If Dwight would have thrown that elbow with the ball in his hands in the middle of a play, it would have been a flagrant and could have been likened to Rondo's play.  Again, the difference is in the context.  Dwight was acting out of anger and was intending to injure, Rondo was playing basketball and was intending to foul.  The actions weren't too different, but it doesn't matter.

If you close your eyes and throw a flowerpot out the window and it hits a little old lady in the head and kills her, it's manslaughter.  If you aim, its murder.

I wish he had fractured his eye socket...Just me though.

Anyone remember this article?
SI article

I think everyone who knows basketball was asking for this. Now they've got it. Becareful what you ask for

This league sickens me. It really does. I don't blame them one bit for suspending Howard. I really don't. I see where they're coming from with the elbow. But how on earth did Rondo's foul not only warrant a suspension, but they didn't even upgrade it to a flagrant foul. WTF????!??!?! How does the league look at that play all day long and determine that the refs made the right call? Impossible. With all the preaching about how there shouldn't be any contact to the head without at least trying to play the ball, there's no way you can call this a regular foul. f**k Stu Jackson. He's a dumb f**k. Period. There's no two ways about it. He's a dumb motherf**ker and we would be better off having an ape be in charge of the referees. Stupid a**hole.

and if im SVG I have Foyle in there to smack Foulembert in the face, which apparently is legal. The NBA has chosen who they want to succeed.

Stern's NBA is rigged. There is no other explanation for this. Teams like the Celtics are allowed to do whatever they want and it's called a "hard foul". If other teams like the Magic do the same thing it warrants a suspension. WTF is that Mr. Stern?

Look at the damage between the two actions. Miller was almost unconscious because of the blow by Rondo. Dalembert was not even hurt.

I bet that had Lebron done the same thing the NBA will not make a big deal out of this. f**k you David Stern and all your bias.

Anybody watching the Heat/Hawks game? Earlier, Wade made a legitimate attempt at the ball from behind (so many possible jokes here) on a Mo Evans fast break dunk attempt, Evans momentarily held the rim, there was lower body contact, both players fell to the ground, Wade was assessed a Flagrant 1! Earlier in the game, Wade had made a great play on a loose ball, tipping it forward, gets run into by Josh Smith, gets knocked to the ground and hits his head on the floor, and there isn't even a foul called! There better be some reviews by the league tomorrow where that Flagrant is reversed!

First, Dwight has been "warranted" soft. Now, he elbows a guy and he's a dick. C'mon now. f**k Dalembert tbh. He's a b**ch and has been fouling Howard the whole damn series.

Stu Jackson claims that the Rondo foul was not flagrant partly because there was no follow through on his "punch." Are you kidding me? That's part of the criteria for a punch? If that's the case, then a jab isn't a punch either because there's no follow through. So next time, Miller should just jab Rondo in the face and claim that since there's no follow through, it can't be considered intentional.

this is why david stern cant hold roger goodell's jock. he's lucky MLB doesnt have a halfway competent commish or he would easily be the worst commissioner of the major sports leagues.
