The evil little omnipotent puppy~

Edmund had a rough night...slept very little and puked quite a bit. He couldn't keep anything down but thankfully was feeling far better by morning. Half concious on the couch, not having bothered to go to far from the bathroom. Eyes blinking lazily as Zura wandered about....then there was the sound of the helicopter.

He was awake instantly and staring at the door, eyes wide and bugged out. Feeling sick once more...even letting out a small whimper of sorts. Then he watched Zura run off into the basement...cellar...he didn't know where. Giving off a whimper. "Zura! What was that helicopter doing here?!" he cried out after it had long left. Only more distressed as he accidentally fell off the couch.....ouch!

Dimitri's ears flicked, and his hair responded in kind. Was that... helicopter noises? Odd...

He would have resumed the brief little rest he was having, but then the others' exclamations caused him to reconsider the situation. Was it possible that the shadow-things had gotten a hold of a helicopter? Within the realms of possibility, but not the likeliest of events.

Then again, being the reincarnation of a god, his friend and brother other reincarnations who happen have also been close in a past life, and confronting the shadow-things in the first place - and living - were not exactly the most probable of situations either.

He walked over to Edmund, and extended a hand to help him up. "What do you think we should do? Where's Zura?" He looked around, a bit unnerved. The last time anyone had really wanted him dead was middle school, and those were the jocks he ended up beating up. This was not a good situation.

After few moments, Zura came from basement carrying a larbe bag, that seemed a very heavy. Echidna dropped it down to the floor, and then said to Dimitri and Edmund:

"Either someone likes to fly around the forest with helicpoter that has no marks or insignia of any kind, or then it was looking for us. I can't say did it see this place or not, but in any case I think we should hurry. Eat your breakfast, get shower if you need one, and then put up some clothes. If they did see us, then it will take about hour of them to find here via car, and I want to be long gone when they arrive."

After saying this, Zura took the heavy bad again, and started carrying it to the car, and out it in the trunk. Then echidna came back in, and for the surprise to both of them, sat on the couch and opened the TV.

He took his brother's hand to help stand again, rubbing his head briefly then looking to where he heard Zura return from. Blinking at the large bag. "...what's in that?" he asked quietly though nodded...he wasn't feeling all that hungry either, so it may be better to get leaving then?

Huffing softly when Zura started to meddle with the tv. "..Z..zura I don't think this is anytime to watch tv." but honestly he didn't know what Zura was up to. Maybe some freaky weird device was inside of the tv? Tracking device? Security cameras?? Giving a small shake of his head at his extreme imaginative mind. Edmund's shoulders slumping a bit...how has he gotten himself into such trouble in such a short time span?

Dimitri sniffed himself, then thought for a moment. He didn't smell that bad, aside from the scent of poison blood. Anything could slow them down. Besides, skipping a meal couldn't hurt. He worried for his brother's low blood sugar, but cast the thought aside. Death was more important than a rumbly tummy. He took everything into consideration first before responding.

"We can leave as soon as you finish with your needs," he dictated solemnly. "I know a place where we can go, for shelter, and hiding, as well as research. They will not be able to find us there. I can tell you the coordinates as soon as we figure out how to leave without being seen."

Zura watched the television, where news were just being started. Echidna listened them through, and then rose up saying:
"Well, not a single sentence about last night, it seems that either we were lucky at hospital, or then someone just does not want to get too much attention in his attempt to kill us."

Echidna turned back at Dimitri, and then smiled in response to his last remark.

"Don't worry. There is another road out of here. It is little rough and takes more time to get into the city, but it can't be seen from the air. We can just drive it. I go and check the car, I would advice you two to eat something before we leave."

After saying this, Zura opened the door and walked to the car, and started testing it had not started to malfunction, as result of yesterday's chase.

Edmund on this...rare occasion didn't want to eat, thinking it would be better to get going and leaving quickly. So that they weren't caught again by whatever was chasing them. Motioning for Zura to hurry it up. "..I..I think we should just...leave now...so we can get..going re..really really quickly?" he pouted...the poor echidna was horrified by all of these events. Trembling softly and pouting.

