Long after Tabuu's defeat, the Master Robot was able to reverse the effect of Subspace to bring the Isle of the Ancients back. The R.O.B.s resides deep within the floating island. Far below is a vast ocean. Due to the effects of Subspace, many defenses are still offline. The inner workings are very complex with many different paths, and even a few fake walls. Bottomless pits and high walls cover much of the base. Intruders with low jumping abilities or lack of flight will find it very difficult to progress. The base itself now resides in Subspace. Simply put, you can not enter Subspace without creating a Subspace Portal. One can be created with any Subspace explosion. The Ancients have their personal portal that only works for them. Defenses: 2 Blast Doors: 20 days each - A simple mechanical door that will not open for foes. It's rather strong. These guard the only entrance. 9 Subspace Launcher: 40 days each - Missiles that tear a rend into Subspace. As a result, it creates holes in its target where Subspace has consumed something. Strong but inefficient against individual troops; it's better against large machines. Captured objects/troops are sent to the Great Maze. Reflector: 40 days - This Reflector technology was copied from Slippy. All projectiles sent at the Isle of the Ancients will be reflected back to the target. It does nothing to direct physical attacks. Phalanx Radar: 40 days - More advance then telescopes, this radar scans in multiple spectrum to assess movements within Subspace or its boundary (Subspace Portals). 2 Mites Portal: 40 days each - Releases an endless stream of Mites, weak melee fighters that are still dangerous in groups. The Portal has to be destroyed to stop the flow of Mites. |
