Camera's open on the all too familiar throne room of New Harumf, but the podium and the throne's are empty. Slowly, a procession begins. Various advisors enter, followed by, of all people, the Queen Mother, Margaret. At her side is The Bishop Laab, lastly, is a face that looks strangely familiar on a youth still in his teens. The youth takes the throne, next to the Queen Mother, and begins to speak: "I am Thomas, eldest son of King Emmanuel Rose, and Queen Margaret, and the true heir to the throne of New Harumf. Today, with the help of commandos from Patrua, Nag Ehgoeg, and several other countries which prefer to remain un-named, we have successfully secured the true line of succession. "My mother, the Queen, and Bishop Laab, my protector since the day of my birth, acted to prevent my father from abdicating the throne, removing the birth-right of both myself and my brother, and turning the kingdom over to my sister, the Arch-duchess Carol, and her "portugeese" husband. William lives, and is in the dungeons. Upon my coronation, I will marry his bride, now princess Filipa, picked up at an airfield in New Rome just minutes ago. I ask that the Pope in Rome Annul Filipa's marraige to William. If he will not, I will have William put to death and take her as my bride, regardless. "As to the war: we respect the right of a soverign nation to name its own rulers, and therefore will abandon any attempt to place anyone other than Malchor as emporer. We have ordered the withdrawl of all troups on Dawnsian soil. We have recalled our Mediterranean Fleets, and withdrawn our submarine blockade of the Suez canal. In addition we will repay Patrua and the Dawn for damages inflicted upon them by our armed forces. "As to troops forming to invade our fronteers - we ask you to stand down. If you enter New Harumf in any manner we will take that as an act of unprovoked war, and we shall fight you to the death. "As to our friends in Catholic Europe - we are still a Catholic Nation, and devoted to the Pope, and we still count you as our most prized ally. We beg you to step back from this war, and recognize the Dawnsian right to name their own leader. However, if this war must continue, we are forced to leave our two corps under your command, as attempting to unintegrate them from you would risk high casualties. "Finally, we beg all nations to leave this conflict in the Dawn, as this concerns none of us. Last night, before our raid began, I had a dream of a rising sun, and a lone man, commanding the sun to burn brighter. It burnt so bright that I took this as an omen. It was then I realized a fight in the Dawnsian wilderness was wrong. "Thank you." |

King William has been locked up in dungeons whilst Queen Margaret, the murderer of her husband, along with Bishop Laab, a co-murderer of Prince Luis of the East stand by Prince Thomas' side. They have left the war and have deserted us to a massive struggle for Gods work - to place a true Emperor on his throne. He has even co-operated with various nations who seek to bring down Catholic Europe and her people, namely Patrua. We will never recognise a Prince who does this - a Prince who shares so much blood with my self. A family member who has disowned and backstabbed his own family. We order that he step down and release his brother, the King, and release my sister, the Queen. If this does not happen, I will excommunicate Prince Thomas and place New Harumf under an interdict.'" Veritas et Pax Princess flies the palace Princess Matilda, the eldest sister of Pope Fernando I and King Amadeo II of the South, has finally fled the country and seeked asylum in Patrua. Her Royal Highness has, for a long time, been the centre and cause of much tension in her family. Always a rebellious person in nature, she was romantically linked, later confirmed, with Prince Gravir of Patrua. Her family, the Royal Family of the South Kingdom, were shocked and horrified by her disobediance and choice in partner - a son of a nation which is so hostile to Catholic Europe. Her father, the late King Fernando II, positively forbid the relationship but, with his death, the family reluctantly agreed to her courting the Prince - perhaps because they had more pressing matters to contend with. With the escalation of tensions between Catholic Europe and the Resplendant Dawn over the succession of the Imperial throne (Catholic Europe is valiantly fighting for Emperor Amadeo I, a grandson of Emperor Emmanuel and nephew to Princess Matilda), all out war was declared. Inevitably, Patrua came to the aid of the Resplendant Dawn and has been fighting against Catholic Europe. The pressure on Princess Matilda grew and grew. Finally, prince Gravir was forced to enter the military, most likely to prepare for his time to fight against us. The Family is thought to have been extremely angry at Princess Matilda for continuing the relationship (which has no doubt been consummated, furthering disapproval of it). With the dramatic turn of events in New Harumf, where her youngest sister, Queen Filipa, is currently being held hostage (as a result of Patruan help) Princess Matilda secretly boarded a private plane and flew for Caputa last night. She has been reputedly seen landing in the Patruan capital and a state car has apparently taken her to the royal palace of Patrua. The Patruan government has not yet confirmed this. This is a further blow to a family which was doing so well and now faces struggles in every possible way. |

News: New Harumfian sources have cooberated the rumor first published in CE tabloids, that, indeed, King Thomas will Marry his brother's wife's elder sister, Princess Anna. Early reports had the King so angry by the Pope's refusal to anul his brother's marriage that he was threatening to either pull a Tudor move and start his own church, or appeal to the Patriarch of the Orthodox church for an anullment. It is now understood that relationships are normalizing between the countries, and families, now that this compromise has been reached. In addition, Thomas has promised that his brother, and sister-in-law, shall remain as his "guests" in the royal residence for the rest of their lives. Also, Thomas has promised to leave one carrier fleet stationed in Cypress as long as the Pope desires |

