OOC: Pretty much right ... except I have to move it to another location when I get back from work. /spoilers ~ Dr. Finitevus

A jet was nowhere near fast enough. It was absolutely maddening having to sit through a quiet time back to Portal knowing the havoc going on in their Kingdom. What was even worse was not knowing all the details. What was going on this exact moment; had the Freedom Fighters and the Council managed to take control in the end; or would they even be King and Queen when they get back? If Eggman thought he could just move in like that and take control, well, he had another thing coming. Their persistence to keep up their freedom and peace was just as insistent as Eggman's desire to create disaster. This was nothing new. What was, was the magnitude in which that mad scientist had struck in.

He wasn't sure if he'd ever forgive himself for his selfishness. Sonic knew it was him to blame for having left their people behind. He hadn't talked much on the jet, and couldn't help but think Sally still resented him for this idea of a vacation. In fact the two hadn't talked at all since they boarded. It was a shock to him to think they weren't even gone for two days and all hell broke loose. But maybe he should have anticipated that. He should have anticipated the worse and never put his people in jeopardy no matter what he wanted for himself. It wasn't about him anymore. He was King and he had responsibilities to live by whether he liked it or not.

Sonic sighed heavily, looking out the window and tapping his foot. Still not there. But they were close. Of course they couldn't land right in Portal but as soon as they hit the ground, Sonic knew he could be there in no time. He had no intention in waiting for Sally or taking her at all. It was far too dangerous. He had told her before they left to see if she could rally nearby troops or find out where any of the civilians might have taken refuge to.

In the meantime, he'd see if anything could be done back at their Kingdom. With the kind of mood he was in, he had hopes to take out a lot of stress on something or another.

Deep in the ocean, a blue submarine was about to intercept the plane, it's objective clear. Not to allow King Sonic reach the shore, and make sure that no one would find him. First part was already underway, the subramine's intricate sensors arrays had already jammed all transmission out and in from the area, so even if someone would investigate this, they could not know exactly where the plane had disappeared.

Charyb looked at the red dot in the radar, and then gestured an order. Gizoid operating the controls pressed a button, that sent a transmitter signal using hijacked satellite that was in the orbit. From there, the signal was sent into a distant location, one that did not promise Sonic and Sally any good. In the distant Eggdome, Doctor Eggman's missile launcher system started executing it's new orders of which Eggman himself did not even know about. Coordinates were locked, missiles prepared, and then launched. Three tactical cruise missiles started making their way towards the distant jet. They would reach it before the plane could even see the sight of the continent.

Charyb looked at the monitors, and timers in them. It would be roughly two minutes before missiles would hit. A blue gizoid did not really understand why they had to do it this way, they could have just launched a full payload of Eggman's nuclear arsenal, or even better, shot the plane down themselves. Charyb could not even imagine why Ix wanted Sonic and Sally alive, But Imperator's orders were clear, and they were obeyed. Stop the plane, make sure that the royal couple stays alive, capture them, and shift the blame away from Nocturne.

In the plane, it's pilot saw three dots coming closer in the radar, and it took a moment for him to understand what was happening. After that, he was unsure for moment what to do, but then decided, and took the mic from the wall, while at the same time trying to increase their speed, so they could reach the mainland before missiles would hit:

"Your majesty, we are under attack! Please come to the cockpit!"

...They must have been even closer than he thought. But he honestly didn't think they would be put into any jeopardy. Sonic's eyes widened, looking over at Sally, concerned of course for her safety. Besides that, if he was going to be any help to anyone, he had to at least make it to Portal alive.

"Buckle up, Sal. This might turn into a bumpy ride..." Sonic headed quickly to the cockpit. It was a time like this he wished Tails was around. He bet he could help assist the pilot a lot better than he could. Then again, maybe just like the old days he could get out on the wing... Take care of some business.

"I'm here." Sonic snapped, looking out the window, trying to figure out what to do. "How many are there?" He glanced at the radar system, figuring he could see for himself by the time he answered.