"...Please can we just get out of here? Before they get here??" he asked, eyes widened from the terror of the situation. He wanted to go to this place his brother was speaking off right now....

Dimitri was already moving, dragging Edmund by the collar. "Eat later," he reiterated. He did grab a low-fat energy bar to take with him, for giving to the sugar deprived Eddy later. They had to keep moving. This was a pure necessity. They could eat at the safe house.

"Is the car good??" He asked Zura. He was worried about the time aspect. "I feel safer the more distance we put between us and this place..." He leaned on the hood, feeling wound up and distressed.

"We will head out to our friends in the records," He murmured to the other Order member. "The only real safe house, if one is looking for safe houses..." He then straightened. "I'm sorry for putting you through this, Edmund... These must have been a stressful and strange few days..."

"Car is good, and I am rather sure, that I can drive us there faster than anyone can track us."

Zura ignored Dimitri's and Edmund's meaningful moment, and just hopped in the car, waited at them to come in too, and then started driving away from the garage. After this, echidna gave one last gaze towards his nice little summer house, and then started driving away, turning to almost invisible dirt road among the trees.

"I just hope, you know what you are doing, Dimitri. I can guess someone will get hurt in all this, and since those dark echidnas do not feel pain, I have bad feeling it will be us, sooner or later."

Edmund really said nothing else, curling up in the back seat of the car so Zura and Dimitri can talk about...stuff...Stuff he didn't understand or didn't really want to understand. Everything was just crazy beyond anything. Oh how he wished he could have a churro right about now. It would make him less tense...food tended to do that for him.

Breathing out an uneasy sigh, back in the car anyway..hopefully Zura didn't drive..too...too fast. If they did start to go a little bit fast they'll know it soon enough....with a vomiting Edmund. That is if Zura chose to drive fast on these dirt roads.

"Sooo... we need to make an indirect route back to Echidnopolis," he murmured. "But as quickly as possible..." He continued relaying instructions to the driver.

A few looks assured him of Edmund's utter terror of the car, but he could not fathom why... perhaps he was so worried last night that his fear of losing brother transfered to fear of car?? That was a possibility.

He passed him the protein bar after a good solid 20 minutes of driving, knowing his brother. Hoping that would help.

"I hope not," he said softly. "I don't want anyone killed on my account... but I can't fight right now..." That was all he could say to Zura's bleak comment. "We just must trust the Order and the will of... well... my will..." Bitterly ironic.

(skipping ahead to the hiding place)
The archival and record section of the Order was kept in a large, unassuming building, sporting the word 'Library' on it. The front had a reception desk with a charming and bored secretary who would never answer the phone, and a few stacks and shelves of childrens books and magazines. This was necessary to keep the place running without suspicions. Behind a trick shelf was the main library of the Order, partially above ground, but mostly underground. Access was most difficult.

The librarians and archivalists lived on site, and kept current, meticulous records of everything. In addition to Anterooms and the Hub, a growing museum, the quarters, and other necessary rooms and sub-buildings were connected by massive underground tunnels, manned by armed guards. It was completely safe, and Edmund would probably have the time of his life looking through all the records, or just the enormity and complexity of the subterranean architecture, most of which, admittedly, had been around since the Floating Island had left terra firma.

For now, Dimitri just wanted a place to hide out without people trying to kill him.

(OOC: Sorry for the imbedded art, but I figured that the big pictures were really unnecessary for stretching the screen. ^^)

Edmund had gradually calmed over the car ride to this...place, he didn't know what it was really. It seemed innocent enough. He trotted along next to his brother, glancing around with mild interest...however a grin spread across his face when they were lead into the main library. Eyes brightening at all of the books...information. And he definitely wondered just what was in those books.

"..this is...amazing." he spoked out in quiet awe, giving off a yelp as he tripped over his own two feet. Landing in a nice faceplant....groaning weakly as he pushed himself up, looking to Zura and Dimitri sheepishly.

OOC: sorry for being dead, been very busy.

