CELEB MAGAZINE WEDDING DRESS REVEALED Royalty watchers all over the world were overexcited to learn that the couple, already blessed with a child, will soon be joining in holy matrimony. And you can take that last part literally. For the first time in 78 years, an Imperial Family couple will be marrying in true Catholic fashion. There has been no official release as to a date or venue, but that at least part of the ceremony will take place in the Saint-Mary Cathedral of Zephyros seems to be an undeniable fact. Not only is it the most important and oldest cathedral of Patrua, it is also the place where the biggest Catholic European-rooted population lives. Apart from the 'Catholic Quarter' in Caputa, the only place in the Empire where Catholic Europe and Patrua meet. It is unorthodox for Catholics to marry this late, but with the First War of Succession spiking the relations betwee nthe Empire and the Latin Papacy, there was no real window of opportunity. His Great Majesty, the Glorious Prince of Patrua, Gravir's military service interfered as well. Now that the relations have been ameliorated, the wedding can proceed without painful absences or tensed ceremonies. It will be a special occasion and a special role for Prince Gravir the Younger, who more and more seems to be destined to become the next bishop of Rome. His Beloved Highness shalll be returning home to attend this joyous occasion for His parents. While the Imperial Palace shrouds itself in silence and secrecy, the designer that has been approached has been leaked. The store of Timothy Masanda, one of the new kids on the block fresh from the Zephyros fashion academy has reportedly been visited by cars used by government officials. The Imperial Palace did not deny the rumours and his website featured this picture: Posted Image His Illustrous Highness, the Glorious Prince of Patrua will probably be adorned in the dress uniform of the Imperial Armed Forces complete with the regal paraphernalia. Who the designer of the rings will be, is unknown. The bishop of Rome, Benedict will be attending the wedding too and might even be the one to to conduct the ceremony in Saint Mary's Cathedral. If not, it will be Cardinal August who will. The Cardinal has spend a lot of time in Catholic Europe recently. Partly as an active participant in the Third Catholic Council, but allegedly also as personal teacher to Prince August. It is no secret that Cardinal August, whose ideology favours the hard-line catholicism of the extinct royalty of Catholic Europe over the reconciliatory course preferred by His Benevolent Excellency, the Glorious Prince of Patrua, Gravir the Younger. Despite His Eminence's vehement advocating of Prince Gravir the Younger's candidacy for the episcopate of Rome, the Cardinal now seems to incline towards Prince Gravir the Younger's opponent, Prince August. Maybe the wedding is an excellent opportunity for all to reconcile their differences under the watchful eyes of His Most Majestic Highness, the Exalted Emperor of Patrua and the bishop of Rome. OOC. Since I'm leaving soon, I'm going to get this over with quick. Lemme know if there are any other nations attending the wedding. It'll be tomorrow. |

OOC: Well, that took me by surprise lol! Pope Benedict XVII will conduct the ceremony and will go to Patrua with Prince Gravir. Also, I hope there is a heavy veil to go with that dress! ;) And, the rings can come from the Catholic European Royal Family heirlooms. Prince August will not attend and neither will Prince Cristiano be taken over to Patrua. |

OOC: Oh yes that's good. Lucky I had posted Prince Gravirs ordination. IC: CEN News Update "With the announcement of the imminent marriage between long-time lovers, Princess Matilda and Prince Gravir Senior, Pope Benedict XVII and Prince Gravir Junior, their son, have left Genesis City on a plane bound for Patrua. This will be a milestone in history as Pope Benedict XVII will become only the second Pope in history to have visited Patrua (the first being Pope Gregory XVII aka 'Vacation Daddy'), and this amidst so much recent tension and hatred between the two nations. There will be high security and Prince Gravir Junior will be travelling in a seperate plane from Pope Benedict XVII. Neither Prince August, the Imperial Prince, or his young son, Prince Cristiano, will be attending this wedding. Instead, as normal, the Prince of Mourning will remain hidden away in Polanti. No official statement as to why the remaining members of the Royal Family will not attend this wedding has not been given. Secrecy is law in Polanti." |

