We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank all Orlando Magic fans who contributed to our little community on the web over the years. This message board started out as a college project back in 2004, and back then I never could have imagined that it would last as long as it did.
However, all good things come to an end. I have moved on to other projects in life, and most of our members here have followed suit. I will leave this message board online as a visual archive into the thoughts and ideas of a group of Magic fanatics that lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance.

I don't know where to begin with this season, quite the disappointment indeed. We entered the year with hopes that this squad can make another run to the Eastern Conference Finals and hopefully get back to the NBA Finals. It became clear quick that Rashard wasn't the same player and that Vince just was a shell of his former self (was never high on him even in his prime) and that this team just didn't have the same look as the team that marched to the Finals in 08-09. The trade excited me and I hoped it would work, although I wasn't a big fan of the Arenas deal. It seemed to work well early on, after losing a few straight we went on a 9 game winning streak (I think) but after that it was just a lot of inconsistency and bad shooting. That carried over to the playoffs. Now it's time to try and blow this thing up around Dwight, and like you said NYC, the rumors of Dwight leaving will begin. This franchise can't trade him. They have to just try to start rebuilding this thing around him and maybe Otis can pull some Magic out of his a**, cause he will need to. Chris PauL? I don't think PG is a big issue, which is why I didn't like the Arenas trade, but we all can agree Jameer is just too damn inconsistent and he's a shooting guard in a point guards body. Maybe a change there is needed. Turk? I guess we're stuck with him. J-Rich? Move him. Arenas? Move him if you can but I don't know how. Bass and Anderson? I like them, Anderson fits the Magic style of play but honestly I'd like an upgrade at PF and then keep one of them to come off the bench. I just don't know how we do all this though. The Bull and Heat are in position to dominate the East for years to come and the Knicks might be the next to move up. The Hawks are good, but not on that level. Not sure how we let them beat us. Just poor shooting and poor defense. No help for Dwight except in that Game 5 win. That really had my hopes high, I thought we'd come out and get this thing back to Orlando for Game 7. Very disappointing. |

Dwight keeps saying all the right things about how this is his city. How hes gonna get better and lead this city to a championship. I hope he does stay now. After saying all those things, if he does leave, he is gonna be hated more than Shaq & Tmac combined!!! |
