It comes up as you because whatever #4 is, it no longer exists on NS. Try any nations such as that, and you get your self. When I click on it, I get my self. Sheesh! <_< <_<

When you've been here as long as I have you'll know that people come and go.

Three nations can be counted on not to leave - Nag Ehgoeg, Catholic Europe and Paradise. (And CE only bearly makes the cut).

Well, you've been in the Middle East what a year and a half. I mean, Patrua has been here longer than you and he is not even mentionned.

I agree with the list Nag has made because we are all nations that were created in 2002 rather than 2003.

And also Scythirus you quit and came back if memory serves.

CE only bearly makes the cut because I don't like him

Only kidding, you're alright. But you do have a temper on you. I'm just saying that you may leave... and not out of choice.

Patrua is more like "the fifth race". I mean... Paradise, CE and me are like Ancients/Furling/Nox/Asgard where as Patrua is Humanity... no that's not fair... ok I'm the Furling and Nox, Paradise is the Ancients and Asgard, CE is the Goa'uld and Patrua is Humanity... yeah that covers it nicely...

And yes I'm watching Stargate SG-1... Season Two... 'The Fifth Race'...

ahhhh SG1.....I really love that series, though I missed the conclusion of the second half of the first show on the new season. GRRR  curse my need to go outside my own home  Nag if you do like the series, might I suggest you looking into the spin off series of Stargate Atlantis which just entered it's second season, and BattleStar Galatica, which is a remake from a 70's or 80's series of the same name, it too just entered it's second season, and though I'm not sure either of them have their first seasons on DVD yet, I do know (if memory serves) that they have their pilot episodes on DVD, they were that long if I remember correctly, I do know BSG was that long only because that is what it was originally only going to be was a mini-movie, but thankfully the higher powers decided to make it into a very nice series. Sorry for getting off topic

Of course not. We all <3 you.

RD I explicitly stated that my reference was from the second serious of Star Gate SG1, from the episode "The Fifth Race" but let me explain further.

In the Star Gate universe thousands of years ago there where 4 mighty civilisations in our galaxy (though their homeworlds where presumably in other galaxies).

These where the Ancients, who where the first evolution of mankind. These where the most advanced and created a method of travelling thousands, no millions and billions of lightyears in a matter of seconds by using wormholes created by two "Star Gates". They then went and placed Star Gates on most of the inhabitied worlds in our galaxy, and in others. While generally peaceful, their technology was amazingly advanced - even by the standards of the other races, and the eventually "ascended" into a state the exists beyond the physical (gaining god like powers in the process). They no longer interact with our physical universe, watching it from afar knowing what havok their knowledge and power could reek.

The Asgard are little grey Roswell-style aliens. Technologically the second most advanced - though as children compared to the Ancients. Nevertheless their technology is nothing short of amazing. After the Ancients ascended it was the Asgard who watched over our universe looking for a race that would be suitable to replace them in the allience. Thousands of years later and Humanity seems like a prime candidate. The Asgard watch over our universe, protecting certain worlds (mostly containing humans) from hostile speices. Unfortunately for us they have their own problems (and boy are they big problems) and have been rendered impotent... unless they want to destroy themselves taking out a threat.

These nations are Paradise because Paradise is a badass, but he hardly uses his power.

The Nox are a peaceful race. They seem to have no technology but are advanced socially, mentally and physically - being the closest thing to being ascended. They can raise the dead and turn things invisble for one, being able to litterally make things disappear and to establish wormholes between two star gates by just waving their arms for another.

Not much is known about the Furling. Apparently they're a race of giants, but I must have missed that episode.

These nations are me. Peaceful, quiet but always there... and somewhat unsettling.

