions to which these powers were risen and in the arrangements by which they may be implemented as a principle in which the rights and interests of the Eastern Empire are involved, the Asian continent is henceforth not to be considered as subject for future colonization by any European, African, Middle Eastern, or American powers." First Minister Sun Cheng stated to the millions in attendance. "The Eastern Empire has always, for generations, remained an anxious and interested spectator in the affairs of other global powers and those powers which exist in the West. Their perpetual need for war has been unending, their thirst for conquest has never been quenched. They are a brutal and savage race, compared to the civilized people of the Eastern Empire. However, despite the many difference we have with these people, we have never once threatened them, never once opposed their way of life. In the wars of the European powers in matters relating to themselves we have never taken any part, nor is it our policy to do so. It is only when our rights are invaded or seriously menaced that we resent injuries or make preparation for our defense. It should therefore be known that we shall consider any attempt on their part to extend their system to any portion of this hemisphere as dangerous to our peace and safety. With the existing colonies or dependencies of any European power, we state now that we shall not now nor ever acknowledge their sovereignty nor their legitimacy. These are occupied territories and until their oppressed people are free, there can be no rest. Our honor and the honor of those under the tyranny of oppression must be avenged and upheld. This is something only we Chinese and our brethren of Asia can understand. It is our policy to remain neutral to these powers so long as they remain neutral to us. However, so long as Asia remains at the grips of these dishonorable and unrelenting foes, peace is a luxury we cannot afford." The First Minister's speech, after a resounding applause from all in attendance, was followed by the military parade. The Eastern Empire's military industrial complex has been on high production for many months now, producing the latest in advanced weaponry. Though no official numbers have been revealed by the Central Command, analyst believe that the Empire's military power has returned to pre-dominion status. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese Warriors marched proudly down the main corridor of the parade route. "I am Han, son of Cheng. My family has provided great warriors of the Eastern Empire for generations. I am proud to serve the Son of Heaven in his magnificent Army." One of many who are fresh out of one of the Empire's many military academies, Private Han was enthusiastic over his role in the army. "I am eager to go wherever I am sent by the Central Command. We cannot allow those who dare to rape and pillage Asia to continue these crimes without provocation. If the Empire so does desire it, I shall and willing so, lay down my life in service to it. Asia is by Divine right the territory of the Son of Heaven. We cannot allow and must not allow these great lands to be tainted by the evil of the west." Private Han's comments were not solely his own, but were the culmination of many comments heard for several others we were privileged to speak to after the parade. If the fate of the Eastern Empire's future is the hands of these brave men, then surely the Empire's future is bright. While the parade focused primarily on showcasing both the army and air force, a separate event held a few hours after the conclusion of the parade to showcase the new naval vessels being built for the cause. The parade is one of many celebrations being held by the Empire in the coming weeks and month, highlighting the increased militarization of the Empire. Though the glory of the Empire is something celebrated in the hearts and minds of all Chinese daily, no down this newest military display has only further ignited the patriotism of all the sons of the Eastern Empire. Posted Image IMPERIAL REORGANIZATION ON THE HORIZON BEIJING:First Minister Sun Chéng announced yesterday that the most gracious son of heaven has decree that a reorganization of the Eastern Empire is to take place, reshaping the political, economic, and social landscape of China. "It has been so decided under much deliberation and advice from the Grand Council that His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of the Great Conn Dynasty, Son of Heaven, Lord of Ten Thousand Years shall so decree that a organization of the Eastern Empire shall take place. This reorganization will happen over the next ten years and will not only encompass the political structure of the Empire but also its economic and social foundation. These changes are seen necessary by the Emperor Above for the continued growth and prosperity of Imperial power here in Asia. They will be far-reaching changes and evolution of the very institutions and structures that have allowed the Eastern Empire to grow to what it stands as today. Much will change for the Eastern Empire in the coming years though I say this not to discourage those traditionalists who hold true to our core values. For indeed, while much will change, our traditional values and customs will be ever present on the minds of those leader to whom His gracious Imperial Majesty so chooses to lead this imperial reorganization." The First Minister was very candid with questions from the media on this subject though his answers fell very short to any concrete information that he may or may not know. What we do know is that many in the Grand Council are pushing for more economic freedoms in the growing free-market as well as a change in the Son of Heaven's own government. There is even talk that there could be an re-shaping of the Imperial Caste system that currently holds together the hierarchy of the Eastern Empire. Until this announcement from the First Minister, changes in the Eastern Empire have come very gradually and sporadic. Most recently the Imperial Government has released many industries and companies that had previously be solely owned by the government, allowing for a new class of upper and middle citizens to gain new wealth and prestige from the ventures and capital made. Still the honor system of the Eastern Empire doesn't address the benefits of economic gains made by an individual when it comes to titles and recognition from the state, something many analysts believe will be another change that many will wish to see realized. Since the Dominion Wars the Eastern Empire has been rebuilding and many see this reorganization as the latest step at finalizing reconstruction and allowing for a resurgence of Imperial power throughout Asia. The First Minister did not disclose a time table for when the first reforms would be released but did state that a commission was already being formed by the Son of Heaven and would be getting to work within the next few days. He had confidence that, in terms of speculation, that the commission would be releasing its first reform recommendation to the Lord of Ten Thousand Years by the end of the month. |

