Well things had to be perfect. Even though her house was kept in order she made herself clean it twice since she'd be entertaining a male tonight.

The feather duster hadn't seen that much action since Sugah-Hog had used to to fake sword fight with Tails and a broom.

Her knick-knacks got moved around a bit. Her desk got a good cleaning and her bookshelf got dusted up to the bottom edges of her books.

How far can Ah go without makin' it seem like Ah'm going too far? Dinner wouldn't be bad but a table set would broadcast a warnin' flare. She wasn't the best cook in the world- well maybe she was better than Sally a little. She started on the roast earlier in the day.

Her main concern was getting her mind in order to get back into "the swing of things". Sally had so many things happening now that surely she'd accept some help from her ol' best friend. An' the only way to be able to help would be to get to know what goes on in a "ladies" role. All she knew about what "ladies of the court" did were from the fantasy books she'd read to the kids before their bedtimes. An' even then they didn't exactly elaborate on those roles. The girls always seemed to just be there to do something obvious that the main girl didn't see herself.

Bunnie was putting on the finishing touches for the evening and early to boot when she caught a look at herself in a mirror. "Oh dear! Ah look like Ah just took on a whole heap of robots." Her ears drooped, fur was a mess and matted, even a few stains on her leotard.

A quick shower should fix me up good, but... This is mah last day suit.... oh jeeze Ah hope he don't mind Ah'm gonna be wearin' mah laundry clothes. Shorts and a loose shirt.

She finished just in time to make it appear like she hadn't done anything all day at the clock struck 8.

Antoine was making his way to Bunnie’s place, whistling a cheerful tune of old Mercian origin as he did. Astonishingly, instead of his usual crimson and gold-trimmed navy blue uniform, he now wore a white long-sleeved tunic, along with a pair of well-shined black boots and a black sword belt adorning his trim girth. Truth be told, it felt surprisingly nice to dress down for a change. Under his right arm he carried a stack of books, while a bouquet of daisies was clutched in his left hand. He had gone back and forth with himself about bringing the bouquet along, wondering if it was too much at this early point, but then figured that the lapine would appreciate the gesture. He was excited about his date (well, they had called it a lesson, but that just seemed like a thinly-veiled code word for "date" to him) and eager to see to Bunnie.

When he did finally arrive at her hut, he started to raise the hand holding the flowers to knock, but suddenly stopped. Placing the bouquet beneath his left arm, he took a small mirror out from the pocket of his tunic and intently studied himself in it for the umpteenth time to make certain he looked presentable, moving carefully as he did so as to not drop the books or the daisies. Satisfied, he replaced the mirror and returned the bouquet to his left hand before finally rapping at the door. “Bonjour, mademoiselle Bunnie!” He called out.

There was a knock at the door. It almost startled her as she was unaccustomed to taking in visitors these days. She opened her bedroom window which sat near the "porch". Ant was dressed up a bit fancier than she had expected. But she had also been "out the loop" on much. "Give me just a second, Shug."

Panic set in. It was a date! Not laundry night! She was in her shorts and a shirt! What on mobius had she been thinkin!? "He'll figure us fer a backwoods rabbit and write us off fer shure!"

Bunnie grabbed at her shirt and flung it into the corner. She didn't bother tryin to find her underclothes- she didn't want the poor coyote to stay outside too long. Unfortunately she had left the window open so most of her short words and grunting could be easily heard outside. "Come on, girl! Get-It-Together!" she grunted out while hopping in one place to get her shorts around her gargantuan ankles and metal feet.

She peered into her dresser and pulled out a pair of undies and rushed to the closet to see what she had. Bodysuit was so... well... standard. If this was gonna be a date she'd need something a bit more colorful! Besides she wanted to impress him. Make him wanna say "oh la la- let us being forgetting the books and seeing what else we could be studying, non?"

Oh dear, anymore thoughts like that and he won't want a thing to do with us. Let's be conservative- there- the purple and white sundress. That's more like it. A quick slip into it and voila! However she couldn't help but give a quick spritz of perfume to her chest and abdomen. A girl can hope, right?

Bunnie calmed herself before going back to the front door. "Sorry, Antione. Ah couldn't find mah key." Never mind the fact her door didn't have a lock. "Come on in, let's see what y'all got for a future lady of the court to be learnin'."

