I know I'm not known to be an insider.. but i have a friend who knows some people high up in the Magic organization, and supposedly AI to Orlando is pretty much a done deal. He said in less than three days, it will be made official. I think my length on this board will let you know I'm not making crap up just to do it.. but seeing as I have no hard evidence at all, this could very well be a rumor... But that's what my information says so I thought I would share with you guys..

As far as I'm concerned, if it's true, I'm not a big fan. BUT I back Otis, he knows what he's doing.

I had been contemplating Iverson ever since Nelson went down.

Honestly, I'm not sure if it would be a good move or not (assuming the rumor were actually true). If the Magic offer him a one-year deal and have the opportunity to release him at the first hint of trouble, I'd say why not give it a shot...

I really don't like the idea. We have enough guys to take shots as it is. He's a chemistry killer also. We have enough talent to go around and we played well with J-Will at the point. Plus Nelson isn't going to be gone that long, about a month.

I hope this rumor is false. I say lets run with what we got. Lets wait and see what happens with Jameer. If anything, we can make a move by the trade deadline in februry, not before.

I got mixed feelings about this move.
I just can't see how he wud fit into the rotation once Jameer comes back. Too many chiefs not enuff indians.
We really don't need him but hey if he comes I won't be mad.

Even though I'm leaning towards no as well, this makes it a bit more interesting:

Quote:

"There is absolutely no doubt that he still wants to play," Gary Moore, Iverson's personal manager, told Yahoo! Sports.

"There should be no doubt in anyone's mind. He will be working out every day until he hears from someone."

Moore added that Iverson would agree to come off the bench if he signs with a contending team.

"It doesn't have to be a starting role if it's the right situation, right circumstances," Moore said.

If we were to sign a PG, I think it'd be better to go after a defensive-minded one.

Assuming there is one available, though...

New update:

Looks like the Knicks will be signing AI.

Quote:

Allen Iverson has told associates he is prepared to come to the New York Knicks.

"We wouldn't be considering it if we thought we were functioning well and we're not," Walsh said of the Knicks, who went into last night's game against the Pacers with a 1-9 record. "And I want to make sure if we do something like this it's the right thing to do."

Walsh said if the Knicks do offer Iverson a contract it will likely be for the $1.4 million veteran's minimum.

I thought that one of the big reasons he wanted to leave Memphis was because he wanted to play for a winning team. So he chooses the Knicks?

Good, too much risk and not enough reward in my mind. If Nelson was out for the year, I'd consider.

I guess what mattered first and foremost was the opportunity to start.

Maybe he either wanted to start on a crap team, or come off the bench for a contending team.

With Memphis, he got neither wish...

Knicks can have him and we can have Marbury or even Stackhouse.