She knew that she wasn't simply being paranoid. The nagging feeling that ate at her the whole ride to Soleanna was indeed her conscious warning her of their grave mistake of leaving the kingdom on holiday. The fact that they had to essentially "sneak" away from the palace should have spoke wonders about the childish, selfish act they had committed.

Needless to say, Sally had nothing to say to Sonic on the jet.

As much as she wanted to chastise him, reprimand him, yell at him... there was no time for that. Their kingdom was in an utter state of turmoil and order needed to be restored immediately. How were the others currently faring? Would there even be a palace to return to? The queen wouldn't normally think so pessimistically, but within their current predicament, it was harder to deviate from those dubious thoughts. The closer they arrived to Portal, the worse they became.

"Buckle up, Sal. This might turn into a bumpy ride..." Sonic mentioned, before hurriedly heading to the cockpit. "Wait a minute, Sonic--!" She rose a hand in protest, having been so engrossed in her thoughts that she hadn't heard the pilot's desperate cry. She frowned deeply, not one to sit out on the action, yet the plane wasn't big enough for them to maneuver. Reluctantly, she stayed in her seat, tightening her seat belt instinctively.

Anxiously, she peered outside of her small window, albeit with some difficulty. The circular shape of the frame messed with her peripheral view, though she was to catch a glimpse of their impending targets. Eyes widening and tensing visibly, she snapped her head toward the cockpit. "There's a group charging right at us! How far are we from land?"

//Sorry, sorry and again sorry for the reeeaally late post, been both sick and busy : / \\

Pilot looked at the radar, and then hastily shouted in response to the Queen's question:

"Too far! If those missiles hit us here, even if me manage to use parachutes, we would just end up floating farther away from the continent!"

And then there was this special...thing that King Sonic had with water, although the pilot was too polite to say it aloud.

"This plane does not have either speed or manoeuverability to evade that many missiles! Especially since they probably are targetting this plane."

Three missiles came closer, now just a few moments away from catching their target, and then destroying it, if something would not be done.

"Probably?" Sonic looked incredulously at him. It seemed pretty obvious that was the case. Well the last thing he needed was a further delay to gettin' home. The situation looked pretty grave but he was never one to give up. He only grew more determined; where there's a will, there's a way.

"Alright, I'm goin' out the emergency hatch." Seemed like a death sentence! With all that water around and those missiles locked on target, it was a supposedly helpless situation. But Sonic has had his hand at fightin' off things like this. The only thing that made him lack some confidence was the fact he normally had a much better pilot and the Tornado to catch him. This maneuvered poorly; but he had to save at least the people on board.

"Keep it going straight." Sonic instructed the pilot. It was imperative he listen or else this may only work in the passengers' favor.

He went into the back of the plane and made sure Sally was strapped in before pushing open the side door. It took a lot of effort to be able to climb onto the wing and eventually the nose of the plane but if anyone could do it, it was Sonic the Hedgehog. From there, anyone could see what he was about to do. Crouching down with his eyes focused on one of the missiles, he prepared himself for launch. He used the muscles in his strong legs to propel him forward in a sudden jet of blue. He had rolled into a ball in the air and used the impact to cause one missile to explode. Smoke went everywhere and it was doubled when the same hedgehog used that explosion to bounce from one missile to the other.

If the pilot had listened to Sonic, he'd be heading straight for all that smoke and missile debris! He wouldn't be able to see a thing as the clouds engulfed the plane, causing it to shake violently. At that point, he might have even dropped in altitude, but there was a reason for the direction. ...To be able to catch a slightly charred hedgehog who fell on top of the plane just as the pilot cleared through what could have been potential disaster.

//Bit lame post, forum ate the first one.\\

The pilot did wonder why he was supposed to fly towards the missiles, but just trusted that King Sonic knew what he was doing. He followed how Sonic opened the door, and then went outside, only now realizing what the blue hedgehog was going to try, and just turned his head back to look at the incoming missiles.