Helicopters droned through the air, snipers had positioned themselves on rooftops and at windows, many a NISA spook or IPC agent was walking incognito among the crowds, the streets were filled with Imperial Police Corps vehicles, officers, dogs and fences, Imperial Coast Guard boats were afloat on the sea and in the docks and somwhere far up in the sky, an E-3 Sentry plane and fighter jets kept the air clean. Coming near Zephyros today would have been a bad idea. Part of the enormous city had been barred off. The fences along the road, guarded by heavily armed IPC policemen stationed at every four meters, were completely filled with throngs of people. Only three people had managed to get on the other side of the fence and had two extra IPC units standing near them: they were Carine Losanna, a cameraman and a sound man. The PNtv team had to lobby hard to get this exception achieved. The fenced street was empty until an IPC M1009 drove through slowly. It took half an hour for another one to follow. Then two IPC bikers drove past. But at long best, the patience of those waiting paid off. A massive motorcade made its way past. Very slowly and preceded by four more motorbikes, an enormous stretch limousine waving the Patruan flag on top of one headlight and the Imperial Coat-of-Arms on the other. Along side it, men of the Imperial Guard marched. Another limousine followed, flying the little flags of Catholic Europe and the papal seal on its hood. Here too, legionaries from the Imperial Guard marched close to it. Finally, two white stretch limousines with transparent windows at the back seats through which Prince Gravir and Princess Matilda respectively could greet the crowds. The latter went insane and the cheering grew to a deafening roar. Again, Imperial Guard soldiers marched next to the sides of the limousine as to protect it with their very lives. More IPC bikes drove next to them and formed an additional shield between the Imperial Guard and the rows of IPC units at the fences. The IPC men saluted the passing motorcade, without losing their focus on safety. The first part of the parade was closed by more motorbikes. Then more limousines followed, some had the flags of Patrua and the Imperial coat-of-arms of the Imperial Family and the coat-of-arms of the Earl of Zephyros, another flew the ones from Saxe-Coburg and the seal of the nation, many more didn't have flags at all. All still protected by the endless rows of Imperial Guardsmen and motorbikes of the IPC. The parade then passed a square which was devoid of people, but had a company of Imperial Armed Forces in parade uniform. An officer shouted something, and they snapped to present arms as the cars crawled by. Finally, they arrived at Cathedral Square in front of Saint Mary's Cathedral. The square had been vacated and was lined with IPC men. A red carpet ran all the way out and a military brass band started to play the national anthem of Patrua as the Emperor and Empress exited amidst loud cheers and preceded by their body guards and NISA agents. The brass band switched to "Voce Sapete" by Mozart as gently waving their white-gloved hands (from the military gala dress uniform of the Emperor, from the design white gala dress of the Empress), the Emperor and Empress greeted the people while walking to the entrance but stopping cold just before entering. Somewhere, Mister Pink must have been cursing in his cell. The second limousine opened and Cardinal August and Pope Benedict XVII walked out. The latter in splendorous liturgical clothing. Somebody in the public shouted something at the bishop of Rome, but it drowned in the cheers, he lunged forwards, angry and wielding something. An icognito agent next to him put his hands close to him, and the mischievous culprit suddenly went quiet and collapsed. He was carried off and none of the guests ever noticed. The Pope was the first to enter the Cathedral, reopening it ritually. The Cardinal followed, quiet and as if reprimanded before. Only then the Emperor and Empress entered. The car of the to-be weds had left the motorcade as all the other high guests started arriving. The son of the couple, the Princes and Princess of Patrua, the Earl and Countess of Zephyros, their sons and daughters, the Prince and Princess of Saxe-Coburg, the Patricians (Lords), the members of the Imperial Council, high military officers, the civilian top brass of the country, foreign dignitaries and friends of Prince Gravir the Elder and Princess Matilda. The Imperial Guard group of each guest escorted them outside the vehicle but stopped at the Cathedral entrance, forming an ever growing double line-up. The hymn changed to 'Sheep May Safely Graze" by Bach for the arrival of non-nobility guests but the most spectacular entry was still to come. The new Imperial couple came last in the two limousines and upon exit, the brass band played "Grand March from Aida" by Verdi Prince Gravir the Elder first walked through the Imperial Guard on both sides which presented their arms as the Prince passed to the Cathedral entrance. There the Empress appeared and took his arm to walk him down the aisle. The Princess arrived next and was given the same honours. Her father not being there to walk her to the altar, she was greeted by her father-in-law, the Exalted Emperor of Patrua. Again a skirsmish in the public. Inaudible to the attendants, another