Seeing as this whole place is dead, I'm calling it. Nintendo Trails is over.

But I've got so much more notes and plans and all manner of things the group never even encountered, and it seems a shame to let it all evaporate.

Ask anything, and I'll answer. Maybe you're wondering where the wagon would've been able to go, or what would have happened if you made a different decision or failed a puzzle, or brought a different mascot along.

Go ahead and ask.

Sorry guys it's partially my fault. Though I guess we're all at fault.

Anyway, what would have happened if we didn't pay back Tigre's loan on Day 5? Also, would we encounter Rip again? Speaking of Rip, could you explain what exactly was on the Mapkin?
Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi

Tigre would be an optional boss fight. Optional in that there wouldn't be a fight if you paid him the full amount. If you refused to pay him, or if you came up short, then the fight would start. Tigre's stats would be based on how much money the party still owed him. So if you owed him six coins, he would have 3 HP, 1 SP, and 2 Attack. If you owed him more, then he'd get an extra stat point for each missing coin. He would be a difficult boss because the special ability I had planned for him, Roar, would randomly swap his stats around. So he could suddenly go from having 15 health and 2 attack and 6 SP to 6 Health, 15 Attack, and 2 SP.
If you beat him, that's the end of the matter.

There would have been a 50/50 chance of encountering Rip or his treasure hoard in the Hide Here spot on the Mapkin.

The Mapkin, following Rip's personality, was meant to blend useful information with useless stuff. That secret code in the top right corner was nothing, for example. As was Skwidland. The laser birds, like you guessed, were Ho-oh.

If you traveled to Ecruteak City instead of the forest, you'd have gone down a path with some trainers to fight. You'd get to Ecruteak and see the two towers which act like dungeons. The Burned Tower, if you get to the bottom, would result in you meeting the Dog Trio. They''d book it and become random encounters through the course of the game.
The Bell Tower would be a series of fights as you climbed up the tower. If you made it to the top, you'd fight Ho-oh. If you didn't catch it, it flies away, leaving behind a rainbow feather and a bag of ashes. The party can choose to pick up only one, the other will be blown off the roof by the wind. The Rainbow Feather will summon Ho-oh to a battle to use Sacred Fire to deal heavy damage to all enemies. The Sacred Ash will heal and revive all party members a single time out of battle.

I had the basic idea of all the other possible locations written out too.

And the hot dog stand woulda been the final boss. #truth

The burnt tower was more rewarding then I figured! It is disappointing we couldn't continue, but how about the cornfield?
How can I help you?

The corn field would get you abducted by aliens from Banjo-Tooie. You'd be given a choice to entertain their bratty kids by stealing a rare you from Frantic Factory or fighting in a Fire Emblem arena. An unstated third option would be to fight the aliens, and commandeer their ship. If you did, you'd get intercepted by the Egg Carrier the next day.

Since I realize there wasn't even enough information to inspire questions about, here's all the possible destinations we could have gone to.

And since we never got far enough, if the party gathered four Mysterious Seeds by the time they got to Toad Town, they would open a path to Flower Fields. The Blueprints would let you build a rocket to take you to the X-Naut Moon Base.

Spoiler: click to toggle

And I feel really bad because some of you guys went way above and beyond when I asked for location ideas. So here's some special mentions.

Blubble Lake:

Windfall Island
