It was talked about in the game thread, but might deserve it's own discussion here.

The play:

Looks intentional to me, and unfortunately for the Magic, Dwight will probably be suspended for the next game I would think. It's possible that we could be missing Howard AND Lee (injury) for Game 6.

Opinions?

It sucks. I wouldn't argue with a suspension, but Rondo should be suspended as well. But I know he won't be. For some reason, his grabbing of Miller's face hasn't received the same attention as Dwight's elbow.

This is bulls**t if he's suspended and Rondo is not. I mean, he didnt even hurt Dalembert. Anyways, I still think we win it without him.

he is gonna get suspended just because the entire media is getting their panties in a bunch about it. but of course rondo clearly smacking a guy in the mouth is considered a "playoff foul". what a joke. im glad the fans started chanting ref you suck last night at the game and i hope david stern heard that s**t too so he quits thinking he has the best officials out of all the major sports.

I agree that Rondo should probably be suspended as well.

I mean hell, Rondo's foul caused blood...

You know, it was obviously intentional. A couple of years back when Stoudamire got suspended for leaving the bench when there was an altercation or whatever, I wasn't in favor of that despite it being a rule. I think in the playoffs you have to be more easy here. You don't want to lose a superstar and make a fallacy of the playoffs. I say a stiff fine, but I guess he will get suspended.

Well, ESPN announced that the NBA would announce a decision either tonight or tomorrow morning.

If they have to make an announcement about it, then that's not a good sign...

Damn, I don't want to wait till tomorrow. I think it's fair to us to know right away if he's going to be suspended.

He deserves to be suspended, in my opinion. I don't think Rondo deserves to be suspended, although I strongly feel that his foul should have been a flagrant foul.

It's not about the result, it's about the context. Dwight through an elbow in another players face out of frustration and anger. Rondo was trying to commit a foul and hit the wrong part of the body. Dwight had malicious intent, Rondo didn't. To me, that changes the whole situation.

Dwight's foul was pathetic. Confront Dalembert if you have a problem with him. Throwing an elbow and running away is embarassing.

The NBA should review that play and says it's a Fragent Fowl and if Suspended Rondo the Game doesn't count and Miller gets to shout the Foul and the other 2 again.

idk how you can say rondo shouldnt get suspended. if you look at the replay miller already had his hands extended forward and rondo knew he couldnt get the ball so he just hit him in the face on purpose. its not like he was going for the ball and missed to accidentally hit brad miller in the face. that was his intent the entire time.

and while we are at it if dwight gets suspended for this then how about rip hamilton get suspended for his obvious elbow to courtney lee's midsection this year for free up space to shoot in one of our games against them. its the same s**t and he didnt get suspended.

It's official. Howard is suspended.

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has been suspended for Thursday's Game 6 against Philadelphia.

Howard received a technical foul in the first quarter of the Magic's 91-78 win Game 5 over the Sixers Tuesday night for throwing an elbow at Samuel Dalembert as the pair fought for position underneath the basket.