She guided the coyote over to the living room. "Do we need to talk about anything before gettin' started or do Ah need some books for mah head to balance on? What about some water or Ah do have a small selection of adult beverages." She smiled softly. "Now don't be thinkin' Ah'm trying ta get us tipsy with that but it's what Ah got."

She already had her tea sitting out. It had grown cold but she didn't mind.

When his would-be paramour requested a second longer before opening the door to him, Antoine patiently waited as she did... well, whatever ladies did. Probably fixing up her hair or giving herself a spritz of perfume or something, he figured. In fact, he could hear her shuffling around and talking to herself inside. Trying to politely ignore the noise, Antoine occupied himself by checking himself out in the hand-held mirror some more, repeating his juggling act from earlier. Heaven forbid he'd be caught with something in his teeth.

A rather startled Antoine nearly dropped books and all when Bunnie opened the door and invited him in. He just barely managed to catch everything, though one of the books ended up falling to the ground. 'Still as clumsy as ever', he thought with annoyance. “Sorry, sorry...” He began to apologetically mumble, reading down to grab the book. As he stood, he remarked, "That is alright. You look quite fetching, by the way." Indeed it was true. It was unusual for him to see her in any clothing other than her lavender leotard, but it was a refreshing change he thought.

Antoine considered Bunnie’s inquiries as she led him to her living room. “Um, well, I suppose we could go ahead and start…” Somewhat awkwardly, he thrust the cluster of daisies in her direction, a somewhat bashful smile on his muzzle. "Oh, but before we do, these are for you."

Adult beverages huh? Well, he was eighteen, so there was nothing stopping him from drinking. And they would allow youngsters to drink wine in Mercia, so he didn't frown on alcohol. “What kind of drinks do you have?”

She was melting a little. He complemented her looks and she could sense how tense he was. Then out came the flowers! "Flowers? For me!" She tried her best not to look absolutely excited. "She took a careful smell of the bouquet. "These are very lovely, Antione. Merci." She clumsily leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "That was awfully thoughtful of you." She smiled brightly. Gingerly she took them to the counter at her kitchen and lay them down.

"Well, y'all are the teach- Ah ain't got no clue as to what a lady does an' doesn't do othah than the regular curtsey and not spittin' in front of people." She stopped for a second and retrieved dinner from the oven. "Now Ah did cook somethin' fer us ta eat later on but it should cool down first."

He was handsome tonight. A regal quality almost. She was lost in thought studying him when she finally came back.
Uh, right, drinks. She went to the cabinet. "Ah got Red, White, some othah stuff in a green bottle with no label... Soda Water, water, an' Ah know Ah got juice and tea and such."

She could still see he was tense in the shoulders. "Y'all can relax, hon. It's still same ol' me. heck Ah figure we've seen more of each othah on certain days way back when then most of us would care to remembah!"

She tried to sound sincere atleast. Truth was she was rather enjoying his company even though it had only been a brief time already.

The fixed the glasses and brought them to the table. "Alright. Ah'm ready to learn."

Antoine couldn’t keep a happy grin off his face when Bunnie gushed over the bouquet and thanked him in French. It would seem he had made the right choice in bringing the daisies after all. However, he was completely unprepared for when she leaned in and actually kissed him. At that moment, it was almost like his brain stopped working for a minute or two. Managing to recover his control, he haltingly replied, “You are… welcome,” his spirit feeling lighter and less nervous.

The coyote watched as Bunnie briefly left to fetch dinner. “You made dinner? I did not know you could cook.” Among the Freedom Fighters, Antoine had been known as the one who was handy in the kitchen, so it came as a surprise to him that Bunnie could cook as well. His azure eyes suddenly widened as he realized what he had just said really sounded like. How could he blurt out something like that? It sounded like he was doubting her cooking skills! “Er, I did not mean -- that is to say –- um, je suis désolé*, it really smells wonderful!” He attempted to smile. There came the nervousness again.

He listened as she rattled off their drink choices for the evening before finally nodding. “The white wine sounds good.”

