Ottomaia News Associates bringing you news from the far reaches of the south of Corsairio where the elastic forces of the strike slip fault between the European and Arabian tectonic Plates finally gave way for a 7.0 Earthquake that destroyed Fwi Charbuz, Jask, Qesh'm, and Theory today along the south border of Corsairio. 20 million homes were either destroyed or badly damaged by the rampaging aftershocks after the initial air shattering blow of the earth herself. 30 million Theorists (citizens of the city of Theory) watched as the Sultan's palace burned down after a gas line under it had ruptured and ignited, sending a river of fire all along the southern coast as people were sleeping at 4:00am this morning, as reported by the USGS, or United States Geological Society. The Sultan managed to get out after feeling preshocks a few minutes before hand. The death count has been totaled at 720 Corsairs, 20 Elians, 2 Kiens, 1 Paradisian, and 1 Catholic European. Help has been requested from United Elias, Kahtan, and Paradise; however, no answer as of yet. May Allah protect us, And may he send more news our way. Ottomaia News Associates |

The Dominion of The Family of Saab We extend our condolences to the Cosairo people The Kingdom of The Hearts of Men Know that our hearts reach out to the people of Corsairio in this most troubling of times. And though the very earth cleaves beneath them, let the people of Corsairio know that their faith in God will allow them to persevere for whosoever is patient in the tribulations befalling him will surely drink of the cup of His love and taste of the sweetness of His remembrance. Every trouble that touches their heart in their love for Him is an evidence of His tender mercy, every fiery ordeal a sign of the brightness of His light, every woeful tribulation a cooling draught, every toil a blissful repose, every anguish a fountain of gladness. The Kingdom of the Hearts of Men is comforted in knowing that the tenderness of His mercy surpasses the fury of His wrath and His loving-kindness exceedes His hot displeasure for he is verily the Beneficent, the All-Merciful. We hope that such knowledge may bring comfort to the people of Corsairio, as well. Warm Regards, Khalifa Imam Ahmad Aqazadeh-Khoi Emir of the Kingdom of the Hearts of Men "The thing He hath reserved for Himself are the cities of men's hearts, that He may cleanse them from all earthly defilements, and enable them to draw nigh unto the hallowed Spot which the hands of the infidel can never profane. Open, O people, the city of the human heart with the key of your utterance." |

"The government and people of the Empire of Patrua wish to express their condolences and sympathy about the tragedy that struck Corsairio. The Empire itself is located at a vergence point between three tectonic plates and is often subject to destructive seismic activity as well. Therefore it has very capable teams and equipment fit to deal with such calamities. Yet the Empire will abstain from sending any help. Still fresh in the people's minds are the execution of medical personel -members of a disaster relief squad- during a relief operation in Ansars when that nation suffered heavily from an earthquake. As announced soon after, the Empire of Patrua shall not be involved in rescue operations henceforth unless when the Imperial Council deems the nation in need is safe and befriended enough. Our apologies and sympathy once again; may this suffering soon pass." Enid Guava, President of the Committee of Foreign Affairs |

We express our condolences to Corsairio and the people which were struck by this massive and most destructive earthquake. Catholic Europe knows too well the horrors of an earthquake and the recent one in Corsairio was also felt across much of south Catholic Europe. Damage was minimal though due to our preparation for such seismic activity. Pope Pius XIII |

To Enid Guava: Thank you dearly for your condolences. A wall is in the works to commemorate the deaths of the Southern Corsairs. We understand your fear, but admit that no extremist groups lay within Corsairio, much less Theory and the south. The death count has risen to 3,027 people, most unidentified. To Pope Pius XIII: Thank for you seeing the compassion in your hearts and minds and bringing it to our heavy consciences. We would appreciate some aid, as our resources have been stretched thin. From the 300 billion dollars (US) in destruction, we have been only able to fix 4 billion dollars worth, stretching it to help everyone. It is not providing the funds needing to reinstate people into their homes, the Sultan's Palace, and the damage to the railroads. Middle East Relations Vizer Qosh Jubohz |

Yes it pretty much leveled it. We in Corsairio are not reknown for our architecture, and our private sector is non-existant, so our economy with regards to social standards are pretty low. |

Well, I'm merely stating the truth. It was unwise to not look after or fund those areas, wasn't it. We all make mistakes. |

Then let's mend them together, and bring an everlasting peace between our two nations. "Ottomaia News Associates reporting from Qesh'M, where the Sultan has announced that the national debt will be increased by 500 Windmarks per person with the foreign aid he has recieved. He has made the deadline for cleanup to be February 9th, 2004. As for the death count, it is not complete at 20,641 people, 2,000 identified." ONA will keep you posted on this tragic story. |

Morduur Channel: Your first in Corsairio Happenings. This is Christi Amanfour with the news. "The deadly earthquake in Theory and the southern states last week has reaches the total death count as rescue crews have given up the search. Said one worker this morning, 'It would have to be the entire faith of the world for a single cell to be alive in the smoking wreckage of the South. D'arsthrash Jao Prishtan'" "The count stands as 53,006 dead, 68% Corsairs, 22% Catholic Europeans, 5% Kienslanders, 3% United Eliasi, and 2% Paradisians. Indeed the count is so high that the Sultan is donating a giant rock monument to be built in the holy city of Qesh'M, on the coast of the south west Corsairio, to commemorate all who died by the mighty hand of Allah. The monument will be called Death Tower, which sounds crude; when translated culturally in Corsairion Hindi, it means 'Spire of the Mighty Ancestors.'" It will be made of diorite and set on the high Grop Cliff, ancient home of Renaissance poet Marco Pecconi, on the edge of Corsairio mainland territory. |