subversive person was neutralised through an injection, administered by an icognito NISA agent. In the Cathedral, a choir and the organ had started Wagner's "Wedding March from Lohengrin" as the couple slowly walked down the aisle of the immense building, the Pope leading the procession. His sermon was long and interesting and comprised a small paragraph which called for the restoration of the forgotten ancient bonds of friendship between the Empire and Catholic Europe. In his homily, the pontiff used the analogy of Kain and Abel to express the gravity of the sinful feud the two nations had been waging. It also contained a small expression of worry at the situation the Catholic European Patruans and Catholic Patruans in general found themselves in ever after the Catholic Uprising, calling on the state to put an effort to reconcile the two estranged population groups (Catholics and non-Catholics) with each other. Then he united the couple in holy matrimony, the rings, from the Catholic European Royal Family heirlooms were exchanged. On the tones of the "Wedding March from a Midsummer Night's Dream" by Mendelssohn, the recessional was started and the married couple went out to be greeted by the Imperial Guard again and had their official pictures taken. The couple and all of the attendants re-entered their vehicles and the heavily protected motorcade drove from Zephyros to the Imperial Palace in Caputa where the lavish diner would be served and the party would take place, both in the Imperial Palace complex itself and the enormous and lush Imperial Palace gardens surrounding it. The couple drove in one limousine this time, greeting the extatic people along the streets. At the diner and party, no expenses of the wealthy Imperial Family had been spared to impress the guests at the party. Nor for the brunch the day after, when the guests would have enjoyed a night of sleep in one of the many sumptuous guest suites. The flight back the next day would be sober and dull by comparison. |

CEN News Update "The wedding of the century, and one which can be considered to finally lay to rest suspicion and hatred between two superpowers, took place today between Prince Gravir the Elder of Patrua, son of Emperor Marshall XIX, and Princess Matilda of South Catholic Europe, daughter of King Fernando II and St. Queen Matilda. No expense had been spared by the Patruan family and security was immense, much unlike in Catholic Europe where it is traditionally thought to be divisive and has been discouraged, to the detriment of our leaders and their lives. There were some crowd problems but they were dealt with quickly and efficently, albeit in an unorthodox and heavy handed manner. The newly-weds arrived last, with Princess Matilda dressed in a spectacular white and golden wedding dress, along with a traditional long train and a heavy white veil. However, unlike in most Catholic weddings, her hair was visibly tied back, a sign of humiliation for having a child out of wedlock. The service, which was a full Catholic ceremony, despite the fact that Prince Gravir has still not converted, contained a lengthy sermon by the elderly and increasingly frail Pope Benedict XVII who conducted the wedding, not Cardinal August as many had thought would. His sermon highlighted the tension between the two nations and called for this to be ended, a key theme of his papacy. He also publicly, although in Latin, admonished Princess Matilda for her sins, principally that of marrying a non-Catholic and of having a child out of wedlock, however he soon went on to publicly forgive her of her sins. After the sacrament of marriage had been finished, His Holiness was treated to a lavish reception, along with the newly-weds and the other guests. The Holy Father will leave Patrua tomorrow morning for Catholic Europe. Prince Gravir Junior, newly ordained a Cardinal, will stay longer in Patrua to see his Patruan family and visit the Catholics of Patrua." More updates to follow. |

Its about time I age the Imperial children. Now as anybody familiar with television knows, it is a perfectly acceptable tactic to age children while very little time passes in the real world. So hear we go, 3 years from previous: Constantine, Prince of Antioch (equivalent to Crown Prince), 19 years of age Alexander, King of Gallia (my IC name for Resplendent France), 17 years of age Sarah, Princess of the Resplendent Dawn, 16 years of age Josiah, Duke of Damascus, 14 years of age Theodosia, Princess of the Resplendent Dawn, 13 years of age Some of these young royals may be open to some teenage romance, though the particulars would depend on their individual personalities. Any story ideas should be sent to me by private message. |