Unsurprisingly, Bunnie could pick up on his tension. Most Mobians could sense heightened emotions, though a number of them lacked the tact to appropriately deal with them, Antoine had dryly noted on many occasions before. Chuckling a bit at the Southerner's wry comment, Antoine exhaled. “It is just that I am worried about whether or not this evening will be going well. I have not been with a lady in such an intimate setting before.” He said with some embarrassment in his tone.

He had spread the books out on the table. They had come from his mother’s collection, and bore such titles as “Court Etiquette and Protocol”, “Elegant Women”, and “A Guide To Courtly Manners”. Bunnie had stated that she knew some of the basics to being in a court setting, which was a good start. "They must look a bit a dry, I know.” He said, referring to the books as he took one of the glasses she had returned with from the kitchen. "But being a lady is not that hard. Above all, ladies of the royal court are mannerable and gracious. I think you have that part down.” He smiled at her, only this time it was more genuine and comfortable. “I suppose we can start what to do when you first arrive in court. While in court, you must address the soveriegns and other royalty by their title. Sally would be 'Her Royal Highness', for example. Or 'Her Highness' would suffice as well.”

*Je suis désolé: I am sorry.

"Such an intimate settin'?" She thought to herself. A look around the room did say intimate. The lighting was lower than normal with emphasis on the coffee table and corners of the room. "Thank goodness he's noticing!" Was her second thought.

Wait, he used the "L" word: Lady. Truth was Bunnie thought of herself as a lady in many ways, but in a way too she was unaccostumed to being considered by others as such. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes for a moment considering how she should proceed. A great joy had been brought to her heart hearing Antione praddle a bit in his curious nature.

All she could do outwardly was hand him a tea glass with his drink in it and give him a tender rub on the neck with her soft hand.

Bunnie tried to sit down next to him in a soft manner, trying to hide her gross tonnage from her metal parts.

"Mannerable and gracious?" He was putting on the charm tonight. She liked it.

Bunnie sat up straight as he instructed her on the basics. "Right, Her Royal Highness in public right or is that an all-tha-time thing? Like Ah can't call her Sally to her face 'cept when we're off the clock?"

She picked up one of the books. "Elegant women," she said aloud. She flipped through looking for pictures. Of the few she found they showed dainty females of indeterminate species all in the same pose. Regal could be the only words she could find. She studied the pictures carefully and tried to think of her own picture in the book next to these drawings. She could mimic their poses but tried not to think about walking or moving around much. She'd have to get her arm cannon rewired to not "pop out" when she got ticked off.

Antoine seemed to be geniunely enjoying himself in her company.

Reality came back after a moment of her mental picture editing. "Sorry, hon. Got lost fer a moment." she adjusted her sitting position to where she tried to tuck her legs to the side and crossed, just like the ladies in the book. However her "size" and parts made it impossible. "Now how am Ah supposed to sit like these girls here if Ah can't even cross mah legs on a good day? Ah know that Sonic and Sal won't care but.... how am Ah supposed ta make a good impression if Ah can't even look tha part?" She wasn't angry sounding, just concerned.

Taking the glass offered to him, Antoine thanked Bunnie before taking a sip. The tea tasted good. When she reached a hand over and began massaging the back of his neck, he flinched a bit, surprised, but gradually relaxed into it, closing his eyes with pleasure. It was really quite enjoyable with just the two of them here. Rather than being awkward, the silence between them felt companionable. “You think you are not mannerable and gracious?” He asked, throwing a curious side glance to the rabbit, who was now sitting beside him.

He nodded in answer to her question regarding the proper title for Sally. “Anytime the both of you are in public. In private, we can be much more casual with her and Sonic. Oh, speaking of which, Sonic is either ‘your majesty’ or ‘his royal highness’.” Antoine wondered was he the only Mobian who thought that ‘King Sonic’ still sounded rather odd. Sometime he wondered if Sonic really enjoyed all the trappings and rules that came with being a king.

Bunnie meanwhile, had picked up one of the books he had bought and was flipping through it. He waved her off when she apologized for becoming so engrossed with looking through it. He had bought the books for her to read, after all, so he wasn't annoyed with her or anything. “I think this one has better pictures.” He said, picking up a thinner hardcover book and showing it to her. The image of a female feline in an elaborate ball gown curtsying to someone out of view.