Zura did not really look at majestic architecture very much, since he had seen it already for many times. Echidna was just worried about that they had not been followed here, because that would be catasthrope. Well, at least this place had little better defences. But Order's greatest advantage was the fact that no one knew about it, and that might be changing soon. Zura looked at Dimitri, and then asked:

"Well, what will we do next? We can't hide forever."

He helped his brother up with a small smile. "Yeah, it is something. Here, ask one of them to take you to the cafeteria. They'll fill you in on everything while you're there, if you have any questions that we couldn't answer definitively."

He brightened up. "And tomorrow, you can go and do that little reconnaisance mission and steal a scroll and a book for me, okay? You can do it little brother!" He grinned, trying to pass off his anxiety easily.

He then turned to Zura. "We only need to hide for a few more days... and then you won't have to worry about hiding anymore..." He showed a bicep. "Not when you'll have some real fire power."

Edmund sputtered and blinked, staring at his brother for a second. "W..wait a second! Dimitri! I can't steal anything!" he would whine in complete terror. "I can't steal anything Dimitri....." whimpering heavily, eyes wide...puppy eyes almost.

What was Dimitri thinking?? "...I can't do iiiiit!" pouting and recoiled to go and find something to do...possibly hide from his brother for the next few days. He can't steal anything...he was too much of a darn scaredy cat to do such a thing.

Dimitri caught him by the arm. "You are the Ooooonly one who can do this, Eddy. Do it for me." He gave the Pout, which Edmund could not refuse.

"Pleeeeeeease?" He folded his hands together in a saintly manner. "It could be veeeery important, and I would have a special sugar treat for you..."

Zura just looked at two brothers, and sighed.

"Edmund, could you please do this for Dimitri? It might help us stop further attacks, and I doubt you either want to run for the rest of your life? It is not like that someone in the museum even notices that one of their hundreds of books and scrolls will disappear for day or two."

Dark echidna was getting headache from all this. Dealing with both brothers at the same time was little difficult on long term, since they were so different. Those two were like small kids sometimes, but there was part of their charm. But Zura hoped too, that Edmund would just get some backbone, and do what they asked of him.

Edmund was highly distressed by the thought of this and shuddered, his fists clenching at his sides. Letting his head fall and merely nodded. His gaze fixated to the ground. How was he going to do this? It was...against the law to steal...and from the museum...those were artifacts! Thousands of years old no doubt! If he wrecked it...then...a piece of their history was gone. All because his brother asked of him!

Taking in a shaky breath as he turned away from them. "...th...then what is it I have to steal...?" he asked weakly, feeling sick again.

Dimitri patted his head sympathetically. "Hey, hey, you'll be alright!!!" He smiled shakily. "Besides, according to the gods, it either belongs to me, or they're loaning it to me, so it's okay."

That sounded insane, but it didn't quite matter. "Both of them will be in the gods section of the museum. One is that Book of Prophecies thing. The big book chained on the stand, belonging to the the monks from the original Order, back when he was still popular. Y'know, the one with the pretty pictures. I doubt it actually has any prophecies, but that is the title.

"The other one will be the Prophecies of Asura-Ista, or something along those lines. It will be a scroll, all rolled up, about a foot by three inch diameter, and it will likely be on the wall, next to the Prophecy portion."

He cracked his knuckles. "They can probably give you all sorts of ways of getting in, but you know those skylights pretty well, since they're your design. You could do a snatch and run at about 2 in the morning. You'ld be successful, too, if the god's will means anything."

He frowned thoughtfully. "Although, if we're working on faith, then you could walk in in the middle of the day, pull it off the wall, and walk away with it tucked under your arm in broad daylight without getting caught..." His eyes lit up at the idea.

Flinching and looked to Dimitri with complete terror. "..I..I can't just steal those!...There are...cameras...guards!....Among other things! I..I can't do that of all things Dimitri!!" crying out. Surely Zura could even see that this...this is asking way to much of him.

His pupils had shrunk at the idea of stealing the book of prophecies...and the prophecies of Asura-Ista. He...he had to be joking! This...all of this was just one big joke on him! On the little retarded Edmund! Whinning as he collapsed then...passing out in front of the two. The poor echidna was stressed out.

