We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Who needs Jameer Nelson when you have Anthony 'Old Man River' Johnson confusing and abusing everyone on the court in the 2nd half. Hawks Coach MIke Woodson had no clue what to do for the scorching 35-year-old veteran. Even TNT commentator Dick Stockton called Al Horford 'Tito' during one of several of Johnson's drives to the hole. Then again, Stockton did call Dwight Howard 'Josh' about half a dozen times on the night, and Vince Carter 'Anthony'. Ernie Johnson summed up the 93-76 Magic win best when he said late in the fourth quarter "and Orlando hasn't missed a shot in 20 minutes." Streaky shooting with the theme.
Things were looking bad for the Magic, down 39-51 at halftime and coming off that heartbreaking loss at Amway Arena to the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Mike Woodson might regret refusing to feed his Hawks squad turkey before the game as they had nothing left in the 2nd half. It's amazing how the Magic charged back with extra effort and a little bit more defense. Stan Van Gundy clearly pushed the team's correct buttons at the break, holding Atlanta to just 25 second half points. You saw Dwight asserting himself and Vince Carter trying to muscle opponents. 'Superman' finished with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 blocks as the beast of the Eastern Conference has finally awoken. Vince almost managed a double-double with 21 points and 9 boards. AJ and JJ Redick were phenomenal bench contributors. 'Dad' as the team refers to AJ scored 15 of his 17 points in the final twelve minutes of the contest. 'Redickulous' added a very solid 9 points. Rashard Lewis is still trying to get his shooting form back, but tallied a respectful 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The dagger came at about the 1:30 mark when Vince Carter put Orlando up 90-73 on a crushing 3-pointer. Mike Woodson's team fell off their hot shooting as 4 days off didn't come in handy when the final buzzer sounded. After 24 minutes, Atlanta had a 15% field goal shooting advantage, and 32% on 3-pointers. Part of that was amazing shooting, but Orlando needed to charge out of the locker room (which they did) and gave the Hawks a dose of reality. Magic fans are definitely thankful for a statement comeback on this fantastic Thanksgiving night. At 12-4, Orlando now retakes the Eastern Conference and Southeast Division lead over the 11-4 Atlanta Hawks. Orlando starts another back-to-back on Saturday in Milwaukee while Atlanta looks to recover in Philadelphia on Friday.

I'm kind of concerned about Bass. There are some nights when I feel that he should be getting Anderson's minutes just to make sure that he's ready when we might really need him. I think Bass could give the Bucks fits on Saturday.

Yeah no kidding about Barnes. He usually makes me want to throw up, but he did what he's supposed to do tonight.

I've been tough on Barnes, I gotta give him credit for his performance last night. Good stuff.

damn..just about the worst we can play in the first half to the best play I have seen in the second. awesome turnaround..especially on a back to back.
i really want to see bass get into a few games..i for sure thought he would be our starting 4, but it isn't even looking like that will ever be an option. hopefully stan gets him tomorrow night.

I honestly though Rashard would move back to the 3 with the exit of Hedo and Bass would start at the 4. Not only is Bass not starting but at this point it appears he is going to see a ton of DNP's this year. I'm a little shocked by this.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. Just seems like we'd solve our toughness/rebounding problems of last year w/bass in at the 4.