Antoine hadn’t even considered the Bunnie bought up next. Truthfully, he was so used to her bionic limbs that he hadn't realized that they would make it cumbersome for her to do things that most Mobians took for granted. His expression became thoughtful as he mulled over the problem. “I'm sure that we could be figuring a way to deal with this eventually, cherie. Besides,” he added, “You will be wearing a long dress, so you could be able to get away with not having to cross your legs.”

"well if Ah can get away with it then, Ah guess Ah will!" She laughed a little.

Thats when Bunnie caught herself sizing up Antione. Oh geeze if he caught her doin' that who knows what he'd think... well he did bring us flowers aftah all.

She closed the book, "Antione. Can Ah ask you a very direct question?"

The sound of her laughter was like the sweetest music to Antoine's ears, and he couldn't resist chuckling along with Bunnie. He didn't catch her studying him.

When Bunnie posed her question, Antoine looked at her curiously, wondering what was on her mnd. "Go ahead."

Bunnie sat back and placed the book in her lap. She swished her drink a little. "What y'all think the odds are that you're gonna atleast try an kiss me? Ant' Ah swear Ah ain't desperate or nothin' but Ah ain't gettin' any younger."

She tried not to sound too...nonchalant about the whole thing. She glanced at the open door to her bedroom and then at the nervous coyote. "Ah swear Ah ain't no prude or anythin' of the sort. Ah'm open to some sorta relationship with y'all. But if nothin' is there then nothin's there sug. But Ah'm kinda hopin' somethin' is, ya know?"

Antoine nearly choked on his tea in mid-sip. The bluntness of her first query had surprised him. If someone had asked him would he have wanted to kiss Bunnie, he would have readily answered yes. But he merely figured that such an occurrence was strictly limited to his dreams. After all, didn’t Bunnie really prefer Rotor to him?

Their date (‘Might as well call a spade a spade’, he though) wasn't even finished yet. Typically, didn’t the couple kiss once the night was through? Embarrassingly enough, he had never gotten that far with a girl before. And with his luck, he'd probably trip over his own feet and crash into her or something.

Coughing to clear his throat, he fixed his gaze on the rabbit.

Bunnie's next words make sense. It would be prudent to know if there was truly anything between the two of them or if this was just another case of him pursuing someone who had no real interest in him. He was not about to go through that again; once was enough on his heart. But Bunnie did seem interested in him. A part of him was still too scared to get his hopes up however. Maybe Bunnie just really viewed him as a close friend and nothing more.

It was funny that she said that she wasn't, because seeing her glance at her open bedroom door produced an audible gulp of nervousness from him. He wondered if that had any significance or implications.

"You mean... you actually like moi? Antoine? As a beau?" He asked in disbelief.

She said nothing. She could see Antione was nervous as all hell. Who could blame him either. She knew sometimes she was too forward. Maybe it was against her better judgement.

Bunnie picked up Antione's glass and walked to the kitchen. It was a slow walk. She wasn't in any hurry.

"Well, if beau is what y'all wanna call it then, yes." She poured his glass full of wine again, and then her tumbler with wine. She took the opportunity to "adjust" her dress a little. Might as well advertise a little, right? On her return trip to the sofa she took a different route: she came up from behind and set their glasses down on the table by leaning over him. She let her right hand brush his neck a little.

She seemed calm, "Antione. Don't rush into anythin' on mah account. But here is the facts- yes Ah like you. Like "like you like you" if that helps. Ah ain't seein' no one. If y'all are free then ta me it makes some sense to at least fool aroun' a little."

She came back around and sat down, unpinning her hair. It wasn't long. Really not long enough to justify pinning it up, but everything seemed to fall to around her shoulderline. "If you're into all that "waitin' fer marriage" stuff then thats okay by me. Ah respect that." She furrowed her brow, geez, how do Ah NOT sound like a hussy aftah sayin' that?" She tried to shake it off.

"May I?" She watched the nervous coyote. He seemed on the verge of a meltdown. She got up and walked back behind Antione. Gently she placed her hands on his shoulders and began to rub as gently as she could. Her hopes were that he wouldn't freak out at the situation or that she wouldn't forget to keep her robotic hand in check and not crush his collarbone.

"Ah'm open to a beau-belle relationship if you are."