The death of a dynasty Is it good or is it bad? For 500 years, the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici family (previously the dos Santos Aveiro family) have ruled Catholic Europe. No other dynasty, throughout the regions, has had such an impact on their respective countries, or indeed, the world that the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici family have had. Now though, there remains only one of this Imperial family left - Pope Cristiano VII. Revolutionary change now awaits Catholic Europe, the Catholic world and the non-Catholic world when the Holy Father dies. Not only is the religious leadership employed by the Pope under crisis, for there is no successor, but the secular leadership of one of the oldest and most powerful and influential nations in the world also too remains vacant. A family that was once seen to be, perhaps, the most powerful faction ever, has now come down to one man. But how did this happen? How did this family start and what was its effect on Catholic Europe, the Catholic world and the non-Catholic world? And how has it now collasped in the most spectacular fashion, being, effectively, murdered by the very thing that they coveted and loved and worshipped the most - the papal throne? CIE (Catholics in Exile) will answer all of these questions and more in its in-depth historical biography of the illustrious and legendary dos Santos Aveiro-Medici family in a number of special editions, each concentrating on a different aspect, from the origins of this family, to the Kingdoms to the effect of the War of Succession on the Imperial Dynasty. Whilst many of our readers, the Catholic diaspora caused by the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici Popes, particularly the most powerful Pope ever, St. Pope Emmanuel I, will be estatic that the grip that this family had on our beloved Church is now in its last days, never to return, many of our brothers and sisters at home (Catholic Europe) will be extremely anxious, worried and scared of what will happen when the greatest ever family finally perishes and dies, no longer ruling their lives with an iron fist. The 500 year old legacy of this family, the builders of modern, devout, militant and Imperial Catholic Europe will remain with us forever, wherever us Catholic Europeans may be, in forced exile because of them or as obediant soldiers of them. What is for certain, the Church, Catholic Europe and the papal throne will never be the same again. |

--- A Patrua Press Agency Release --- Posted Image Patruan Bishop of Rome Dies Baghdad (PPA) A heart attack has felled the first Bishop of Rome to be of Patruan descent. His Eminence Gravir I, of Imperial Patruan blood through His father’s side and Royal Catholic blood through His mother’s, died after a relatively short and inconspicuous reign at the head of Catholic Europe and the Catholic church. The funeral lasted for five days and culminated, after four days of greeting the body, in a funerary mass and subsequent procession from the cathedral to the Dos Santos Aveiro-Medici dynasty’s crypt. The whole ceremony was sumptuous and had an Imperial Patruan delegation to witness the burial. Still, the amount of people that had come to greet His corpse and attended the procession was modest at most. In the Empire, a ceremony was held in most episcopal churches. In the Saint Mary's Cathedral in Zephyros a large ceremony was held where the high brass of the nation was present. The large turnout of Catholics mandated the construction of big screens on the square outside of the Cathedral. Gravir the Younger, as he was known in Patrua before His succession to the Holy See, was born from a highly unusual couple. His father, Prince Gravir the Elder, Glorious Prince of Patrua was the third son of His Most Revered Highness, the Exalted Emperor of Patrua while his mother was kin to the Catholic European royal family during the hostilities between the Empire and Catholic Europe in the First War of Succession. Nevertheless, the love between the two sparked off which was probably the only good thing to happen to the plighted Princess Matilda who suffered one torment after another as she saw her family members die one by one mostly as a result of the war and the aftermath. "The nuclear blast that razed Genesis City made my heart a wasteland too." she quoted in her memoirs. After her mother got executed, Princess Matilda changed to a more distant and cold personality. She was even reputed to have staged the poisoning of August, who was the contested successor of His Eminence Benedict XVII. August had been married and was therefore a less suitable candidate than Gravir despite the latter’s foreign blood. Gravir I was ordained in Catholic Europe after shortly taking a religious education at the Saint-Anthony's monastery of Dimani in Patrua. Cardinal August, initially a supporter of Gravir thought his views to be too moderate and switched allegiance to Gravir’s competitor August, who was inclined towards a more militant path of Catholicism. August’s sickness (or alleged poisoning) eventually rendered him immobile and passive for most of his short reign. His Eminence Gravir I concentrated on consolidating and rebuilding the scars of the First War of Succession and through silent diplomacy, He managed to end many nation’s hostile stance towards Catholic Europe. His death, however has heralded a new problem. The Bishop of Rome to succeed Him, Cristiano VII, is the very last in line of the Dos Santos Aveiro-Medici dynasty and the lack of a successor could plummet Catholic Europe and the Catholic Church worldwide into chaos. Either the conclave of cardinals will need to restart electing their Bishop of Rome or they will need to cope with an eternally vacant seat. Neither option currently has the biggest favour but the Third Catholic Council will further debate the future of the Papacy. |

