rashard also called out teammates saying that we dont have smart players or something in that regard. he speaks the truth but i dont know if he should be the one saying it when he got the ball stripped from him in crunch time along with that completely ill advised pass to dwight surrounded by 3 celtics. he played pretty f**king stupid down the stretch too

Yeah, he's part of the problem. He didn't do anything to help us win in the last few minutes yesterday, either.

I blame the coaching staff for not putting Lewis in the post when the game was getting close. They have NO answer for Lewis, yet we put him in situations that were not favorable for us at all. As for Dwight, my God he's an idiot. Does he not watch film? He's horrible against Perkins.

We are a mentally weak team, bottom line. We are better then these tough minded teams (Boston, Detroit), yet they get in our heads and we tense up and lose. I can feel them getting scared as I'm sitting on my couch.

For whatever reason, the Magic like to screw around once they get big leads.

The begin playing 1 on 1 basketball, they jack up shots, they try to run out the clock, they mentally freeze up and start making boneheaded turnovers, etc.

I don't know what it is. It's a combination of playing not to lose and also not knowing what to do once they get a lead. It's incredible that a team that won 59 games during the regular season STILL has such a hard time keeping GOOD teams at bay once the lead gets into the double-digits. The Magic become a totally different team once this happens.

If Stan had any balls, he would start Gortat for game 6. If he wants his players to respect him, he can't tolerate his players criticising him in front of the media. Have a private meeting with Howard, explain that he can't do that, tell him they will work on running more plays for him, and then tell him that he will start game 6 sitting on the bench. Keep him on the bench for the first two minutes or so and then unleash him. It's a symbolic gesture more than a strategic one, but I'll guarantee you it lights a fire under Howard.

He wouldnt keep his job if he did that s**t. Anyways, I dont have a problem with what Howard said. Stan sits up there after almost every game and criticizes the players.

And also, while I'm still feeling like piling on Stan, How in the HELL did we not get a 3 pointer up late in the game each after a timeout?!? That falls on the coach. Get your boyfriend JJ, or anybody running off a screen to at least attempt a 3. But no, on both possesions we look totally lost and let them foul us in the open court. Lets just wait 4 seconds while nobody knows what to do then throw it in to Dwight outside the 3 point line. Unbelievable!!

I think management is a little more reasonable than that. Van Gundy has benched Howard for disciplinary reasons before, and sitting him for a minute or two to start the game would hardly be cause for a firing.

I don't neccessarily disagree with Howard, but that doesn't mean he has the right to say it. Try it at your place of employment - go out into the middle of the office and then vocally criticize your boss in front of the rest of the employees. Just because some NBA players are self-obsessed prima donnas doesn't give them right to criticize their coaches publicly. It's Van Gundy's job to get up in front of the media and critique his players - he's a coach. Dwight's job is to shut his mouth and play hard (he missed on the first and the second is under review), and he has absolutely no business saying anything about his coach or teammates in front of the media. That's the first sign of a team on the verge of collapse.
