The worst kinds of people always seem to end up in Nag Ehgoeg - the paedophile Pope, Pope Leo V, is 'buried' there. |

OOC: Nag Ehgoeg does seem to be some sort of magnet for the world's worse people, doesn't it. But, in this case, there is purpose to it. Also, FYI, Queen Mother Margaret was arrested and is in the Dungeons under New Rome, as ordered by King William. Now, if Nag is ever in the states, I'd like to buy him a good Tennessee Whiskey, just to see what sort of person attracts so many strange ones!! |

Bishop Laab in Nag Ehgeog: At dawn, the Bishop traveled, with Nagian guards, to the mysterious city of Haven, for a secret meeting with a prodigy who's fame in Nag Ehgoeg has been constantly growing. This young man, not yet through his teens, has written 17 symphonies of extra-ordinary beauty, 5 operas that have been performed in National Opera houses, is an accomplished portraiteer, an Olympic class dueler with the epee and saber, has written a book on the Political History of the Middle East, considered now the authoritive text on the subject, has lectured at University on theology, and whose dark hair, handsome features and gentle expressions have made him a heart-throb of all the young woman in the country. Still, his origins are unknown, and why "Mad" Bishop Laab would want an audience with such a lad, and why the young man would entertain the meeting is beyond everyone. More, as this strange and bazzaar story unfolds. |

New Harumfian spies have reported that Bishop Laab left Neg Ehgoeg in a small aircraft, accompanied by the mysterious youth from the city of Haven. In addition, a very small group of Left-handed brigaders traveled with them, perhaqps as a security detail. No one is quite aware where this plane is headed. |

--- A Patrua Press Agency Release --- The Herald NEW HARUMF MYSTERY PLANE LANDS IN PATRUA Caputa (PPA) While the Empire is sound at war with New Harumf over the Resplendent Dawn's right to govern itself, a small plane was apparently granted permission to land at a faraway Imperial Patruan Air Force base. What exactly is going on is most uncertain and the government shrouds itself in secrecy. According to official sources "a small jet plane with a New Harumfian designation number prefix was intercepted at 6.28 AM this morning, and escorted by F-16C's to an undisclosed Imperial Patruan Air Force base." Any other questions or suggestions bounced off the no-comment wall of the spokesman of the Imperial Armed Forces. It has become common belief though, that the mystery plane is the very same plane that took the contested Bishop Laab, an Amish security detail and their mysterious companion out of Nag Eghoeg earlier. The companion is said to be the young and enigmatic prodigy who had been making fame in Nag Ehgoeg before. The Bishop himself is also a highly controversial figure. He was considered to be a very influential man to the imprisoned Queen of New Harumf and an accomplice to the alledged poisoning of the late King of New Harumf. His clerical position too was tarnished when Bishop Laab enraged the Bishop of Rome and Cardinal August when he showed complete disregard of Catholic habits that apply to Good Friday. These findings are tentative, but not completely devoid of any truth. While the government maintains its silence, international media are quick in reaching the same conclusions that may not be as foregone as the authorities imply they are. With the war in the Resplendent Dawn growing fiercer each day, it remains to be seen how this little side story will impact in the greater scheme of things. |

CEN News Update "Whilst Catholic Europe is at war with Patrua, the Church has also made a formal declaration of complaint against the Patruan government as it emerged, albeit only as a rumour, that Bishop Laab, an accompalice in the murder of King Emmanuel Rose of New Harumf (formerly Prince Luis of the East) has been taken to Patrua. What he is doing there is unknown but many believe that he is returning to his employers - that is the Patruan government employed Bishop Laab to kill King Emmanuel Rose, a pivotal influence against Patrua. The Patruan government has made no reply." More updates to follow. |

Bishop Laab has settled in comfortably in a small air field in Patura. He has made an official statement that Patua in no way was involved in the killing of King Emmanuel Rose, and that the relationship between Bishop Laab and Patura is uniquely financial. Bishop Laab is, however, entertaining visitors. |

"The Patruan Empire has had no hand in previous events wherein Bishop Laab was involved. We have our own ways and services of dealing with people we want to see exterminated. We will not again stand accused of the conspiracy theories of Catholic Europe. Their complaint is noted and reciprocated with another formal complaint against their enforcement of illegal rule they wish to see established in the Resplendent Dawn." --- A Patrua Press Agency Release --- The Herald PRINCE GRAVIR ENTERS MILITARY ACADEMY Zephyros (PPA) With a war raging against the motherland of His sweetheart, difficult times are ahead of His Venerable Highness, the Glorious Prince of Patrua, Gravir Marshall. Carefully shielded from the press, they had a field day yesterday when a short photo shoot was allowed in front of the Imperial Military Academy in Zephyros. His Beloved Majesty remained stoic under the barrage of questions and left many a question untouched. Timing couldn't have been worse for the Glorious Prince. The problematic love between two children of rivaling monarchies took a turn for the worse when a long and exhausting period of political and ideological tension eventually culminated in a feisty dispute and eventually all-out war over the Resplendent Dawn's succession question. Prince Gravir was closely involved in the succession talks but took every delay or pauze as an opportunity to be with His love, Princess Matilda, the sister of the Bishop of Rome, Fernando I. Shortly before the escalation of the conflict, His Illustrous Highness attended the double wedding of Prince Carlos and Princess Carol and Prince William and Princess Filipa in Genesis City but was humiliated when Fernando I devoted twenty minutes of his sermon to insult the Empire. His dissatisfaction showed the more when His Serene Majesty refused to applaud at the end. That was the last time the love birds were seen together in public. Upon return, His Prodiguous Excellency was called to fulfill His military service, like any other Patruan. Like all members of the Imperial Family, He will becoming an officer at the Imperial Military Academy in Zephyros. It is uncertain how long the war will last, but in wartimes, the training is more intensive and demanding so that officers graduate at a quicker pace. In the worst case, His Grand Illuminesence could get a field commission within three years. Then it still remains to be seen whether He will be deployed at a battle theatre or not. His Glorious Majesty looked relaxed and patent this morning at the Imperial Military Academy's entrance, in His cadet's uniform, the first one He ever has worn. He dodged question that infringed on his privacy and responded ad rem to the others. "I'm proud and prepared to do my duty, as all Patruans should be." was the reply to if He looked forward to his five years of service. A reporter who asked if His Imperial Highness would look unfavourable to a commission in the Resplendent Dawn, had to do with "If that is where I'm deployed, then that is where I shall carry out my orders to the best of my abilities." No answers were given to questions that were directly or indirectly about Princess Matilda and the contradiction of fighting the monarchy she belongs to. After a half hour, His Infallible Highness entered the gates of the Imperial Military Academy where He shall be spending most -if not all- of His time becoming an officer. |

