Section 1: Global Rules
These rules ALWAYS apply unless stated otherwise.
Do not spam. We consider spam to be unsolicited advertising; posting of irrelevant information. There is an off-topic section and forum games to suit your need to post.
Do not advertise outside of your signature or the Website Promotion forum. The types of sites you are allowed to advertise are: Personal blogs, document sites (Like deviantart or fanfiction.net), photo-sharing accounts (Photobucket), social mediums, (Facebook, livestream, twitter, etc) games, forums on topics different than MNE. The types of sites you are NOT ALLOWED to advertise are: competitor sites, (Sites of similar topic) malicious software sites, file-sharing, or p2p (peer-to-peer) systems. Personal attacks against another user or group, or group of individuals , or a group of people related via ethnic backgrounds. Flaming: Like the above rule, we have a zero tolerance for flaming, which is essentially what the above rules, however flame-baiting, a variant of flaming (the use of various enticements to get someone to flame you; to get them in trouble) is also unallowed. Please only use up to 3 small images in your signature, or one large one. Instead of imposing size limitations on images, we merely ask that you keep your signature reasonably sized. It's up to staff's discretion to remove any over-large signature. Our staff members are busy people with lives of their own. Please listen to any reasonable instruction a staff member gives you, as they don't have the time to argue with you. If you feel a staff member has given you a unreasonable request, or a request that violates these rules, please contact an administrator. Staff (Moderators AND Administrators) and members alike are both under a “3 Strike” system. Essentially, if you perform any action that seriously violates these rules you will be given a strike. After three strikes you're out and will be banned for a period of time befitting your crime. Should you violate these rules enough you will be permanently banned; this includes your IP address.
Section 2: PM (Personal Messenger) Rules
The use of the personal messenger system is a privilege not a right, misuse of the system will result in your removal of it's use. The following could result in your loss:
PM advertising; as stated earlier advertising anywhere outside of your signature or the website promotion forum will result in a potential ban. PM attacks: using the PM system to attack another member, a group, or any combination thereof. Spam: Sending spammy messages to members.
If anyone has sent you a message that you are not comfortable with you can always report it by clicking on “REPORT MESSAGE” once reported staff with the required permissions will be able to view your message and any other necessary details and will be able to take appropriate action.
Section 3: Report System Rules
The report system is a tool to help keep the site clear of clutter, malicious threads, or messages. As such only use it when necessary. Constantly reporting threads that don't need it will result in action taken against your account. Please note: Once a thread is report, all moderators and admins with permissions in the section that you reported the thread in will be notified. Keep in mind that said staff members will be able to view your reason for reporting it. As such do not use the report system to report a personal issue, please PM a staff member.
Reporting 'good' threads. A thread is 'good' if it isn't a spam thread, advertisement thread, attack thread etc. Constant reporting: Reported threads constantly, when unnecessary is NOT COOL, don't do it. Repeatedly Pming a staff member about a thread that has already been reported (And that you know is already reported) will result in action against your account.
Please follow these rules but more importantly try to have fun! Now, get out there and make some awesome discussions.
In addition we ask that all members post a intro after joining so that the community can get to know you. We welcome you to Midnight Express and we look forward to insights you are able to bring to our community.
