We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. It took long enough, but David Stern's office finally brought down the hammer Saturday on Magic forward Matt Barnes for chucking the basketball into the stands following the final buzzer of Orlando's heartbreaking 99-98 defeat at Amway Arena to the Miami Heat that occurred Wednesday evening. He's been fined $20,000 just hours before the Magic take on the Bucks in Milwaukee at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Knowing that he wears his emotions on his sleeve, Barnes was obviously upset in letting Heat forward Michael Beasley fly in past him and get the game-winning dunk (offensive goaltending or not). In sixteen games with his new team, Barnes is averaging 6.9 ppg and 5.9 rpg in about 24 minutes of action per game. The Magic have rebounded well since that Miami defeat as they now sit at 12-4 which is tops in the Southeast and Eastern Conference. They face a surprising 8-6 Bucks team that is coming off their first blowout loss on the young season, falling 108-90 in Oklahoma City. Michael Redd has yet to heat up, and look for Brandon Jennings (frontrunner for Rookie of the Year) to attack those old legs of Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson.