The Portuguese Fisherman and his wife The Origins of the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici Dynasty - From rags to riches It all started just over 500 years ago in a little seaside village in Portugal, called Aveiro (which is where the family gets its name). The poverty in this area was absolutely grinding. The prospects were poor and many left to find a better quality of life elsewhere. Jorge Maria dos Santos Aveiro and his wife, Maria Teresa dos Santos Aveiro were one of those number to leave. Barely 18, both of them left Aveiro with only the clothes on their back and set off for Catholic Europe, which was a wealthy and devout Papal stronghold. After 3 months of travelling, the couple, the ancestors of the most powerful dynasty, finally made it to Genesis City and joined the millions of poor that the city housed. But they were not to be another statistic to add, they would not stay poor and rely on Church aid. Jorge immediately found work at a port and quickly began to rise up through the ranks. Soon, he found himself in charge of a company that he had only just recently joined. His shrewd business sense and devoutness made him a respectable man in Catholic European society and it was not long before he began to have a monopoly on the fishing industry in Catholic Europe. Him and his wife, having came to Catholic Europe as the poorest of the poor, now found themselves amassing a very large amount of wealth. At the same time, Maria Teresa gave birth to their very first child - a boy called John. John ended up being the only boy that his parents would have (they had a further 8 daughters) and he was doted on. The best education possible was provided for John and this meant a monastic education. All the time Jorge continued to amass wealth and power and soon tried to branch out into politics and government. He became a very close and good friend of Cardinal Emilio Rantani, who was the Cardinal of the State, one of the highest ranking Cardinals in the Church. It was then that His Emminence suggested to Jorge that John should be ordained. John was indeed ordained and became a disciple of Cardinal Rantani. At the time, Catholic Europe was in a state of turmoil between progressives and traditionalists. Pope Sidibie II had been assassinated during the infancy of John and now the moderate Pope Urban XI was on the papal throne. Cardinal Rantani was a fervent traditionalist (the original Latin Catholic militant and often revered by the dos Santos-Aveiro Family) and he made sure that his disciple would be of a similar mentality. John, under the patronage of Cardinal Rantani, quickly rose through the ranks and was made a Cardinal by Pope Urban XI less than 3 years after his ordination. This can be mainly attributed to the extremely forceful nature of Cardinal Rantani (whom Pope Urban XI was no match for) and for the extremely generous donations that Jorge paid to the Church and other Cardinals. Jorge died when John was 35, leaving his son an enormous wealth. The dos Santos Aveiro family was one of the richest families in Catholic Europe, rivalled only by the Medici Family, a traditionalist Italian family very similar to the dos Santos Aveiro Family. Maria Teresa died less than 2 years after her husband and Cardinal Rantani followed soon after. By now though, John was extremely capable of looking after himself. He had taken on Cardinal Rantani's extreme militancy but believed that Catholic Europe first needed to be consolidated and made ready to accept this true brand of Catholicism. This came to the forefront when Pope Urban XI, at the age of 73 was poisoned and died. The old wounds of traditional versus progressive resurfaced. Cardinal John, and the powerful Medici family, were firmly rooted on the side of the traditionalists and John was elected Pope John XXIV. The dos Santos Aveiro had truly reached the heights of power. From starting off as the poorest of the poor, Gods will had now placed them on the papal throne, head of His Church. Pope John XXIV truly believed that this miraculous turn of events was a sign from God that his family were destined to rule Catholic Europe. He was, perhaps, right in this assumption for from his blood came the Imperial Family of Catholic Europe, the most powerful family that the Middle East has seen and will ever see. |
