I like mine how it is. I see it as a glimpse into the important developments of each of my nations. That way, I can kill off the leaders relatively quickly, and it will still make sense. I say, just let each person determine it for themselves.

Yes, a much better idea rather than a standardized one.

I, Pope Cristiano VII, hereby re-open this 3rd Catholic Council with the objective that it must find a solution to the looming succession crisis that awaits my death.

I am the last of the Blood Royal, the law created by my namesake Pope Cristiano V, there being no other family members alive to follow me and become Pope.

I therefore urge the princes of the Church, the Cardinals, to come to a decision at this Council as to what to do. A solution must be found lest the Chruch fall into chaos and sede vacantism.

We must pray that the Holy Spirit fills us with the correct choice and that the wisdom of all the Saints will descend upon us in this critical hour of the Holy Mother Church.

While Nag Ehgoeg recognises it has no bearings in a religious concil, we do offer a solution.

A hook- uh... "holy vessal" has been precured willing to bear the Pope an heir. Nagian fertility doctors are confident that the age of the Pope is immaterial, "if he's got balls we can get him to knock her up". As we are currently unawear if Pope's are to be celibate we also offer IVF.

We are fully awear you see us as the tools of the Devil and we don't really expect you to take up our offer, nevertheless it's on the table for you.

Erm....the offer is being declined.

IVF is banned and any Catholic that has IVF is excommunicated.

We're sure we can do it the good old fassioned way to if you let a docter poke around a bit with the Pope's bits...

But we understand.

OOC: Yeah, I would have thought you'd love IVF - celebacy and kids.

OOC: IVF requires more than one egg to be used with the knowledge that all of the other eggs will die.

It's murder basically because you know that they are going to die and you are willingly causing them to die.

Cardinal von Ehrfuhrt of Saxe-Coburg addresses the Council:

His Holiness Pope Christiano VII has made a valid point. Catholicism has reached a crossroads. With many nations of the world still hostile towards our faith due to the War of the Dawnsian Succession, Catholicism must become more close-knit. We need to pull together to make our religion, the true religion, strong and able to overcome any obstacles in its way. I see only one solution to this. The Holy Mother Church must return to more traditional ways. The College of Cardinals must be reestablished. The very idea that the Papacy, a position whose occupant must remain celebate, is hereditary, has shown itself to be outdated. God did not invest the ability to serve as Pope in one family. We need to elect our Popes. The Cardinals must choose who is to be Pope. God will give us the ability to choose the right man to become Pope. Let those who are in communion with God choose who is to become Pope.

OOC: Had this been said in a time when the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici family were still extremely powerful, that would have caused his excommunication!

I'm sure that Pope Cristiano VII would be, personally, extremely offended at the insult that he would conceive that statement to be true. To insist that his family had occupied the papal throne against the will of God is truly offensive to him.

But, they ain't powerful any more and he is all alone and by himself.

OOC: Well, I didn't exactly mean that the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici's had held the Papal Throne against God's will, I just meant that it was time for a change, and that Cardinal von Ehrfuhrt believed that God supported him in this.

OOC:  But a woman will still kill what? *Quick sums say 15 to 50... 35 years.. 12 months in a year... 30 times 12 is 360... 420* About 400-500 eggs through menstration. And they're born with thousands which end up dieing in the menopause anyway...

IVF is not natural and not what God intended.

Cardinal Tigatsu Machiru from the distant Orient land of Kiru Tao stood to address the Council.

"I concur with Saxe-Coburg's most wise and humble Cardinal von Ehrfuhrt. The College of Cardinals needs to rebuilt. By this act, we will show the world that our religion can adapt past any complexity that God deems fit to test us with. The Cardinals must be allowed to elect the Pope as once we always had. This tradition must be reinstated."

But then he intended us to not.