The Goa'uld are a hostile race of aliens that rule most of the Milky Way. A race of parasites, they steal the technologies of the races they conquer - much like the Roman Empire. They are snake like creatures that embed themselves in the brains of hosts (human's being a favourite) and take over their actions... much less like the Romans. Long after the Ancients ascended they came to Earth, enslaved Humanity by possing as gods (most still use the names of the ancient egyption gods) and basically stole the Star Gate system for their own use. Fortunately humanity on Earth rebelled and burried their gate, unfortunately the Goa'uld had already kidnapped millions of human's, spreading them across the galaxy to serve as slaves on other worlds. Until recently they where much less advanced than the Asgard, but still a damn site more advanced than a lot of the sci-fi races out there. They are Humanities biggest nemisis. Extremely long lived, powerful, religious, wrathful and proud.

Sounds like Catholic Europe to me.

Humanity. Well hopefuly 21st century humanity doesn't need too much explaination. We uncovered this burried star gate, worked out what it did, the airforce (eventually) sent soliders to another word. They met Ra, refused to worship him, blew him up with a nuke and started a war with a race far more powerful than us. Fortunately the Asgard protected Earth until we got the technology to protect ourselves. Humanity at large remains unawear of aliens, but key government officals of all nations know about the treat. Humanities first and only line of defence lies with Star Gate Command, in the Cyhen (sp) mountain in the Rockies. SG1 is the best 4 man team and the show is about them. Recently we built our own space ship that can kick the ass of anything else out there, and we unlocked the secretes of the weapons of the Ancients.

This is Patrua. Not yet advanced enough to join the four races, but doing a HELL of a lot to prove themselves. It's only a matter of time.

Scythirus, RD and others deserve a mention... but I've already thought about this way too much. And frankly I'm just not geeky enough to do more.

Atlantis was pretty good, I'll watch it, but I'm not going to try to watch it. BSG... I dunno. I loved the orginal... but... meh. What annoyed me with Atlantis was that I stopped watching Star Gate then I saw an episode by chance - the Wraith where attacking, they had no way of powering the weapons... then suddenly Star Gate command turns up just in time with Naquda mark 2 generators... I didn't buy it. Too cheesy. Now Naqudria generators... or the Asgard showing up... that I would have accepted.

Well actually what happened was that SG1 used the time machine they have to travel back to ancient Egypt the recover a ZPM that Ra supposedly had but didn't know what it was for, other than it looked really cool  anyways LONG story short, they recovered it, and was able to use it to power the stargate to dial out to Atlantis after receiving the deep space message from Atlantis that the Wraith were going to attack. So of course SG command send soldier and the generators to hopefully help Atlantis hold out until the Detelis (I'm sure I spelt that wrong, but it's an upgraded ship from the Prometheus ship), powered by the ZPM could make the travel to Atlantis and use the ZPM to power some of Atlantis' defenses, mainly the only used the shields, and then made it look like they blew up Atlantis, yes I will agree it was cheesy, but the technology they come up with is really amazing....keeps me watching. As for BSG...I don;t blame you for being a fan of the original...it was nothing short of freakin amazing, but I must admit the new series does have a certain charm to it, but I suppose it's all up to the person. Let it be known however, that though it was only humans who were in the uprising against the Goa'uld, there is an episode where we find that another species did go to earth and help humans realize they could uprise against their so-called gods. As for the Furling, if memory serves, Daniel Jackson's grandfather actually discovered them years earlier, but when he returned and told the world of his discovery, he was called mad. Well to make another LONG story short, SG1 rediscovery the place where his grandfather had been take him back their, they met the giants and then leave his grandfather their so that they may pass on their knowledge to him (which was a bad judgment call if you ask me, cause the guy is like 70...by the time he has obtained all they have to offer, he probably will due, but eh) and that was that. I want to say it was an earlier episode, though the season and name of it escape, but I'll see it in a rerun so I'll get back to you on it.

and for the record I'm not an SG1 geek nor freak, though all that won't help my calm

Ah yes I remember the Furling now. "We are enemies of the Goa'uld." And with the skull, and how his grandfather was the only one who could see him and thought he was a hallucination. That was a great episode.