"Prefect, Sonic is standing on the plane. It seems he is going to try to do something to missiles."

Charyb turned around to look at the gizoids who had said this, and then turned his gaze towards the screen, where you could see a blue blurr on top of the plane. This was ridiculous, there was no way even Sonic could...

"Missile One destroyed. Missiles Two and Three des..."

The blue gizoid was already running out of the bridge when the first missile exploded, towards the airlock. This was was bit unfair in it's opinion. People were supposed to die, when they were shot with missiles. Imperator would not like this, but they had to alter the plan now.

"I can't believe it! He just destroyed all missiles, all by himself!"

The pilot turned on the autopilot, and then started walking towards the door, intending to open it again and let Sonic inside. But then there was a sudden crash, sound of metal breaking, and the pilot noticed how something blue came from the floor accompanied by a jet of water, and went through the roof of the plane. To his horror, the pilot fell down, and noticed how suddenly he was falling back towards where he had came. Whatever that thing had been, it had just cut the plane almost in half, and now the gravity was doing the rest.

What good was ensuring she was safe when he was about to practically commit a suicidal move? It was ridiculous! She cried out in protest and similar incredulity that the pilot expressed, though she soon calmed herself.

Dangerous reckless was how Sonic did things whether she approved of it or not. And despite the chipmunk's justified disapproval, she trusted him. Albeit reluctantly in this dire case, but she did! She couldn't even begin to fathom the consequences if this ambush deprived their embattled kingdom of their king...

Stubbornly unstrapping herself from her seat, Sally cautiously stood behind their pilot, watching keenly. She was ready to reprimand the pilot should he ignore Sonic's orders, but of course, he held trust in his King as well. "To fly right into the midst of all of those missiles, he would have to destroy them all..." the chipmunk relayed aloud, gripping tightly onto the closest seat. Physically, she might not have been able to accomplish much, but "simply" sitting back secure in her seat was not happening. Since when has she ever accepted feeling helpless? The queen continued her musings, "He must want him to catch him after the blasts. ... That reckless fool."

Sal was almost tempted to laugh, the urge growing greater as Sonic, unsurprisingly, destroyed all of the missiles. Some things really don't change, do they? She cast the pilot a brief grin, nodding in acknowledgment at her husband's feat. "Don't get too excited. We have to actually get him back, remember?"

The pilot then set the plane onto autopilot, the auburn-haired chipmunk stepping out of his way, still focused on the smoked, aerial path, glancing around in a reserved panic for Sonic's charred form. No doubt his fur was singed from such an explosion! "Come on, where are you...?" she murmured fervently.

The abrupt, sudden of metal breaking disturbed Sally's focus, immediately averting her attention toward the noise. Just barely had she caught sight of something... blue shoot through the floor via a powerful jet of water and out through the roof, thus forcing the plane almost in half! Alarmed, the queen emitted a terrified yelp at the immediate downward grasp gravity had upon the destroyed craft. Hands still clutched instinctively around the seat she had grabbed before, she shut her eyes tight, frantically attempting to get a hold of herself.

Vaguely, she had recalled the pilot falling back violently back toward her, so, thankfully, he wasn't dead.

But that blue thing... what was that? Sonic? No... it couldn't have been Sonic, that thing came underneath them! There's no way he would have been able to get under them. And the water! Where had that come from?

...

Eyes widening a slow, ominous revelation, Sally stared horridly at the cut where the plane was disfigured, shaking her head. "Sudden, h-high propulsion of water... Sonic... he m-must missed a missile..." Of course, she couldn't be certain in that statement, yet her frantic mind couldn't comprehend any other feasible conclusions.

Ugh! Regardless, of how the plane was destroyed, it didn't deter the face that it was.

Neither of them certainly could fly, and Sonic... oh, what did happen to Sonic?!

A panicked frenzy began to manifest the royal's paralyzed fear.