Posted Image EASTERN EMPIRE TO EXPAND SPACE PROGRAM BEIJING:Yesterday, Chancellor Sun Chéng announce the Son of Heaven's intention to drastically overhaul the Imperial Space Program to include human flights into space, ushering in a new era of space exploration to the Eastern Empire. Speaking to a group of scientists at yesterday conference of scientific and technological advancement in the Eastern Empire, the Chancellor highlighted the Son of Heaven's will to transform the current satellite launch program into a full space program, a significant shift from previously held beliefs from the Forbidden City of the viability and necessity towards space exploration. "If the capsule of history of human progress teaches us anything, it is that man, in his quest for knowledge and progress, is determined and cannot be deterred. The exploration of space has going ahead globally and it is one of the great adventures of all time, and no nation which expects to be a leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in the race for space. Those who came before us made certain that this country rode the first waves of the industrial revolutions, the first waves of modern invention, and the first wave of nuclear power, and this generation does not intend to founder in the backwash of the coming age of space. We mean to be a part of it--we mean to lead it. For the eyes of the world now look into space, to the moon and to the planets beyond, and we have vowed that we shall not see it governed by a hostile flag of conquest by imperialist western powers, but by a banner of honor, the banner of the Eastern Empire. Yet the vows of this Empire can only be fulfilled if we adapt and change. The Son of Heaven demands that this Empire no longer look to space as a economic and political waste. We can no longer simply rely on outdated rocket technology but instead, with our leadership in science and in industry, we make remarkable strides forward in developing new technologies to put Chinese people in space, on the moon and beyond! We are obligated to comply to this order and must require ourselves to make this effort, to solve the heavenly mysteries and to become the world's leading space-faring nation. So we must now set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of our people. For space science, like nuclear science and all technology, has no conscience of its own. Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man. Therefore, it must be the Eastern Empire who occupies a position of pre-eminence so we can decide whether this new ocean will be a sea of honor or a new terrifying theater of war." This new direction for the Eastern Empire is in stark contrast to the decades of neglect that the Empire's space program has suffered. Seen as a significant drain on the Chinese economy, the space program was significant rolled back and regulated to a rocket and satellite program. While the Empire has launched several defense and communication satellites in the decades since, the technology used to put these cutting-edge satellites into orbit have begun to show the test of time. Furthermore the overall facilities and equipment used have also begun to show their age. To date the Eastern Empire has not had a single Chinese citizen placed into space nor has it made a trip to the moon, being instead eclipsed in these areas by other nations, including the imperialists western nations of Europe. "It is of great dishonor to know that imperialists such as Russia, Porcu, and others have been allowed to put manned technology into orbit without check" noted aeronautics scientist Chang Sing-chi. "Our intelligence can only tell us but so much of what is going on in the heavens above us whether it be in orbit or on the moon. The Eastern Empire cannot, in this new age of science and technology, afford to be left in the dark. We must, for our own security, join the international community in this space race. We must show the imperialists that they can no long rely on their monopoly of space and that we here in Asia are willing to fight for the same universal secrets and they themselves wish to unlock and horde." The Chancellor's words were met with thunderous applause by those who attended the conference and it is expected that in the coming weeks and months the Chancellery will release financial information on how the government intends to finance this new venture."To be sure, we are behind, and will be behind for some time in manned flight. But we do not intend to stay behind, and in this decade, we shall make up and move ahead" the Chancellor stated in his speech. "The growth of our science and education will be enriched by new knowledge of our universe and environment, by new techniques of learning and mapping and observation, by new tools and computers for industry, medicine, the home as well as the school. To be sure, all this costs us all a good deal of money. Indeed this will raise our space budget to three times what it has previously stood at and will undoubtedly sum to greater than the space budget of the previous decade when we are completed. Yet no matter the financial strains, no matter the human costs, we shall endeavor to make this program a reality. For the secrets and knowledge out there in that vast ocean of twilight and darkness far outway the decades that we could remain forever in the dark while Western Imperialists powers plunder and horde the vast secrets of the universe for their own perverse and greedy uses." |
