We had a long, enjoyable run, and I would like to thank every Orlando Magic fan who contributed to our small community on the web. This message board will be left online as an archive into the thoughts and minds of a group of Magic fanatics who lived through a 21-win season, the drafting of Dwight Howard, and an eventual NBA Finals appearance. Can Hedo make a f**king basket? Thank God Lewis was there to get the rebound and make the easy bucket. |

Negatives of this game: What in the world is wrong with Hedo and Rashard offensively? Sure both did other things well tonight, but they don't even look like starters, much less All Star caliber players. They have to kick it in gear and soon. We better not get another 18 point lead the rest of this series :). The SECOND we hit 18, we didn't play all that well again for the rest of the game. I can handle 17 or heck even 19, but we don't want another 18 point lead ![]() We do not look like a contender now. We don't even look like the same team we've had since Alston. Something is not right. It might be mental and it might be physical and it might be both. But something is definitely not right. Shot selection in the 2nd half. It should have been to the point where SVG would take out anyone who jacked up another 3 before trying to work the ball in. We almost shot ourselves right out of this game. Positives: Stubborn Van Gundy wised up and decided not to double team Andre Miller. I didn't think he would, but he made the right changes. We let Miller get his and didn't let the Williams' and Marshall's of the team to beat us. That's the key to victory. Miller won't be able to play that well offensively again, but our plan was the correct one tonight regardless of his point total. WE LET COURTNEY LEE PLAY IN THE 2ND HALF!!!!!!!!!! After Game 1's stupidity in taking him out of the game plan (could be coaching, could have been players). This guy is our go to guy right now. There's no doubt about it. He's playing at a whole other level right now. This is how Rashard and/or Hedo should be playing. If Lee continues to play close to this level, he might win this series by himself. Defensive effort. They hit some BS again, but our effort defensively was on a whole other level from Game 1. Especially the way we played before the dreaded 18 point lead. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gotta get more from Hedo and Rashard offensively. Gotta get Dwight the ball more offensively. Gotta avoid an 18 point lead ![]() I'm still worried about this series because Philly might step it back up at home and we're not right currently. Gotta win Game 3 and the ship will be righted. |

Thank you sir. You just saved me from typing the exact same thing. Totally agree. This is a bitter-sweet win for the Magic. We'll see what happens on Friday. I expected a little more effort at the beginning of the game, since this team was talking about how they were so upset about game 1. Besides Rose, Lee has been the most impressive rookie in the playoffs so far. |

I think all three of these were because of CLee. SVG made the switch and put Lee on Miller in the 2nd quarter and he was pretty much shut down after that. Besides Dwight, Lee is the backbone of our defense. If he is playing well on that end of the court, the team feeds off of that. I agree that its pretty eerie that the 18 point lead has been a detriment so far in this series, but we all have to remember that we've been playing with the lead (and a large lead at that) in both games and Philly had to hit some miraculous shots to get back into both games. Granted, some of the stupid shot selection (I'm looking at you, Hedo) let them fast break and get some easy baskets, but this is the NBA and everybody makes a run. I like how we were able to fend them especially with Dwight not on the court for most of the fourth due to foul trouble/fouling out! |

Had to edit my post because I had shot selection as a positive instead of a negative. I put it in the wrong spot accidentally. Our shot selection was horrid, IMO. |

Even when Alston was on Miller early on, double teams would not have done a thing. The shots he was hitting are shots you HAVE to give him. He was the best player on the floor tonight although Lee was very close. Miller almost singlehandedly kept them in this game. Something else we might want to consider in the future. AI is hitting some of the most BS shots I have ever seen in the 4th quarters of these games. He's not even a shooter. He is and has been a bad free throw shooter though. Should we consider a possible hack a Iguodala in certain situations? I swear I would rather see him on the FT line than outside the paint, with a hand in his face, and falling away. |

That's not what I was saying. Once they made the switch to Lee defending him, a double-team wasn't even necessary because he shut Miller down. He got most of his points in the first quarter or whenever there was a switch off of Lee or if DAD was defending him. At least, that's the game I was watching... |

Oh I agree, I was just backing up the "we shouldn't be double teaming him" notion that I felt from the opening minute of game 1. You're 100% right. |

I really don't know whats going on with Rashard, his game is just getting worse and worse. It might be playing out of position at the 4 spot, but still that's not enough of an excuse for how bad he is playing. |

A big reason for it is the tendinitis in his knees. He said after the game that his knees are at about 60-70% but getting a little better every day. I'm worried about him playing out of position in the future as well; obviously with his contract he's a much bigger priority than Hedo this offseason, I would think... |