There... There really was a potential that they were going to die this time. Not there wasn't potential before, but this realistic opportunity of such a fate had never been so clear. The definite prospect was maddening!Optimistic thinking could only so much against reality. She doubted that a random jet would conveniently swoop in and save them or Sonic, who had yet to reappear, would find some miraculous way to get them out of this disastrous predicament. Really... they had taken such moments in the past for granted.

That didn't mean she couldn't embrace some hope, though. How many near-death experiences has she gotten out of before? There had to be a way, there just had to be!

Charyb had busted right through the plane, which was now falling apart below the blue gizoid. It was time to do what they came here to do. The blue robot scanned both Sonic's and Sally's position, and then activated the transmiter. In response, gizoids inside the submarine activated it's warp chamber. A flash of light, and both the royal couple and Charyb disappeared, only to appear elsewhere, leaving the plane crashing to the ocean, and the screaming pilot with it. Doing this kind of instant warp was enough difficult with only three targets, the blue gizoid did not want to risk it, and a single mobian of no importance was an acceptable. Only King and Queen mattered.

A moment later, and Sonic, Sally and Charyb appeared in the middle of the teleportation ring in the submarine, where dozen gizoids were already armed and ready, pointing them with an impressive array of different weapons. The blue gizoid quickly jumped behind the other gizoids, and then turned towards the royal couple. It was fully aware how much damage Sonic could cause if he wanted to in here, so It was best to convince the blue hedgehog very fast than it would not be wise.

"King Sonic. You are in a transport that travels underwater, we can all swim and we do not need air, you and your wife however are a different case, so please refrain from any hostile actions, and surrender quietly. You will not be harmed."

Here he was going from victory to peril all over again. The plane shook so violently from the first attack that he nearly lost his balance and fell off. It made it hard to get back inside as he regained his footing but he didn't get much of a chance to figure out what had just happened. There was no way he missed one of those things. He got all of the missiles. But this was something else!

The fear of falling into the water was creeping back upon him. He had to think and do it fast in order to save them but he wasn't sure what more he could do. Then, as fate would have it, it seemed that their lives would be spared after all.

Sonic blinked, gawking at his surroundings as he suddenly appeared with Sally under water in a transporter. He looked his wife over quickly to make sure she was alright before turning his sights to their apparent captors. He grit and bared his teeth angrily, hands pressed against the glass. He wanted to break out and show them a thing or two but his thoughts were quickly vanquished by the possibility of them both drowning at such spontaneous actions. He refrained, narrowing his eyes. "Who are you? Where are you taking us?"

Fate usually had a tendency of making even the most strong-minded beings succumb to their inevitable fear. It was beyond frustrating.

Yet, she was grateful. Death was not meant to come upon her yet.

That hardly meant that she was any safer.

The chipmunk clutched her head, attempting to soothe the immense throbbing sensation that ran through it as she opened her eyes to her new surroundings. Well... she definitely wasn't on the plane anymore. These peculiar robots must have "rescued" her before the jet crashed into the ocean... and in turn been the ones to send the impending missiles toward them to begin with. Somberly, the queen doubted that they would spare the life of their poor pilot. Bidding him a quick, silent farewell, Sally shook her head, her vision was slightly unstable and blurry, but she was soon able to make out a certain blue hedgehog beside her.

Just the sight of Sonic alone made her smile, inwardly very relieved that he had not been killed-- not that she wholly believed that while on the crashing plane. As unfortunate as it was, she doubted these... beings would have let the reigning monarchs of such a prestigious kingdom perish so easily. There was always a catch. In any case, despite being a little charred from destroying those missiles, he appeared to be alright. That seemed to be the only good news.

She had mind to give him a witty remark about his "obvious" survival, yet a quick glance around refrained her from doing so. Lips curving into a frown, Sally pressed her hands against the glass barrier as well, casting their captors - the blue gizoid their presumed leader- a solemn, dubious glare as they spoke.

"...Underwater?"