When Edmund fainted, Zura was already behind him, and stopped him from falling to the floor.

"You might get this done better if you just go and take it yourself. Edmund is not part of this mythological mess in any way, and as such, perhaps little unfit to do these things. I run some errands, you can talk to him when he wakes up."

Zura pushed unconscious Edmund to Dimitri, and then started walking away. There was something he wanted to check, something that had been bothering Zura for some time.

(OOC: Oooh, suspense! Remember, Dimitri can't be visible until that day, or he might get killed.)

He raised an eyebrow, and carefully got down to pick his brother up, uncaring of whether it pulled at his stitches or not. He could always get them re-done. Brother would need some rest in the infirmary. Somehow, he would convince him.

What now? His stomach rumbled at him in response to the question, and he looked surprised. Huh... well, he did have to eat at some point. He guessed he would go to the cafeteria.

The 'Librarians' here wouldn't be bothered if he wasn't always wearing his cloak and hood, knowing that he was this 'Icon', but he wished he could blend in with them, and stop all the stares. It was easier with the Nara and Nazo.

He wondered if they would make his brother an honorary or full member, though had a hard time seeing little Edmund worshipping him. That would be a riot... but not far from the truth... He laughed into his meat-bun, and the others though he was talking with the invisible and inaudible gods, and crossed themselves fervently for the miracle.

//And sorry again fro being dead for week or two, been really busy, graduated and all such little things that eat little time away.^^

Zura found an empty room, and closed the door behind him. Then echidna started looking at his hands. Zura had not shown it in any way, but he had seen some very weird hallunications for few days. It vwas either that his hands were covered in blood, or then some strange images in the back of his mind, that did not make much sense. They were like memories, but not memories that he had even experienced. Memories, that where there, even though they were someone else's. Zura with all this mystical mess because of his debt to the Dimitri and Edmund, even though he knew, that he had some other part in all this too. If he could just get rid of this strange sensation, that he was about to die very soon, in a very gruesome and bloody way. And that he had already once.

Outside, some grey echidnas were looking at the building where three echidnas had left. They could sense the power coming from it, and were not sure should they attack or not. After moment of disuccsion, they decided to just wait nearby until others would get here. This attack would have to be overpowering, but clock was ticking. Every hour took them closer to the moment when god wold awake, and they would had failed. And their master had been a very clear what he would do to them and with what he would do it to them, in case they failed in this task.

Dimitri finished his pudding cup, and left quickly, starting to get very irritated with the stares. He found his backpack with Edmund's things, in a cubby, and quickly resumed his Order get-up, so that he could once again be anonymous Nara.

After which, he immediately went to the infirmary to check on his unconscious twin. The nurses were all swarmed around him, amazed at the sight of an attractive outsider, who had fallen asleep or unconscious in the hallway. There were at least three nurses fighting to take his heart rate, and another two who were scribbling notes. He couldn't tell if his brother was continuing to fake, for the attention, or, equally likely, just oblivious to the whole thing.

He sat near the bed and sighed. Life really was falling apart. Brother unconscious, in with the Order, he and Zura being constantly harrassed by those strange ghoulish things that were not Echidna, odd nightmares and dreams... He wasn't even officially dead to the world, and life had been pretty much botched.

He wanted to appologise to Brother, once he woke up. He would... find some way of sneaking out, and hiding himself from the strange not-living, faceless things, and then stealing the two manuscripts from the museums, and making his way back without being killed or captured. So then Eddy could feel safer in his hospital bed with the attractive male nurses and Zura. Dimitri couldn't tell whether he was being sarcastic or not.

His ears suddenly flicked forward, like he was afraid or spooked. Was something there? Was someone coming? Why did he feel this dread? There was something dreadful going to happen, and he didn't know how, or when, or even why he was having these impressions and forebodings. He touched a finger to his little shard in a silent prayer to every goddess and god he could remember, just to come out of this alive, if it was as bad as what he was thinking.