Bunnie left the room and returned with a refilled glass, which Antoine gratefully accepted with a “Merci”. The sensation of her hand brushing across his neck sent a chill down his spine.

Antoine allowed himself to digest her words. He wasn’t quite sure what to think now. He would have jumped at the chance to court Bunnie, but did someone as belle as her really want somebody like him? Sure she said she did, but inner thoughts weren’t the same as what came out of someone’s mouth. The women who had flirted with him before were pretty, but in his eyes, none of them were as lovely as the rabbit (plus, he suspected that some just wanted to be with him because of his royal connections and rank).

Initially, his hopes were high for the evening. He believed that this was indeed an actual date and not just him helping Bunnie study. But he was being too eager? It was something of a bad habit of his, being so focused on a goal that he ignored the truth even if it was staring him right in the face. Maybe she was missing Rotor and was latching onto him for company. He had heard the comments from other Mobians before – “That Bunnie and Rotor really have chemistry, don’t they?” or “Does Rotor like Bunnie as more than just a friend” and so on and so forth. To be fair, they did spend quite a bit of time together. It had become the walrus’ unofficial duty to upkeep Bunnie’s bionic parts, so Antoine supposed that such a close relationship would turn into something more. And he knew Rotor was a lot more stable then he himself was, as far as his personality and life went anyways. He didn’t know for certain if Bunnie and Rotor’s relationship had indeed turned into something more – until recently, he and Rotor hadn’t really been friends for the longest time, so Antoine didn’t expect Rotor to confide in him about who he happened to be dating. Bunnie had even used the used the term “fool around a little”, so perhaps all of this wasn’t as serious as he thought it was.

He merely nodded distractedly when Bunnie requested to massage his shoulders again. Antoine was so consumed by his concerns that he didn’t relax into her touch like he had before. He considered his glass as he carefully chose his next words. It was hard to be rude or snappish to Bunnie, even if she was leading him on, but this question needed to be asked.

Turning slightly so that he could see her face, Antoine kept his voice level as he asked. “This… this whole thing would not be because… Rotor is not really part of the Freedom Fighters anymore and is busy with the council, is it?”

She stopped rubbing when Rotors name was mentioned. Until that moment everything had been going as well as it could.

"Well, Sug, it'd be a lie if Ah didn't say Ah missed him none." Her eyes met with his. This was serious Antione she was staring at. "So y'all deserve the truth."

Bunnie pulled aside from the coyote and sat back down on the sofa. "Oh gawd why does he wanna hear this? It ain't nice ta talk about others relationships with othahs. It's plain...rude" She thought to herself. Her arm came to grab a little at her robotic limb like a child would grab at something when searching for the right words. "Me an' Rotor... well... it's hard to explain."

Oh dear lord... please get me through this one!

Bunnie sat looking at Antione knowing full well what she was about to say was going to sound absurd. "Rotor wanted me... for mah body. Not just the intimate times but *sigh* Ah felt kinda like a science project y'know?" She shut her eyes trying not to sound psychotic or turn off Antione. "Part of, well, bein' me, is that Ah require some special attention." Her right hand slipped up the fabric of her dress and slowly pulled the printed dress up a little but then let go as she positioned herself to show him her left arm socket. her fingers slipped the strap down her metallic upper arm stopping below the joint. "Y'all may have seen this a thousand times before," she parted the fur where the metal and flesh joined, "Sometimes you know I have problems. This needs loosen'n or tight'n or even reattach'n." She seemed shy for once. "Rotor showed me compassion when Ah needed it most. Ah didn't know what was goin' on or what Ah was doin' sometimes. One night the whole mess just froze below the waist." Now her cheeks were red. "Uh... like ah said. Rotor showed me compassion. We didn't really do anythin' bad." She slipped the dress back up to her shoulder and pulled back.
"So don't be thinkin' anythin' bad about me, hon. Ah ain't dirty or nothin'. When it was all new it was professional. If he had to do any work around any sensative areas he did so with a doctors touch. Ah guess over the years of havin' these parts it became routine."

Her prospects of the night were beginning to dim. She hated it when a guy talked about their previous relationships. She couldn't tell if Antione was okay with what she was saying or becoming repulsed.