That would explain the tube-like structure they were in. This glass certainly was strong enough for Sonic to break, yet she didn't want to risk the possible consequence of that action. It may as well guaranteed their death.

Indeed, the obvious questions ran fervently through her mind. Who were these people and where were they taking them? They didn't have time to be kidnapped, especially not when their kingdom was in a state of turmoil!

"Why have you captured us?" Sally inquired further, speaking assertively. "Are you in allegiance with Dr. Eggman?"

Charyb was silent for moment, and then the blue gizoid answered to the royal couple's common question with a wicked glee in it's eyes:

"We do not serve Doctor Eggman. Our master gave us orders to capture you, and make sure you would not reach Portal. As dramatic it would be, Portal has to survive without it's trademark hero this time. There will be new rulers in Portal, ones who won't suddenly leave to a secret vacation without telling anyone. Rather irresponsible of you, to leave your precious city alone, I would say."

The blue gizoid gestured for other of it's kind to leave, and with a shared nod, the other gizoids started to walk away to their duties, only a few staying as guards around the warp area where the two mobians were.

"And don't worry, we are just going to help you. You wanted a vacation? You shall have it. There are many islands on the oceans of the world, many of them remote and off the charts. We will just leave you to one of those that has been prepared for this, give you enough supplies to life comfortably, and leave you alone. Think it as a vacation, one that will last a very, very long time. And don't worry about your kingdom, it will be in a good hands. And please don't resort to anything, if you even try to do something, we will destroy this submarine, and you along with it. And this time there won't be anyone to warp you away from a certain doom."

The blue robot clearly mocked Sonic and Sally because of these cirumistances, and took great pleasure just to make clear to them, how hopeless their situation is, and how powerless they were to stop it.

"And don't even think that you are to valuable for us to kill you. If I would decide, you would both be right now drowing in the ocean. But since Master said that you two have done too much good to be simply killed, whatever that means, I have to keep you alive. As long as it does not compromise our plan. So please, try to escape, and I will happily watch how your weak little organic bodies float in the ocean before something eats them."

Sonic couldn't believe what he was hearing. His teeth gritted, very close to provin' this guy wrong. They thought they could dethrone them so easily? ...Well, maybe. Sonic was too nervous about attacking and jeopardizing Sally's safety while they were underwater. Kind of his own too given the fact water has always been his kryptonite.

What was worse, is that their annoying captor had to bring up the fact that all of this was his fault. Sonic felt devastated. It was right. If only he had listened to Sally and not nagged about going on a vacation, maybe they could have stopped all of this. How could he have been so selfish? It was impossible to keep his ears up as they drooped down. He glared at the creature before them as it insisted they not try anything funny or else.. He wouldn't. And he couldn't bare to look at Sally all the while.

Such ruthless mockery!

Sally clenched her teeth, biting her lip to suppress the infuriated scowl that threatened to emerge. New rulers of Portal? What nonsense was their captor speaking?! To tell her not to worry in such a nonchalant manner; her kingdom was under attack! Rage swelled throughout the chipmunk tumultuously, though she knew that any reckless action on her part, or Sonic's, would only upset the situation. She surely believed the robot when it said that it would kill them without hesitation, despite their master deemed them to be "good".

Unfortunately, the queen could find no solace in that knowledge.

The subtle anger that had coursed throughout her ceased as abruptly as it came, a trembling feeling of guilt overcoming her supple form instead. Clutching her arms across her chest, her azure eyes were plastered onto floor, shaking slightly. It didn't matter how enraged she became over the gizoid's words... it spoke the truth. Had she'd known how much her foolhardy decision would come back to haunt her, she would have never succumbed to the idea of a vacation. If this robot's goal was to mock and develop hopelessness within them, then it was certainly succeeding.

Ugh! She knew she should've trusted her initial intuition, she knew it!Peace had sustained over Portal for five long years, but she knew that that tranquility could have been uprooted at any moment. And yet, despite telling a few others, she still decided to leave. How selfish, how irresponsible, how stupid of her to essentially abandon her kingdom!