The mass was overseen by the arch-bishop of New Rome, while the actual exchanging of vows was led by Bishop Laab. In a recent police raid on a newly discovered group of Ahimothedians, Crown Prince Abdul was found presiding over the sacrifice of a clergyman of the Catholic Church. Police intervened soon enough to save the man, who has asked that his name not be released. Twelve other Ahimothedians were also arrested. The Ahimothedians follow the teachings of a heretical monk from Asia Minor who believed that God could only be appeased with human sacrifice. He also taught that to be forgiven by God, one must first commit a sin. The Ahimothedians were discovered in a strange underground chapel. The chapel's walls were apparently covered with pictures of Saints bearing quite heretical expressions. The Altar was provided with grooves and a trough to catch blood from sacrifices. Underneath the alter the texts of Ahimothedes were stored. The chapel was put under heavy guard, and is being searched for clues in the death of Archbishop Apharsathchites, as a Ahimothedian amulet was found at the scene of the crime. Upon learning of her son's involvement in the cult, Sultana Maryam collapsed. She was sent to the Sindh Municipal Hospital. Sultan Suleiman made no comment on the situation, and has banned reporters from the Royal Palace. |

Princess Matilda, the Catholic European partner to His Venerable Highness, the Glorious Prince of Patrua, Prince Gravir has made an unprecedented and daunting move by fleeing to Patrua from her mother nation. With the Empire at war with Catholic Europe and nerves highly strung, her action was overall a very dangerous endeavour. Carine Losanna is at Zephyros International Airport." Stephan turns his chair to face the big screen where Carine Losanna can be seen, the airport behind her. Cut to Carine Losanna, attractive reporter for PNtv News. It is evening and the airport is a nice collection of colourful lights. The city behind it too, be it more monotonous in colour pattern. "Good evening, Stephan. This story certainly has left everyone awe-struck. Several people are seeing the political reality and reconigze the unique event of a Catholic European familiy member fleeing to the nation the Papacy not only abhors but is at war with. Some also make the connection to the earlier arrival of Bishop Laab and Patriarch Ignatios and fear for things to come. Most people however, seem to emphasize the romantic aura. Any planes that are intercepted and not flying according to the flight roster of the authorities, are intercepted by the Imperial Patruan Air Force which usually diverts them to an IPAF base. The fact that we're at war with Catholic Europe didn't exactly facilitate things, but once the story and cargo were verified, Princess Matilda was loaded onto a Tomahawk helicopter and brought to Zephyros International Airport where His Illustrous Majesty, Prince Gravir -who was granted leave from the Imperial Military Academy which is also in Zephyros- was waiting for her." Footage shown, taken with a telelense. Far in the distance, partly hidden behind an airport building feature, a black limousine is discernible at a helipas where the front part of one of Patrua's distinctive Tomahawk helicopters can be seen landing. Legionaries patrol the tarmac and bikes from the escorting Imperial Police Corps drive until they flank the front of the limousine. The rotor blades of the helicopter come to a standstill and there's a moment in which nothing happens. Then the bikes move slowly forward and the limousine follows, after which a jeep and a truck of the Imperial Police Corps close the queue. "Under heavy security, Her Royal Highness and the Glorious Prince were carried off. As you can see, the press asn't allowed anywhere nearby. An official statement of the Imperial Palace was given later that evening." Cut to the impressive steps in front of the beautiful Entrance Palace of the Imperial Palace complex. A small door next to one of the cyclopic double doors opens and a man in costume comes out and descends the stairs with nimble agility until halfway to where the press is gathered. "The Imperial authorities confirm that Her Royal Majesty, Princess Matilda has arrived in the Empire earlier today. The motives of Her travelling here are unknown and will be communicated to the press in due time. She is in good health and will probably be addressing the press somewhere in the foreseeable future. Thank you." The spokesman is showered with questions, but turns around and walks back up the stairs while Imperial Guards that had been standing at the sides, move in to keep the press at bay. Cut back to Catherine. "It is believed that the relation with Her Majesty's family, which is the South Kingdom Royal Family, basically the most powerful one in Catholic Europe, hit rock bottom when She remained firm in Her choice for Prince Gravir, even after Catholic Europe went to war with Patrua." Cut to Stephan. "His Glorious Majesty, Prince Gravir, will be mostly interned in the Imperial Military Academy the next couple of years. How will she live through that?" Cut back to Catherine. "The Imperial Family will probably be providing Her Majesty with whatever She desires. If the Succession War ends, the regime in the Imperial Military Academy will loosen up some, so that Prince Gravir will probably be home in the weekends and holidays. The question remains though whether Her Majesty can process the break with her family. Families and the Church are the basic social centres in Catholic European life. A return though will most certainly be met with severe sanctioning. That remains to be seen." |

In a very informal ceremony today, Prince Thomas and the very pregnant Princess Filipa were wed, with Bishop Laab leading Mass. Prince Thomas also delivered the following statement: "Today, I fulfill the promise made to my former wife, to take care of her sister as best I can. I do this willingly, as does she. From this day forward, Princess Filipa of the South Kingdom shall have her former title restored, and forever be Queen Filipa of New Harumf, the Amish Commune and all ajoining lands. I will retain the title of Prince-consort until such time as I can be coronated King of New Harumf by the Hands of the Pope in Genesis City. I will accept no suspect crown. OOC; So, what did you think of my poetry? I was on two Vicadins, and two double martinis, yet I managed loads of internal rhymes, consadance, imagery, references to greek texts, OK, my iambic pentameter suffered a bit, but one brushthrough would have corrected that. And puns!! Come on, what did you think? I thought I even captured the characters quite well. All I left out was Laab's long sililiquy at the end. Kind of as boring as Fortanbras's speech at the end of Hamlet. No comments? No accolades? No condemnations? I am insulted. |

Well, if you want my impressions, I was impressed. As it began, I thought it would be a modified version of something famous, like Shakespeare or something. Then I realized that it was orginal, and was rather amazed. I read it this afternoon, instead of last night because my electricity was down last night (though I had been in the university library earlier that night and responded to some other posts), and I didn't respond because other people had continued this thread. But I definately enjoyed your poetry! |