"But, Antione, please understand it from mah angle- What is between me an' Rotor is between us. That bein' said there ain't no "us"-me and Rote. He was kind. Aw hell, Ah sound like Ah'm at his funeral! He IS kind. But it became clear he was more interested in me as a rab-bot than me as Bunnie." Again she rolled her eyes, "When Ah'd go to visit it was always "ah got this new idea," or, "let's try this," or, "how is your nervous system today?" and aftah a while a girl wants flowers not upgrades. Y'all strike me as a flowers kind of guy, not as a upgrade kinda guy."

Even she was sounding crazy to her now, Bunnie buried her face in her hands. "Ah don't mean it like y'all ain't a good guy, Ant!"

No matter what she said it sounded worse than what she said previously. She made a grab at Antiones glass and gulped down his wine trying to calm down and fill her mouth with something that wasn't words. Her eyes caught a book that Antione had brought. She grabbed it and held it at Antione. "Rotor wouldn't bring me a book about how to better mahself, he'd bring the book about how to make me better."

She put it down between them, "well," she flopped back against the back of the sofa and stared straight ahead, "anythin' else y'all wanna hear me blabber on about?"

She had turned herself off. She remembered the pool from earlier. No she couldn't let this one slip by. She had come home after that in hopes that she'd get something. She hadn't been completely sure but it seemed now that she wanted Antione as atleast a closer-than-close friend.

"Please, sug, please don't think poorly of me. If Ah wanted Rotor Ah could'a had him." Bunnie stared blankly ahead. Here is where her inexperience played in. She had never invited a guy over and then spilled her guts on the floor. At this point it seemed like "the ball was in his court". Either he'll say to forget about it or it'll be a problem. Lord please, don't let this be a problem.

Antoine was the sort of Mobian whose emotions were constantly reflected in his body language and face. At the moment, his eyes were suspicious and his mouth was set tightly as he gazed back at Bunnie. When she launched into her story, he felt his heart sinking, and his ears drooped. He knew it. He should've listened to that snide little voice in the corner of his mind that had warned him that he was wasting his time mooning after someone who didn't want him. It was ironic -- the girls that he really wanted didn't want him.

But as he continued to listen, his expression softened somewhat. Maybe (hopefully) he was jumping to conclusions about her toying with him or wanting him as a pity date. He didn't flinch or anything when Bunnie showed him her roboticized arm -- he had seen the limb countless times before.

Azure blue eyes wide, Antoine watched the rabbit bury her face in her hands. She was genuinely upset. It was weird for him to see Bunnie like this. Generally she seemed so tough and self-confident. He remembered wishing to himself that he possessed her level of self-assurance. He didn't quite know what to say. Should he allow her to go on, or say something?

His indecisiveness took too long, because Bunnie suddenly gulped down his wine. He was surprised -- he hadn't been expecting her to do anything like that -- but he didn't protest or anything. Honestly, she probably needed a drink right now. Then she picked up one of his books and basically told him that Rotor would have never done anything like this for her. What she was saying sounded like the Rotor Antoine knew. It was well-known (at least to those who knew him) that the walrus had a major interest in mechanics and things like that. Aside from Bunnie and that French Arctic Freedom Fighter, Antoine couldn't recall seeing Rotor spending much time in the company of girls.

Bunnie didn't seem like she was making all this up. Obviously, admitting all of this was deeply embarrassing for her (certain parts more then others), and he didn't think anyone would want to put themselves through that. According to her, her and Rotor's relationship wa purely professional, nothing more. He suddenly felt guilty for putting Bunnie on the spot in this manner. He had really wanted to know the truth, but not at the expense of disturbing her so. His face plainly showed this.

"*Pas, pas. Je suis desole..." He caught himself as he realized he had slipped into French. "I mean.... I didn't... I do not think any less of you or anything." He suddenly became really interested in studying the sofa. "I did not mean to upset you. I just thought you might like him more then you do moi." His voice become little more then a mumble.

*No, no. I am sorry."

Antione was apologizing. Him! Apologizing! She was the one goin' on and on about a "relationship" she semi-had with another man.

Bunnie knew he had pined for Sally all them years ago. Back then he'd never give up on Sally. The guy never got the hint... wait... he still wasn't getting the hint.