Sal couldn't help but think how things might have played out had they remained at the palace. Would she alongside Sonic still be trapped underwater in a tube, left helpless to some mysterious gizoids?

Sonic...

How easy would it be for to blame him for all of this. After all, it was him who brought the idea up in the first place, him who constantly pestered her about it, and him who persuaded her to leave without notifying the Council. It would be so simple just to place this whole predicament on him.

... Yet she wouldn't.

She couldn't.

It wasn't like Sonic had brainwashed her or anything. Sally had willingly, albeit reluctantly, agreed to all that he had proposed to her, fully aware of the impulsive plan they were endeavoring on. No... they were in this together, unfortunately. That didn't mean that she didn't hold any contempt against him. Eyes wavering, she managed to cast the hedgehog a pensive look before averting her gaze gradually, noting how he hadn't once returned her gaze. His stance was tense and could sense the anxiety emitting from his demeanor. The expression was rare to see from the normally cocky male, whose optimism usually shone through in any situation, no matter how dire. She didn't want to admit it, but seeing Sonic so grave to their problem further enhanced the hopelessness within her.

Was this their punishment for their foolish decision? Their ideal "vacation" was being spewed in their faces as a joke by leaving them on an remote island with supplies. Why bother giving them supplies at all? Why place them on a secluded island oppose to a jail cell or something more... traditional, she supposed. These new enemies of theirs greatly baffled the queen.

Just who were these gizoids? If they weren't in allegiance with Dr. Eggman, then who were they serving?

Charyb was thinking exactly same questions as Sally was, but was not about to say it aloud. It did enjoy this taunting, but it also was annoyed, because it was not allowed to do their prisoners anything else. When the blue gizoid had asked, Ix had answered why he did things this way, and it was logical, Charyb had to admit that, for the most part at least.

Fact was, that Sonic and Sally were more worth alive than dead, and if someone in Portal would try to oppose the new regime, he could be threatened with the royal couple. How many freedom fighters would be ready to sacrifice their rulers? They were very good hostages, even when considering possible risks.

Charyb had also asked, why an island, why not just lock them up somewhere in Twilight Cage? To this, Ix had answered that less people knew about this, the better. All gizoids here would have their memory cores wiped clean after this, expect Charyb, and this submarine would be stored away, there would be no leaks. Also, why build a high tech prison with hundreds of guards, when you could just as well use water, that was better way of imprisoning Sonic than any cell ever could be?

But, all that did not still explain why they did not just kill them. As long as Sonic and Sally were alive, they were a threat. Charyb was sure, that there was something else, some other reason why Imperator wanted the royal couple to be healthy and alive, and was not just revealing it to his minions. But as much as it tried, the blue gizoid could not figure out what reason it could be. It was most frustrating.

"We are already on our way, please be so kind and just stay there, until we are ready to warp you. And remember, it you try anything at all, that will be your end. You can't fight, you can't escape, and you can't negotiate with us, there is nothing you can do."

Suddenly a communicator in Charyb's wrist blinked, and the blue gizoid received a new message. After a moment, it actually blinked in surprise, and then said:

"Good news for you, there will be a third guest in your little summer retreat."

//In my next post some time will go on, and then Sonic and Sally will be warped, so we can get this thing going somewhere.\\

Sonic wouldn't ordinarily be feeling so low if not for thinking this was all his fault to begin with. It was hard to look confident for Sally when he bore the guilt of doing this to their people and getting themselves caught in the first place. Usually his heroic instincts were a little better than that. But it has been quite some time since he's played that part. Still, Sonic knew he had to do something, the only problem was finding out what that was.

Another person? Sonic's ears perked up, looking surprised. Who else would have been captured and left on an island? He ... sort of understood why they were.

"What do you mean? Who?"

Third... guest?

Well, "guest" was hardly the term she would use. Then again, "prisoner" or "captive" didn't have quite the same pleasant sound.

