atleast JJ is telling the team what we've seen the entire season. flat out garbage a** defense. I didnt expect us to win but our defense got exposed big time today.

listening to the postgame interviews SVG is hitting it on the head again. Dwight seems to stilll want to make excuses. Vince is kind of getting the problem but doesn't really want to admit it.

I agree with SVG. I also think that Jameer is not playing the way he was playing last year before getting hurt. He needs to get back to that level, if the Magic wants to be succesful in the post season. Defense starts with the point guard pressuring the opossing PG. He is just very laid back, and the team takes on his personality. I think Rafer is the guy that we miss the most. It is great to have Lewis back next week; but he is not a great defender. He knows the system so it will help. Like SVG said, our problem is D. It is early in the season, so Dwight and everyone needs to get on it, I don't think we will play this bad again. Hopefully this is a starting point for these guys to realize they got to wake up and get their act together.

I don't think were that far from being a great team. The new pieces on the team still need time to gel, as we haven't even had all our guys on the floor together at once.

Agreed. And also, five of our wins so far have been by 9-points or more.

It's early in the season, and we're still trying to get everybody on the same page. This team should be much better in a month or so (barring major injuries).

I don't agree with people saying it is just early in the season, the team needs to gel, Rashard and Anderson are missing, this is no excuse for not trying hard enough, Dwight, Jameer, are not really playing D, I liked Rafer better at least he tried defending his guy, and Dwight does not seem to be interested in Blocking shots or being the rebounder he used to be, he also does not look like he's having fun anymore, I know he takes a big pounding every night, but that should be an excuse for not playing hard!

Players need to own up to it and start playing defense otherwise like SVG said we will not compete with the Elite including Miami which is playing at a higher level than the Magic.

All this tinkering with the lineup appears to be taking its toll right now, the only good thing about this is that it is happening early in the season and it can be corrected.

actually all our defensive issues are tied with getting rid of one player. if you listened to that song they made for the finals it would come as no surprise why our defense sucks right now

Well thats a little different from what were saying. What your saying is correct that we need to improve on defense but that goes without saying, no matter who is on the court for our team. But what were saying is that we cant expect to be firing on all cylinders yet because we have alot of new players and we STILL havent had everyone on the court together due to injuries, suspensions, etc.

But again, I don't think there is a problem with any of the new players, per se. Out on the court it looks more like the guys are just not on the same page 100% yet and they might be thinking about Rashard coming back is just right around the corner. Either way, we have started off well, despite a couple bad games, but were not far from the top.
