Saxe-Coburg-Cologne Non-aggression Pact

In a solemn ceremony in the Great Hall of Cologne, foreign ministers from Saxe-Coburg and Cologne signed a 5 year* non-aggression pact. The pact simply states that neither nation will declare war on each other in the period of 5 years, and will not interfere in each others' activities.

This represents a diplomatic breakthrough between the two nations which have not had good relations over religious issues and boundary disputes in the Netherlands. But this non-aggression pact will ensure peace and stability in northwestern Germany for the time being.

The government of Cologne has muted radical Catholic propaganda and eliminated anti-Saxe-Coburgian statements from sermons as a sign of good faith.

As a token of our new, umm, non-enemyship, Prince Fritz invites the Archbishop of Cologne to the palace in Coburg to dine with him and his family.

The Archbishop accepts Saxe-Coburg's invitation. As a security precaution he will travel with 300 bodyguards.
