The purpose of this thread is to provide a quick reference with certain information about nations in our macroregion. That information includes the type of state that the nation is, what type of leader it has, who the current leader is, the titles possessed by the leader, the styles that the leader is referred to, and any symbols associated with a given leader or its nation. This information can be used for diplomacy, or any other purpose. Use my entry to provide the format for your entries. If you wish to add an entry, please private message me or telegram me with the appropriate information, so I can include all entries in one post. Replying will be used for discussion only. I will delete any information that is posted instead of being sent to me as requested. Notes: The word "the" is ignored for alphabetization purposes. When listing the leader type, I have used the male term, even when the current occupant is female. This is because the type is independent of the person, and the convention that I have been taught is to use the male term when speaking generically. In such cases, however, the title will use the female form, because it refers to the specific person. No slight is intended to any gender by my use of convention. ***** Nation: The Resplendent Dawn Long Form Name: The Orthodox Christian Oecumene of The Resplendent Dawn Capital: Antioch Region: Middle East Type: Empire, Orthodox Christian Head of State: Hereditary Emperor Current Occupant: Melchior Titles: Most Pious and Holy Emperor of the Resplendent Dawn, and Protector of the Orthodox Christians Style: His Imperial Majesty Religious Leader: Orthodox Christian Bishop Current Occupant: Photios Titles: Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Style: His Beatitude Imperial Flag:Posted Image Patriarchal Insignia:Posted Image ***** |

Thank you Egyria! One thing, I had wanted to keep all the database in the first post, which I would edit with information as nations provided it to me. This was to keep all such information on the first page if this topic grows big. Also, it would allow me to alphabetize by nation. Would you mind if I move the information in your post into the original post? Also, which capital should I list, or should I use both? |

Go ahead. List both capitals. While the current Sheik normally resides in Thebesia (Sheiks have preferences; Omar bin Kazali is Egyptian, for example), they are both regarded as equal capitals. -Egyria |

Alright, thank you. After I move the information, I will probably edit it out of your post, so it doesn't appear twice. However, I will not do so without your consent, ok? |

Catholic Europe, shall I add the titles from this list that are appropriate? It is the real life list of Papal titles: 'Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Patriarch of the West, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the State of the Vatican City, Servant of the Servants of God' |

Will do, they certainly are impressive! The only one I am not sure is appropriate is Sovereign of the State of the Vatican City, because the Vatican isn't a state in our roleplaying world. His title as Emperor of CE takes the place of that title, in my opinion. |

Thank you Nag. I will move that information into the main post, as with other entries. In your Styles section, I presume ER stand for Elected Regent? And the [Your Deity Here] part, that refers to anyone's deity theoretically, right? |

I think that it should be pinned just so that it can be accessed easily, and we don't have to wade through other threads when trying to use it as a reference source. |