Sally had a good idea of why her and Sonic were captured, although she wasn't entirely sure that is based solely on those obvious reasons. As frustrated and complicated these gizoids have made the situation, the chipmunk reluctantly refrained from thinking too hard about the unknown. Though inquisitive by nature, even someone as detail-oriented as her would drive herself crazy doing such.

Nevertheless, she wasn't able to lure her mind away from the pressing question: who was this third person? Was it one of their own people? Another "enemy" of theirs perhaps? She furrowed her brow, a settle surprise settle in her stern eyes as she awaited the gizoid's answer.

Why bother even telling them that someone else was "joining" them?

The blue gizoid was silent for moment, and then just chuckled, before saying:

"That would spoil the surprise. You see him soon anyway."

The blue robot turned around and started walking towards the door, stepping through it, the metallic door closing after the blue robot. The guard gizoids just stood there silent holding their polearms, not answering to anything even if asked. Although guarding the royal couple was a rather silly thing to do, since Sonic and Sally could not go anywhere even if they would try to overpower the guards.

After some time, Charyb came back, and then just gestured for the two guards to take steps away from the royal couple, and then said:

"We are in range of a long distance warp. Please be so kind and stay where you are, and we can send you on your way. The third person has already been transported there, you can have a long and nice talk with him when you see him."

The transport ring started activating, a light blue light glowing out of it, as the warp transported powered up, and calculated coordinates. When the humming sound accompanied by the light had stabilized, the blue robot just happily waved it's hand to the royal couple as a mocking gesture of farewell, and then pressed a button on a console in front of it, activating the warp transport.

"Oh, and regarding to your earlier question, King Shadow sends his regards!"

And with those words, there was a bright flash, and Sonic and Sally were gone, only to appear on a tropical island in the middle of the nowhere.

Somehow he didn't think this surprise was going to be good. But who else could be trapped on the island that might threaten them? Maybe it was just someone they really liked; someone else forced into their predicament like a friend would certainly make the blue hedgehog feel even more guilty.

When the obnoxious thing left them alone, Sonic finally looked at Sally. His ears folded down and he sighed softly. "I'm sorry. I screwed up big time." There was no denying any of this. He was solely to blame when he encouraged leaving like they did so recklessly. "I promise... I'll fix this somehow. We'll get out of here, you can leave it up to me." Even if he had to spend the rest of his life making it up to her and the rest of the people, it was the very least he could do at this point.

As the guy returned to send them off, he left them with one more surprise. The last person he would think could be involved in any of this was Shadow. A name that sparked some unknown interest in him. He had wanted to find him before but now he had forgotten all reason and why.

"Wh-What?!" He gawked when they were suddenly transported, disappearing with even more questions left wandering in Sonic's mind. Could things really get any worse at this point?

She had long came to the conclusion that standing here contemplating this predicament was going to run her nothing short of insane. As much as her tactical mind disliked it, she supposed to just had to wait- well, not "supposed", she didn't have a choice- she would have to wait until they reached wherever they were taking them.

A pensive expression still present on her face, Sally listened as Sonic spoke intently. Still, she didn't reply, instead closing her eyes, folding her arms across her chest, and shaking her head slightly. While she didn't doubt the sincerity of his words, she... couldn't find any solace in that. A mere apology wasn't going to make their predicament, their kingdom's predicament, any better.

The chipmunk sighed softly as well, only saying after a few moments of silence, "No. We'll fix this somehow." There was so much more she wanted to say, though her brooding mind prohibited her elaborating more. Everything had happened so fast... she needed more time to reflect. Nevertheless, the queen felt it right to say that at least.

However, what the blue robot, after returning briefly, exclaimed certainly aroused her attention.

Cobalt eyes snapped open and wide with astonishment, she gasped, greatly bewildered. "S-Shadow?!" King Shadow? Since when was he ever interested in the throne, especially now of all times? Just what were these people up to?
