Carter sprained his left ankle in the second quarter when he stepped on the foot of Nets point guard Devin Harris

X-rays were negative and Carter said "hopefully" he can play Sunday against the Raptors depending on the swelling.

"I'm 25 years old. I bounce back," joked the 32-year-old, who received a warm ovation when he was introduced. "We won. It's never disappointing; that's all that matters. I've played a couple of games here. It was great to come in and feel the appreciation."

Looks like the injury isn't serious. Even if he misses a few games, it's not bad at all considering how painful it looked when he initially went down.

I guess he's a game time decision as of this posting.

Good news. We got enough weapons in our arsenal to beat the Raptors if he is not clear to play. Go Magic!

Before the Magic’s shoot-around, Vince Carter crept close to the New Jersey Nets’ film room and pulled a prank on his old coach.

“It was funny. We were just starting watching film and this hand came across my neck through the window,” Nets Coach Lawrence Frank said. “It was like a pterodactyl.”

A few hours later, Carter had to smile through a grimace.

He was nursing a sprained left ankle after injuring himself in the second quarter.

Carter was having a terrific game in his return to New Jersey, hitting shots, dunking and scoring 13 first-period points.

X-rays on Carter's ankle were negative. He said he hopes he can play Sunday when the Magic face the team he began his career with --- the Toronto Raptors.

Carter's mother, Michelle, was in attendance and said her son had a "mild sprain."

I am glad that Carter is recovering on this minor sprain and he has shown the progress that the Magic asked of him. Maybe this suspension isn't the negative limelight after all. We are winning games without him and pretty soon he'll be ready to be on our squad once again!
