Nintendo has less money that Microsoft and Sony. Developing costs are higher. They are going to run a less powered console. They are going to have less ports. They are in the buiness to turn a profit, while Microsoft and Sony can bleed money. So question is, will people buy their next console? Both the companies I mentioned are very rich, and will probably send them to lose quite a bit. They also have not evolved as a company. Why not do some shotters, and other genres. Instead we get mario and zedla, and people were not buying the games on the Wii system. |

Actually, I believe with the introduction of more sports titles and things like the board, the Wii has a long life ahead f it. If you read a lot of articles in different magazines and newspapers it is the highest selling system. The Wii has reached every facet of society including the baby boomers. I think the boomers will keep the sports and entertainment titles going and mario, zelda, etc. will keep the long time fans buying. |

The fact that the wii was sold out everywhere unless you were lucky for almost 2 years (if im not mistaken, it may be 1) says otherwise |

It's funny because the Wii AND Gamecube were the top sellers of their generation. They're going to still live. People love their games, almost all of their games are kid friendly, it has the most toddler/young age games. Nintendo has a lot of money to put towards development, idk why you're saying they don't. |

I just don't see how they will win maybe if they do a next-generation console, and if sony and Microsoft do not take all the developers away. Nintendo is going to have to do a neat controller because now sony and microsft both have natal, and other controllers. They are even copying nintendo's strategy of a blue ocean when they single handidly created the first console to come with such a controller. I am seeing maybe that they are under a lot of pressure. Developing isn't cheap, some games need to sell 500,000 copies just to turn a profit. Back when nintendo did a 2nd market on the snes, there was an explosion of games never before seen. We will never come back in a time when companies could makes games, and didnt have to declare bankrupty like Midway, and Acclaim did. Poor revenue makes games very expensive. The big companies however can bleed more money like Capcom and Sega. |

You don't get it. Nintendo IS the top company in gaming right now because of it's versatility and family compatibility. |

Snes imo was the golden era since there were so many companies working in the console buisness. Even small companies thrive. 3d graphics development is much more expensive than 2d. |

I think Mario and some of the older characters like Link will be great for the long time fans. However, I think what will keep the new fans coming is the interactivity of the wii and the sports based and action based games that are aligned with it. |

Nintendo's user market is different than Sony and Microsoft, so that plays a huge roll in Nintendo's success. Nintendo markets to families, younger kids, and casual gamers where as Sony and Microsoft are competing with eachother over teenagers, adults, and more of the hardcore gamer type. Plus, Nintendo has a lot of classics like Mario, Zelda, etc, that attract the older audience of Sony/Microsoft because those games are nostalgic for them. |

nintendo made bank off the DS and all the wii sports games. they are fine, if not better than sony if anyone should be worried, it should be sony. thats why they had to decrease the price of ps3, and it still costs way more to make one. |

It is fact, everyone knows the snes period was the golden age of nintendo. It was so cheap to develop. Sony and Microsoft have so much money, and nintendo decides to run systems with lower techs hoping to grab a piece of the pie. If they released an expensive console games would be 60 dollars. I have grabbed quotes from Miyamoto and I know that expenses plays an important part of nintendo. They dont believe in HD with the wii for the reason that they wanted to save money. Nintendo makes a profit off consoles since it is lower tech. Then sony screwed up the prices with ps3. Take a look at Microsoft, which has the richest ceo in the world. And if things didnt look dimmer it seems that money means how many quality games they develop. With one of the largest development 1st party teams in the world it seems they havnt made that many quality games this generation. Mario galaxy might be the exception and the staple zelda game of course. |

1. Bill gates has retired from the day to day procedures of Microsoft and has appointed another person to fulfill his role as CEO 2. Hes only rich because during the 80s and 90s they developed a semi-monopoly on the market of operating systems hence the lawsuits they faced considering monolopys are illegal, not because of the xbox 3. The wii made MUCH MORE money than the xbox 360 or the PS3 so i dont know why you continue to say that nintendo doesnt have money |

I guess nintendo is filthy rich since it has a back catalogue. Anyways the wii is on decline, and the games on the schedule are becoming less. Hopefully the next mario fills the gap. |