CEN News Update "Prince Gravir of Patrua, the 'boyfriend' of Princess Matilda, eldest sister of Pope Fernando I, was today forced to begin his military training, as is usual for all Patruans of that age. However, this is not compltely ordinary as the couples motherlands are at war with each other. Princess Matilda has not given a statement on what she will do about this, but she has not been seen with prince Gravir since her brother issued a virulent sermon against the evils of Patrua at her youngest brother and sisters wedding. Tensions between the couple are thought to have escalated as a result of this, perhaps an intention of the sermon as the SOuthern Family has never approved of this relationship. However, prince Gravir himself seemed less than enthusiastic at the prospect of fighting against his loves life and it remains to be seen what part in the war effort he will play." CEN News Update "Queen Filipa of New Harumf, wife of King William and youngest sister to Pope Fernando I, has announced that she is pregnant. This is her first child and will be heir to the Harumfian throne though, thanks be to God Almighty, the succession is secure and we will have no need to protect the childs right to that throne - unlike the issue of King Amadeo II and Queen Maryam of the Resplendant Dawn, Emperor Amadeo I." Two Black hellicopters fly just inches off the ground in a black midnight sky. If we could see the landscape, we would see it is desert, but in the distance, the lights of a great city glow. Near an empty road, the 'copters land, and ten masked men in black jump to the ground from each machine, and begin off-loading their equipment in steel boxes. Just up the road two trucks approach, headlights out. Silently these men load up the trucks, and the vehicles take off in the dark toward the city lights, while the 'copters angle away from their landing sight. Within seconds, all is quiet and still, as if the scene had never occurred. Sleeping sheep, the only witnesses, put their heads back down, and only the desert wind makes a noise. |

A very dark, underground stone hallway appears empty, except for the occasional rat that scurries by. One an hour, a black-booted guard with an automatic weapon walks through, carrying a lantern, that displays the dank, brown, stone walls, and a sewer grate in one wall. Five minutes ago, the guard had passed. A rat sits against the far wall, when suddenly, there is a brief flash of light. The sewer grate clanks to the floor, and the rat stares blinking. Men dressed in black, with black hoods start coming up through the sewer drain, until about a dozen are in the hall. All is still quiet. The rat finally runs away. They start moving noiselessly down the hallway, and slowly the corridor begins to lighten. They've reached a t-junction with a larger, better lit corridor, and wait quietly against their walls. Footsteps are heard, and low voices. At just the right moment, two of the masked men in black step into the hallway and grab two armed guards walking by, and quietly, but efficiently, slit their throats. They signal to the rest to follow, and begin quickly going down the new passage, properly lit, but now empty. Soon, they stand pressed against another wall, with a door open, leading to what appears to be some sort of chamber. Voices can be heard in the chamber, some laughing. With incredible speed, three of the men in black push into the chamber, and open fire with muted and silenced machine guns. The guards in the room fly off stools and chairs, too far away from their own weapons, and collapse in pools of their own blood. Quickly, two others approach a huge metal door, and apply some device to the hindges. They turn away, and there is another flash. The door falls open, and they rush into the doorway, coming out seconds later with someone wrapped in a blanket. All head out of the chamber, but instead of heading back to the sewer, they proceed in the other direction, as silent as the night, into the dark corridors. |

It is late at night, in a chappel lit only by candles for prayers. One lone figure is kneeling in the front row, praying intensely, silently. A close look reveals it is the form of a man, no, more a boy, really, dressed in regal clothes. Sobs can be heard, and between the sobs, the "Our Father", in latin. As he prays, a lone figure approaches silently down the aisle. He kneels behind the boy/man, quietly. Without looking, the boy/man says, softly, "I've been expecting you. What has taken you so long." The figure behind him stands up, puts a hand on his head, and says, "William. Pray for me as well." He then pulls out a daggar, and holds it to the boy/king's back. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, on the Island of Cypress, amid the noise of war, a princess named Carol, who shared the womb with the boy/king, sits up in her bed in the middle of the night, screaming. |