"Well Bunnie-girl? Do we just throw ourselves at him or clue him in? He's so delicate Ah hate ta just go 'take me, antione!' that might scare him." She thought to herself as Antione became interested in the sofa fabric.

Time to take charge.

"Antione. When a girl is visibly upset..... like Ah am..... it's okay ta wrap your arm around her." Bunnie spoke softly with a firm yet kind tone. She looked stern when she realized Antione was being timid. "Y'all are the man. When a girl shows a weakness or two in this kind of a situation don't be afraid to put a move on her." Bunnie crossed her arms over her chest. She searched for words but then looked down, and then lay her hands at herside. She almost pushed her chest out a little like a rooster would their chest. "Like this, hon. Shoulders back, chest out, head heald high. An' then y'all say somethin' like," she tried her best antione voice, "Ah, but mon Bunnie, it matters not what ever you have done with your pastings! All I am wanting is to know I am not bezing on some else's turf!" She seemed to fall back and then in a false female tone, "Oh no Antione, Ah ain't a taken by no man!" She flattened out her facial tone, "Like that, silly."

She lay against her side of the sofa and took up point against the coyote, "Now. We can salvage the rest of this here ol' night by either buryin' our noses in the books or we can post pone that," she said figiting around with the books on the sofa cushion, "Or we can play a game Ah call "the truth" an' fer the next hour or so we say what's on our mind, without gettin' angry or emotional, to each other. Cause Ant," she took his hand in hers, "Ah saw the way y'all were a lookin' at me in the pool and earlier. Y'all are dressed up not for a teachin' session like a normal teacher would. A man don't look a woman that way unless he's after her. Its that same look you used ta get after Sally girl, an' frankly Antione, Ah like it when y'all look at me like that."

En guarde!

Antoine’s ears drooped even further. Although Bunnie was not speaking to him sharply or anything, the fact that she needed to direct him in how to comfort her made him feel like he had no business even being here. He was the male, after all – he should’ve known to do that from the beginning when she had first started growing distressed. Was it too late for him to try that now?

“I... er, don’t really talk like that anymore...” He mumbled under his breath when Bunnie launched into her impersonation of him. He wondered if he should just call it a night and return tomorrow or something, but then he might have looked like a coward in her eyes. “But you are right. I guess I am not really good at dating even after all this time.” He admitted with a sigh, guiltily looking her way.

Antoine gave the rabbit a sidelong glance as she returned to sit on the couch, though he turned to face her when she proposed that they either return to their studies or play a "game” (though he know that it wouldn’t be a mere game at all). “The Truth?” He glanced down at the slender, soft-furred hand grasping his before his face took on a slightly more resolute expression. “Very well. And for the record… I… like looking at you. You are a very belle femme.”

Bunnie didn't like it when Antione lowered his ears. She'd hit a nerve she didn't mean to hit. Carefully she pat his hand trying to make him feel better. "Ya'll are doin' fine at datin' sug. It just takes a little while. Ah forget how nervous y'all can get. Ah'm sorry."

Then "The truth" started.

"Y'all think Ah'm really attractive?" She'd loved hearing that when every anyone said it. it made her feel normal. Antione went one step further, he LIKED looking at her. Fireworks were going off in her mind.

"alright. The truth. Ah asked y'all over heah tonight Antione under the guise of... y'all teachin' me some ol' tricks ta get onto the court. Truth is, Ah already know some of this stuff. Ah just wanted y'all ta come over to be with me so Ah ain't so lonely no more. Ah was serious about foolin' around. Ah guess Ah kinda get coop'd up here like a ol' chicken sometimes and it's been so long since Ah entertained a male." She said putting emphasis on the last word.
She shook her head, "Antione. The truth is Ah think y'all are really attractive. Ah put on a dress at last second that had a low cut top just to see if y'alled make a little ol' move on me. Ah get depressed sometimes cause no one has evah made me feel like a lady. Ah mean... no this is the truth... Antione. I'm sorry. Ah was kinda hopin' y'all get a little tipsy and then show me that Merdian passion Ah've heard about."

She looked to see if Antione was processing okay.

"Now, here's where we ask each othah questions. Ah'll go first. What's the chances of us forgettin' about these books and gettin' to know each othah... bettah?"