Anyhoo where did they get this time machine from? (I missed a lot of that season, when I saw O'Neil was in charge of the SGC and not on SG1 I stopped watching.) Was it a similar sort of one to the one on Atlantis? Because I really hated that to :P

Having said that Star Gate is great, I love the technology they use... I'm going to have to move this to off topic aren't I? I wish Wormhole X-treme was a real show. And are you refereing to Amaroka (sp) of Babalon (sp)? Or have I missed more episodes than I thought.

First of yes, from what I gathered it was the time machine was originally from atlantis. Supposedly when the Atlantis team went to Atlantis, things went horrible wrong and everyone die escept that one who is in charge...Dr. something (I really have a terrible memory with names) She actually goes back in time to when the ancients where still in Atlantis and they decided that they can't send her back to her own time or enterfrear with what happen, but of course one ancient disagrees and against orders reworks the system so when they team does get to Atlantis they can raise it and everything peachy. The ancient do decided though to take the time machine with them back to Earth. (they evacuation from Atlantis to Earth to escape the Wraith who they were at war with. They only reason they loss that war, was numbers...because tech. wise they were supieror) They put the doctor in a sleep chamber and she pretty and is found a couple of episodes after the team reeach Atlantis. Now How SG1 found the time machine in the first place is beyond me, I missed that episode too. An yes I don't really like the thought of a time machine period really, but I say whatever.

Secondly yes I was refering to Amaroka of Babalon.

An yeah that was a really great episode, the who "the enemy of our enemy is our friend" was good writing, though I still think they could have picked someone a little younger to stay with the furling than grandpa there  An you know now thinking about it, they never wrote a follow up on that either. They never wrote an episode where he returns and shares their knowledge or if they did I missed it. I really need to go out and by seasons 1-7 unless they're on season 9 now, then I need to buy 1-8.

Sorry for getting off-topic so much :P

I love Stargate SG-1. I think my favorite episode is when O'Neil and Teal'c (sp?) live again the same day because their gate is connected to a planet where an alien archeologist studies a time machine built by an ancient civilization. I laughed so much when they played golf in the Stargate

There is also this episode when O'Neil receives advanced knowledge from a strange machine on a world. He then "improves" the Stargate on Earth to get to the Asgard World and meet Thor.

Another good one is when Daniel Jackson dreams he is conquering the World ;)

And NE, thanks for comparing me to the Asgards :D

  I love Stargate SG-1.

First off...excellent, another stargater (if that be the term). It really is a great series and if another is interested, I saw watch the original movie that the series is based on, and then try to find at least season 1 on DVD and watch it, it really is some good stuff.

Secondly, Nag I was wrong about the furlings, they weren't in that episode I spek of, those aliens are just known as "the giant aliens" the actually furlings have yet to be seen in an episode, only their tech has been shown. For all those interest her is a great site on everythin stargate check out this link

Also, you know I just realized something Nag, you never mention the Tok'ra.
Sure their not the fab five, but I do believe they are worth mentioning. Sure all they really are are good Goa'uld, but they are at least worth comparison. I'm sure RD or Scythirus fall into one of them, though probably more RD from what I think I know of the history of the Scythirus nation. Basically whoever is CE's opposite would be the best Tok'ra

lol that's because it didn't...there was a series which was created to tell the story further from just the movie, it's known as StarGate SG1...it's a god series and if you remotely liked the movie you might find interest in the TV series. I provided a link in my last post to a great site that could answer in questions on alien races, tech, planets, and other odd questions you might have about the "StarGate Universe"...I encourage everyone to at least take a look at it, :D

I'm not liking my comparison.

I love that episode Paradise, with the day repeating.

And CE, why don't you like it? Proud, religious warrior race.

I know I said I wouldn't do this... but I think I have to.

Scythirus is more like the Replicators. I mean if they put their mind to it they can even the Asgard a run for their money. But come on Anubis? Seriously man, dream on. If you had begged, borrowed or stole a PC to stay on NS then you'd be there.

That's it. No more. I will not assign every nation who asks a stargate race!

Seriously this must stop. Right now.

...

Ok fine, if you really want me to assign you a stargate race you can ask.
