Orlando Magic guard Courtney Lee has been diagnosed with a fractured sinus after the team conducted further tests.

He suffered the injury midway through the first quarter of Orlando's Game 5 win over Philadelphia Tuesday night when he was accidentally elbowed by teammate Dwight Howard.

Lee will be seen by a specialist to determine the course of treatment, but at this point he is out for Game 6.

Hope he'll be ok for our next game. We DEFINITELY need him. :/

Ouch, if we have to play without Howard and Lee (and Nelson), it could be very difficult to pull out a win.

Actually, I've heard that Lee may be out for awhile and that his return in the playoffs is questionable. I hope I'm wrong on that, but I've heard differently on the status of Lee.

ORL over at RealGM found this:

How long does it take for a fractured sinus to heal? Without surgery it's going to take a week or two. A surgical solution will push the recovery out until four weeks.

Well, that would put him in question for the next series if we get by Philly, tough blow. Boy Dwight really f**ked us in Game 5! lol

Anyway, it's going to be a tall task to go to war without D Howard and C Lee Thursday, just means Gortat, Battie, JJ and Peaches have to step their game up.

Dwight's bulky elbows may cost us this series.

Dwight's bulky elbows may cost us this series.

Yeah, seriously. Between putting Lee out by accident and the cheap shot on Dalembert. This could kill us.

Im glad he cheap shot Foulembert......I think p**sy a** floppers and hackers deserve it...Hopefully Ratliff is next. Along with Dileo all they do is b**ch and moan because they can't guard him. These guys need to stand up for Lee and Howard, those guys carried this team during the series when nobody else could do s**t.

They need to drop anyone coming into the lane next game, start playing some GD playoff basketball. I think we could still beat them with Howard or Lee no doubt about it.

Magic shooting guard Courtney Lee is expected to undergo surgery today at the University of Pennsylvania to repair a fractured sinus cavity.

Depending on severity of injuries Lee will be out at least a week, but will miss the remainder of the series.

Actually, I was expecting a few weeks. We'll be lucky if he's only out 1 week. Hopefully we win this series, then he should only miss the first 2 games in Boston.

already have boston in the second round???

according to nba.com..he could miss the entire playoffs. but then again..the way this league is scripted our "entire playoffs" could consist of two more games.

Update on Courtney Lee

Here's an update on Lee and his outcome on the surgery: Hint, this is relatively good news.

Just saw on WFTV that Courtney did not make the trip up to Boston for the first two games.
