Anyone who's played any of these, let it be known here.
[Golden Sun-2001;Golden Sun:The Lost Age-2003;Golden Sun:Dark Dawn-2010]
Years ago,I jumped into the Golden Sun series after watching a friend play The Lost Age(I've never been able to find a copy of the first one),and I've been a fan ever since.
The music is second to none;plotline/storyline is epic;...I'll stop right now, else I'll get carried away.
Then, after 7 years of waiting(6 years of wondering if there was even going to be another),Dark Dawn is finally released.
I bought it last week, and again,it was great. The music is fantastic(especially the music playing during the opening intro),the storyline is epic, the characters are......okay I'll stop now.

What are your thoughts on the individual games and/or the series as a whole?

Ayane, the storyline on Golden Sun is purely epic,no matter what anyone says. It's use of the Greek belief in Alchemy is....well,it's cool. The use of Greek gods and deities really gives it a in-the-past feel. The game's graphics are really good as well, especially the epic summons, heck, part of the reason the game is so good is because of the awesome summons. The characters are also great, even though they can get a bit long-winded.But one of the biggest draws for me,and many others,is its epic music;the music on Golden Sun(all three) is second to none in the video game world. It combination of classical symphonic music is truly.....I'm at a loss:when you combine classical-based music and video games, two of my favorite things, like they've done,it's just epic.

Hey,BLP,you're a fellow Golden Sun fan?Heck yeah!Have you played the new one yet?

I think Dark Dawn was beyond great--awesome befits it--no matter what others say.I know a lot of the time, whether it's movies or games, people tend to say "You can't beat the orignal.",yet with this,I believe Camelot at least tied the first two in terms of story and gameplay.Actually, unlike some,I would've liked a bit more depth in regards to the Tsuparang's background,Dark Adepts, and the whereabouts of the rest of "The Warriors of Vale" [especially Felix;however,Felix and the Tsuparang may be the focus,or side-focus of a forth installment--if there is one. That huge airship is still on the loose along with it's commander "The High Empyror, along with Alex;and the mystery surrounding Amiti's father(won't reveal anything here).]

Dullahan's insane, just like before.Heh,heh,my first file's team's levels are all 99;I also went crazy and, over two weekends, managed to gather all the weapons that are dropped by the various monsters. XD

Ha, i did like the fact that Dark Dawn tied itself well to the old games, and giving a new game a great jumping point, however the ending felt very VERY rushed too me.

-I never really saw a need for some of the characters in the game, of your 8 party members, only 4 of them were truly essential to moving the game along. The first 3 characters you got, and then Sveta and that is mostly because she ties in Velochek. Also, i never felt like i had time to get to know my new characters. Amiti was fine, but Sveta, Eoleo, and Himi were not around nearly long enough for me to get to enjoy them (in the main story). In the first 2 games, you had met and usually became attached to your full party long before you even hit the halfway point (assuming you played them in order). This game, you are pretty much at the side quest point as you pick up your last 2 characters.

-Also, the puzzles always struck me as really odd, they just didn't seem hard enough. Especially the ones in the cloud passage, that was so annoying, just 16 or so, small puzzles that i had to finish. I guess i just didn't feel much of a challenge to it.

These points aside, I still LOVED this game. Nostalgia hit me so damn hard, that i just could not put this game down while I played. I am very very much looking forward to the 4th installment of this series.
