That's a hell of a deal for Turkoglu. Good for him!

Well Detroit is out of the running after agreeing to Ben Gordon and Charlie V and the latest on the Raptors Real GM is that they have pulled out of that offer (being reported by the same guy who announced the deal to begin with). So I guess Portland really is the only option now. I wonder how this will all work out now. If they are basically bidding against themselves, I wonder if they keep their same offer.

Wow, so if Portland is the only suitor they are pretty much just bidding against themselves unless OKC or Sac gets involved, they have the cap room but are the willing to spend it and would Turk be willing to play for a rebuilding team.

If Turkoglu wants to just have money, then that's stupid. Portland isn't exciting a contending team quite yet especially with teams like LA & San Antonio really improving in the West.

It does appear that it's either Portland or Orlando. He'll have to choose between a few extra million or his best chance to win right now. Portland could be the 2nd best team in the West with him there, but Orlando is the best team in the NBA with him here. It will be interesting.

One thing is for sure, if he signs somewhere else, then his top priority is money and we're better off without him. If someone would rather spend the twilight of their career on a bad to mediocre team, then it will say a lot about him. I still think it's either us or the Blazers and it's looking about 75/25 them right now.

He's probably getting $12 million per year from Toronto...

Realgm is reporting that Portland and Toronto are both still in the running for Hedo and Ariza.

Hedo Turkoglu and the Portland Trail Blazers reportedly have an agreement, reports ESPN

That's from insidehoops.com on twitter, I'll see what more info I can find. Now all the more important to make Sheed happen and complete this team.

Hedo Turkoglu has reached an agreement in principle to become a Portland Trail Blazer, according to sources.

Although a verbal commitment may be announced sooner, the terms of the contract cannot be finalized until Wednesday, after the NBA informs teams what next year's salary cap will be.

The Orlando Magic's recent trade for Vince Carter, who has a large salary and plays small forward -- which is Turkoglu's position -- made it highly unlikely Turkoglu would be back in Orlando.

The Toronto Raptors expressed interest, but that was constrained by their other efforts to keep Shawn Marion and Carlos Delfino.

Turkoglu, a 6-10 forward from Turkey who played a prominent role in the Magic's recent trip to the NBA Finals, had been looking for a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $50 million.

Ok Otis and RDV, you better step it up. Everyone around us is getting better, we have not. Gortat should be the top priority and I think can get good minutes as a backup 4 and 5 or starting 4. He gives us the option to go big against teams like the Lakers. Or against teams like Cleveland, he can be the Sixth Man and come in for Rashard or Dwight.

If they pass on Gortat they had better be able to pull in Rasheed Wallace (as much as I hate the guy) or Antonio McDyess. Otherwise, I doubt we get back to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Here is my thinking right now. The signing period starts, what, July 8th? What do we have like 8 days to match the offer sheet? That gives us to July 16th? I would say Wallace decides by then what he is going to do. If Wallace doesn't choose Orlando then go out there and match Gortat's offer. Then you still have the MLE if I'm not mistkan to fill out the rest of the roster.

Okay so it's 7 days....so we'd have 7 days from the 8th to match. That should give us enough time to know what Sheed is doing.

Hopefully you're right, but personally I would rather have Antonio rather than Rasheed. I think he's a better rebounder and can be like a Bo Outlaw for us.
